Does a layer actually come off the pan when you heat it up? Mine didn’t peel off not sure if it’s normal.

I’ve never seen it come off. The manual says there’s one and it needs to be peeled off before cooking on it. I’ve now had it going a few times and plate is warping slightly from being on top and getting hot. But no I’ve never seen the layer
