Everyone got real quiet when he said there should be evidence before judging someone, that is supposed to be normal, that is not a controversial statement.
When "Innocent until proven guilty" becomes "Guilty until proven innocent" you know there's something wrong with today's society, like a random woman could accuse me of harassing her and i'm sure 9 out of 10 people would side with her and judge me as a criminal before even understanding what's happening, that's how powerful women are these days and i fear for the next generation if women are given such powers over men.
Everyone was quiet for two simple reasons: there wasn't a joke or a punchline to react to, and Bill's rant came out of nowhere so a part of the audience didn't even know what he was talking about. For the first reason, what was the audience supposed to do? Laugh? At what? He didn't make a joke. Cheer? Yeah he for sure was really brave for saying "I think justice is good". There are no other ways for the audience to react. For the second reason, he had been talking about his childhood and tough parenting and suddenly says "I miss tougher parenting and evidence". From the context it's not clear what he means by "evidence". He then elaborates with a rant about how due process is a thing of the past (the only real controversial statement here) and something about social media being bad. It took a while for me to understand what he was talking about but by then he's made a comment about the audience being quiet. I like his other moments but this was like Bill's version of Jeb Bush's "Please clap" moment. The audience could only possibly react with a cheer and that would've been fine. In the case they didn't cheer, he'd call them out for being quiet and thus "disagreeing" with his obvious statement of "I like justice". Imagine a funny guest talking about some random topic and suddenly saying "I think people who work hard should be rewarded for their effort" in a serious tone. Would the audience not reacting indicate they think people shouldn't be rewarded? Or is that comedian just either being a jackass or trying to prove a point in a dishonest way? In short, evidence before judgement is normal and not controversial. Bill just framed it in such a way and you fell for it.
It's so true. In society men basically has to forfeit his life in a moments notice if need be so in exchange he had all the power. Now men have to forfeit their lives in a moment notice and have to be powerless in the home
@@thrawnprotocol9780what do you think it means?!? Men and women have been equal roughly for the last 40 - 50 years, and yet these feminists are STILL clamoring about rights....now ask yourself, what is it they really want? If they're equal, how many more "rights" can they have. Its power. It's always been about power.
its scary these days. I'm fortunate to know women with young men as sons and they are more sympathetic, one thing because women know women they understand each other generally and secondly they know the power of women over men. Outside of physical differences, women can hurt men emotionally and mentally as bad as any man can hurt a woman physically, So these women imagine their sons being falsely accused, because lets be honest, mothers mostly think best of their children, they need burden of proof to think otherwise. Well as mentioned, I know women who do not agree with "believe her" automatically and reasons mentioned above. And there is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with it.... justice and truth, what ever happened to that? Statistically yes false accusation is very low comparatively, this is not to be ignored. Even then, an individual is still owed a fair trial, if he or she is guilty then punishment is to be handed, due process. These days Social media have given people fake courage, voicing their opinion without thinking about it deeply because its easy to blurt out shallow assessments to other people. But funnily, face to face they tend to cower down. Today, in Social Media world, the most popular opinion is taken as gospel or truth.... facts aside. Now I've recently undertook some cognitive bias courses and it reinforced my previous knowledge of bias. People are BIASED because of the information given to them... this is one of the most common biases. And who controls the information? Media and corporations through media and internet. today its about appealing to the masses using the lowest amount of effort but the highest chance of effect... and that is through manipulation of people's inherent bias or "tendencies" to be biased. I wish people today, young people too, take a step back and read about cognitive bias and how the media and social media platform encourage spread of biased information to shape their opinion. Its a dangerous world, because bias make people overlook clarity and logic.... which are all vital parts of truth finding and justice... so basically, the low hanging fruit is "Trial by Media or popular opinion".... the high-effort path and thus is more likely resisted is the "Due process". Scary scary world

100% agree with Bill. I’m a woman and I always had the exact same thought about the whole “believe women” thing. I’m like yeah it’s good not to automatically be dismissive of women’s allegations but c’mon women are people are there are some really awful people out there who you definitely shouldn’t just take everything they say at face value.
If the feminist need to force society to "BELIEVEALLWOMEN" is a problem and should be look at as a red flag. This also tells you that women lie....a lot! This dysfunctional way of thinking have caused women to be dissolved from any accountability for their actions.
Yeah lol I mean Wikipedia has "female"-lists for basically every heinous category. Murderers, terrorists, dictators even concentration camp guards I wouldnt believe all women from those lists...
It is true that many things he says are accurate, but the part "women are overrated".... I can't help to feel a bit offended. I'm not saying that there aren't overrated women, because they probably exist, but in my personal experience, men usually don't tell you how brave you are for anything, but give less worth to basically anything you say for the mere fact of being a woman. I don't know how society in the US is, but I think what I get is the experience of most of women in the world
@@hellosofia15 Here in the US at least half of the populace (and the vast majority of the media) buys into cultural Marxism, meaning that they see all social dynamics in terms of power relationships: Oppressor and oppressed. Abuser and victim. In this case, women are the oppressed and therefore they are to be favored by social action, and men are the oppressors and therefore they are to be disfavored by social action. It can be pretty innocuous, for example tons of little girls' shirts say "Girl power" and "Girls are awesome" etc. It can be a little worrying, e.g. that terrible Gillette ad that played up "toxic masculinity" and implied that all boys are future rapists. It can be borderline fascist, e.g. what happened to Bret Kavanaugh. So it's a problem.

It took a heap of balls for Bill to say this in front of an audience. You can hear the one guy in the audience who is super on board, and everyone else is dead silent. Everyone needs to chill out. Bill Burr is not wrong here.
Yeah, “having balls” is a trait, I guess. I mean, I could loudly proclaim that giving women voting rights was a mistake in front of a DC feminist march or something, and that would be a “ballsy” thing to do, but risking public controversy for the sake of appealing to diminishing group of agrees doesn’t necessarily make it honorable, you know?
MTRredux He couldn’t be more right about the rape allegation situation in today’s world. Brett Kavanaugh was falsely accused with no evidence against him to support the accuser’s claims, yet every social media outlet blew up calling for him to be executed simply because someone accused him of an awful deed. With due process, you need to *prove* someone is guilty before the public demands justice.
@MTRredux Really? Let's say I accuse someone of murder, and the entire public instantly believes me because I accused them, with everyone openly stating they *are* a murderer, despite no actual evidence. It's the same with Kavanaugh. There is no due process or evidence, but everyone goes with it.
MTRredux Hey, I think Bill is not talking about that the legal system wants to abolish due process. He literally mentions social media, which I think he is completely right about. Basically the dynamic right now is: somebody gets accused of sexual assault and everybody instantly assumes that it is true. And while the majority of the sexual assault cases seem to actually be true, some of them are not. And the fact that many people on social media completely erased the benefit of doubt for alleged rapists is not a good development imo.
Conan is such a pathetic squish in his shocked reaction to Burr. Burr has opened a very large deposit of "comedy gold" with the "women are overrated" premise.

Im turning 30 this year. My parent are awesome and we have a great relationship, and I credit it to them having strict and semi harsh boundaries. As me and my older brother grew up, we realized all they sacrificed and why they were as "tough" as they were (they werent that tough). But man I feel so bad for my mom bc we definitely pushed her buttons, but all it took was "let me tell your dad" and we whipped into shape. Worst I got a was a little spanking and some soap in the mouth. But looking back, im glad it happened. My mom used to tell me "lifes not fair", and it prepared me for my future - cant always get what you want, dont dwell and get emotional, accept it and find another path forward.
but I do agree that conan does seem like a simp sometimes, there was another episode where one of conan's simp guests criticized rap music, which is bullshit, becuase there is nothing wrong with objectifying women
Why would he suggested something that already exists? He didn't suggested it. He meant we should stop lynch people before legal actions are applied. That wilk never happen btw. @Viostic1 because women’s rights is the one being oppressed, not practiced etc (sorry if this sentence is grammarly incorrect im not a native speaker). feminism means the advocacy of women's rights on the basis of the equality of the sexes. and because women had way less rights than men over many years, the name was feminism. men didnt have to fight for their basic human rights but women had to. however this still does not men women’s rights are more important than mens, this just meand both rights are equally as important but women had to and still have to work or fight to achieve some rights men already have
@d00d Feminist need to put more emphasis on fairness rather than equality. There's a difference. If a family sits down to have dinner and a grown man gets more food than an infant. That's not equal treatment, but it's fair treatment because it's fair to say a grown man needs more food than a baby. If I injected a woman with 10 times the testosterone, it would would fair to treat her differently based on the change in temperament, aggression, strength/athleticism etc. Unfortunately feminist have been told their entire childhood the best way to achieve fair treatment is to demand equal treatment in virtually all situations.

@Frisbee 'n' Cookies I can vouch.
its scary these days.

He couldn’t be more right about the rape allegation situation in today’s world. Brett Kavanaugh was falsely accused with no evidence against him to support the accuser’s claims, yet every social media outlet blew up calling for him to be executed simply because someone accused him of an awful deed. With due process, you need to *prove* someone is guilty before the public demands justice.
@MTRredux
Really?

Brilliant. He literally suggested due process and the audience fell stark silent 😂
Yea they get perplexed when they hear that word because most have no clue what the foundation of this country's founding was based!
Why would he suggested something that already exists? He didn't suggested it. He meant we should stop lynch people before legal actions are applied. That wilk never happen btw. It's against human nature. We will always choose a group to lynch. The kind of group may change over the centuries but public lynch is always there.

Hes right. "I miss evidence, due process." Auduence acts like he shot a puppy.
No one has ever claimed due process and evidence arent important. The problem is , men have gotten away with assault and harrasment of women with zero consequences, and then, also, discouraged them from even telling anyone because they are told they are somehow to blame for the actions of their abuser. How do you suggest this problem be solved, other than by women simply refusing to take that for granted any longer? I'd love to hear your ideas.
@@TheBeezusjones it's only 0 consequences because the victims aren't reporting if u don't succeed the first time try try again women give up to easily and scream patriarchy instead of taking the bull by the horns
@@TheBeezusjones the answer is not to blindly believe all women
@@kimberlyWard8152 you said what the answer is NOT. Really helpful. Lol. Oh, i've got it- how bout men just stop looking at women as objects to be used, and stop feeling entitled to abuse, and harrass them, and blaming women for actions which are their own. 😀 then none of this would be an issue!

@@potatomaster7482 that’s feminism. feminism does not mean women are superior to men. feminism means equal rights and equality
@Viostic1 because women’s rights is the one being oppressed, not practiced etc (sorry if this sentence is grammarly incorrect im not a native speaker). feminism means the advocacy of women's rights on the basis of the equality of the sexes. and because women had way less rights than men over many years, the name was feminism. men didnt have to fight for their basic human rights but women had to. however this still does not men women’s rights are more important than mens, this just meand both rights are equally as important but women had to and still have to work or fight to achieve some rights men already have
@d00d PREACH SISTER!!!!
@d00d Don't be a feminist then.

@@moferdman7135 Tossing milk in your crotch goblin's face without making eye-contact is a basic powermove in parenting. If the dad cleans up after it takes away the initial effect for the most part, and the mom knew that.
+burn83 Throwing the milk was a stupid punishment, though, imo. His little brother was forced to eat the old dinner food presumably to teach him to appreciate the things he had, and not to be wasteful. Wasting a glass of milk conflicts with that, not to mention, pointlessly causes trouble for the mother he just insulted, since it was her who cleaned up the mess. Should've just smacked him a little.
