  • This is a review of my new purchase of the Kings premium pot belly stove. I've had it for a few weeks now but haven't had a chance to get out and use it due to lockdown #5 but got out for a 3 night camp and use it right through the camp.
    Hope you enjoy and hopefully it helps you out if your thinking of getting one

    I have a Wooshka, yeah I know much more expensive, but same concept. With the lid on and the door closed relying on the door vent only, make sure you place the fire closer to the front of the door where the vent is otherwise it will not burn as well and smoke heaps. Having the fire more to the front of the fire box (more toward the door) allows the fire box to exhaust the smoke properly and the fire to breath. Also means that you can't over pack it. Have a go, but that is what I have found has worked to have it burn well with the door closed and just using the door vent with it open.

      Yep still going great, had it out on the weekend. Cooked my steak on it, boiled my water for cuppa and shower and kept me warm when it cooled down later in the evening.
      Just love it.

    Cant go past an OZpig. Ozzi made and has lots as addons. Not cheap though but very high quality. I have not had a good run with Kings products in the past.

      I've had trouble with only one kings product and that was a fridge. I've had three of their firepits/stoves and still own two of them and they are still going strong.

    Good review mate. I am still not convinced there is any advantage to this over an open fire. Or even a standard firepit. But maybe that's another video for you. Catch ya soon.

    • @Gunnadoo
      @Gunnadoo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yeah I didn't buy it to replace an open fire as I also had that at this camp too, I just find it easier to cook on than the open fire. The big plus for me is some places I go don't allow open fires so this is perfect, it fits in my camper trailer and can be used when needed.

      Apart from the fact an open fire pit is banned in all national parks, and a lot of other camp areas, its a brilliant way to be portable, has sufficient heat, and an excelant variety to gas,
      Add the water can to it and its done, but remember water continually boiled makes crap coffee,

    • @Gunnadoo
      @Gunnadoo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      As in the vents that adjust in the front door ?
      Hmmm yeah they can help but really getting a good hot fire, keeping your wood small and at the front help the most.

    Attach a 12v or battery powered bulge fan to the chimney and that will fire it up and will pull the smoke up the chimney🔥💨

    • @Gunnadoo

      Yes absolutely, I cook on it, boil water on it and yes keep myself warm, it all depends on what kind of fire is in it, use good quality wood and keep the pieces small.

    • @Gunnadoo
      @Gunnadoo  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well maybe, if you shut up the front it doesn't smoke at all. It really depends on the wood, where you place it inside the box and keep your wood small and it's not a problem.

      Hmmm I'm not going to say absolutely yes cause if you buy 1 on that recommendation and it doesn't work then you'd be pisse off.
      If like I said keep your wood small and the door shut it should work, if your wanting it to heat a cabin all night then that might be asking a bit, it will heat it but you will have to get up a fair bit to keep feeding wood into it that's all

      Well my mate ended up buying a Winnerrwel nomad large sized camping stove and it is fantastic absolutely no smoke comming out the front and you can shut the front door and after 5 min of start up no smoke out of the flue. this unit burns kleen, i even put green lemmon tree leaves in and no smoke . And the burn intensity is so controlable He gave me the kings and i played around with it all afternoon with a wellder and a plasma cutter and the conclusion the flue is way to small in diameter , as in your video it smokes out of the top plate edges ,out the front and in every youtube review i have watched they all have the front door open because they are trying to reduce the smoke but it will still give everyone sitting around it streaming tears .And its failing to be an inclosed unit if you have to have the front door open or the lid off it for it to burn and it still produces too much smoke.@@Gunnadoo
