That's unlucky D:! The race commentary is always fascinating though! Keep up the good work :)! I'm looking forward to racing next season, would have started this year, but wasn't quite ready at the start.
Wow, crazy course looks like great fun if you don't crash. Glad you avoided going down in the crash. Nice hat (I'm from California). Great video as always.
Great video as always, Jasper! I can't wait to see the video about Rapha Nocturne, I've a few friends from Malmö and CPH that are going to race the fixed gear crit :D
How do you maintain the aesthetics of the components with all those crashes. Can you polish out the scratches on the bike components or do you respray everything at the end of the season ?
You do not need a team to race. Just don't wear team kit ;) I can recommend that you do not wear your best kit because crashing is always a possibility
It's so that his legs are not feeling as stiff next time he gets back on the bike, likely the next day he will go back on the bike to train. And he would want to feel as fresh as possible. Doing this helps as it spins some of the lactic acid away.
Fix those leg cramps with Magnesium Glycinate which has increased bioavailability You can find out if you are magnesium deficient with a Magnesium RBC blood test: optimum levels are 6.0 - 6.5 mg/dL If you take magnesium for longer than 3 weeks you need to balance it out with some Calcium Orotate
Yeah, I fully agree: magnesium will do miracles for your cramps ! My diet provides me all the magnesium I need (RDA are 480mg/day for men) but I was still having cramps on high intensity/duration efforts, and taking a magnesium supplement helped tremendously ! But all magnesium are not equals ! Magnesium citrate for ex. didn't work for me, though I heard positive reviews from others. The one magnesium supplement that works for me is this one: www.iherb.com/pr/Doctor-s-Best-High-Absorption-Magnesium-100-Chelated-with-TRAACS-240-Tablets/16567 I only take one tablet before the effort, and one after (each time with a meal), that's only 100mg/tablet but it makes the difference.
Wow Warren Fuller, we need to have a nutrition conversation. I believe that most people don't know that the salt that goes along with the cation can have a major effect on bioavailability. Really interested in what you know about products that contain these ingredients.
@JasperVerkuijl Do you have a special insurance for your equipment specially for taking pat in races? I was run over recently by a car on my road bike. And even in this case this was an administrative hell. But races would be excluded by my insurance completely.
But in case your bike would be a total wreck, yourself in the hospital, unable to work - all because of a crash during the race.. That could result in a very severe consequence, financially and personally after all. I think I really need to check up on my insurance asap ;) (Thanks so much for responding btw @JasperVerkuijl)
You were really lucky not to get caught up in that crash. I don't know what to say about the cramps. Mine usually come after I stop riding. We have Sports Medicine specialists here in the US. Maybe you need some science to help with that. I like to use a Flow Through saddle to help with comfort and blood ciculation. The bigger the hole the better. Good luck.😉
That was very weird the way it happened the whole right side was open you could have just went to the right but it seemed as if the accident sucked you in like a magnet..
Jasper Verkuijl i guess you are slow in the head. Dont get stupid with me 😉.. i was just saying that sometimes its very weird the way things happen even if you're walking down the hall sometimes you bump into the other person trying to avoid each other.. you had enough time you were just locked on to the accident like a deer in headlights.. this can happen to any mortal..
why don't speak to a doctor or a trainer about these cramps? you seem to have them every single time you race... also: with good reactions you would have avoided the crash and won this race! too bad you didn't steer right, there was enough place to pass the fallen riders...
he knew that, they were in a break-away, he was the last guy... anyway, better going right than plowing into three guys. I guess he was too gassed or just didn't have the reaction (which is a hard reaction to have, of course)
You need more sponsors. Sponsors on your jersey= free speed. It's science.
A very nice video and race👍. I LOVE your positive attitude about things went wrong.
That's unlucky D:! The race commentary is always fascinating though! Keep up the good work :)! I'm looking forward to racing next season, would have started this year, but wasn't quite ready at the start.
Ziet er goed uit met de garmin gopro mount! Mooie video zoals altijd! Ik kijk alweer uit naar de volgende.
Great effort in the race and making this video. Keep it up and hope you have better luck next time.
Nice video, the racing in the Netherlands looks ace.
Wow, glad you avoided injury from the crash. Nice working seeing it through anyhow
Goed bezig met je Garmin go pro mount! Grappig om een aantal renners te zien waar ik ook mee koers!
Great videos, I’m new to biking and loved the graphics overlay with the map!
As a non-racer this stuff is really interesting, not for me but I'm glad someone does it
Wow, crazy course looks like great fun if you don't crash. Glad you avoided going down in the crash. Nice hat (I'm from California). Great video as always.
Great video as usual 👍 good you avoided coming down in the crash. 👌
Great video as always, Jasper! I can't wait to see the video about Rapha Nocturne, I've a few friends from Malmö and CPH that are going to race the fixed gear crit :D

You don't. Haha.
This crit Video is more excite than before. That's too pity in the last lap. Wish u success in the next crit.
8:20 what is that
Whats the best way to improve bike handling for narrow technical courses like that in training?
Jasper, when are you coming back to LA? Would love to watch you race!
You are always thinking positive.
How long have you been racing for?
Way to go! You are amazing for your first year.
Are the crit races faster in Europe than America?
Idk about crits but road races are definitely faster in UK France the Netherlands then Belgium
It dont matter where the race is. Its all about the teams and how hard they want to ride that day..
If I am looking to race, do I have to find a team, or can I race solo? If I race solo, what do I wear?
You do not need a team to race. Just don't wear team kit ;) I can recommend that you do not wear your best kit because crashing is always a possibility
Repair only, they do not replace any item for free if you fall.
You should race a few solo and then join a team from the ones that you race with.
Arthur Maas ok, thanks much for the info
Depends where you are. I think in Germany you must be in a team in order to get a license.
Was #14 fixing his bike or some how involved in another crash with the green guy on the last lap?
9:50 nice bike simplon, i wonder which model it is
I think the cramps are due to fatigue?? All these high paced high power races probably requires more rest??
Superb video
With K-Edge this time?
what was that on a parking lot? I can't understand why do you decided to train little bit.
He has the spin the lactic acid out of his legs. It's active recovery.
yes. I see this phenomenon for the first time.
what is it for?
It's so that his legs are not feeling as stiff next time he gets back on the bike, likely the next day he will go back on the bike to train. And he would want to feel as fresh as possible. Doing this helps as it spins some of the lactic acid away.
wow. that's good to know. never thought about this before.

Very nice!🚴👍
how old are you?
Jasper Verkuijl i love you ☺
I was supposed to be in BEVERWIJK this weekend!

I couldn't imagine how sore your legs would be!!
Leuke baan zelf vaak gereden

check your electrolytes (zinc, calcium, magnesium, potassium..) maybe carbs. check out examine.com
good luck and keep up the vlogs✌️
Good evening GUYS???? CYCLING FA-NA-TICS JASPER!
I wonder why your legs keep cramping... Sodium issue? I'm sure you've tried everything.
I'd stop with cramp! And even then you still kept up with the group. Shame on the crash.
Probeer ORS tegen de kramp. Kun je gewoon kopen bij de drogist. Werkt echt
You are lucky you didn't fall
FFFanatics.

You have to be sure there is no one coming from behind when you suddenly change directions !
he knew that, they were in a break-away, he was the last guy... anyway, better going right than plowing into three guys. I guess he was too gassed or just didn't have the reaction (which is a hard reaction to have, of course)
that's what makes it so frustrating because I know you would've won the race if you had won that coin-flip... Next time!
