Flatliners are such amazing vehicles to find early because they're usually quite easy to repair unless you find the one with the big hydro thruster. Also Zardener's locomotive surviving brought me such joy. The battle train lives!
Watching everyone work together to try and flip your rover was cool. And I especially loved the scene of you sitting calmly on a bench while the Locorover that Could gets shot to pieces all around you. All capped by "Dibs on his skull." i love that this series encapsulates the best parts of both ingenuity and what its like to work with salvaged resources. a lot of my projects (in real life) are made with materials i find on the side of the road. having to finesse how two parts will fit together, how you can make a screw go where it shouldnt, and the patchwork look of assorted sheet metal is always so much fun to make happen. thank you for helping to make such a fun way to play space engineers!

There was a small part of me that was hoping I'd get lucky and survive despite how little I prepared, but I think the outcome of my vehicle dying before the battle even begun was a lot more fitting (and funny) :D
Zarder's Locomotive needs to be rebuilt Mad Max style for the next incursion. That thing has already proven capable, now it only needs to be armed to overwhelm. I sat up so fast seeing the train roll up to the base, I was sure it had been destroyed seeing it's last situation when Splitsie fell off.
On the truckler: What I've found work best, is to have the front wheels, and just use the height offset on them to raise the wheels into the air. They don't really provide any lift and only make it harder to pull. But then they're in place when you want to drive it as a truck. Zarder: Weren't you killed? Sadly yes, but I lived. On the pole: WTF? I wasn't aware SE could handle that many drones at once.

Splitsie is why I always check for a gyro before moving any vehicle I build, even though at least two (normally three for a rover, four to six for a ship, redundancy rules) gyros are what I build second or third (depending if I am building off a scaffold arm or a connector).
This is one of those series thats make me think "Dang, I really REALLY want to play this game!" So, great job! What might be a viable strategy, would be to establish an anti aircraft base at the edge of the rim where you can always get away from the large aircraft inside the rim. If you’re patient you should be able to break the bases that mark the rim and push your way in… that would be suitably dramatic

Making a FOB near the poles might be a great idea. That way you have a point to muster at and instead of one person having to supply stuff for a forward operating base, it could be a group effort. Edit: You should call this operation Operation Mad Grandpa(or Gamble)and the name of the FOB Way Toward Freedom. If you ever need to stage an incursion to the poles, the rally signal could be OMGWTF
I do reckon Shadow's vehicle had the right idea with that rotorgun turret. Response to your approach probably scaled with the force you brought (hopefully the sheer number of them was due to that and not just what happens every time), so you're definitely going to want to be able to take them out of the sky as quickly as possible. Additionally, once you get a foothold in the region, you might be able to snipe out the stationary bases for some serious resources, both in their outer defenses and whatever they might have inside. A similar case could be made for the aircraft too, if any of them survive both the damage required to down them and the subsequent impact with the ground - possibly a good source of ammo and thrusters. Curious as to whether they have turrets or fixed weapons, as they seem remarkably accurate for the latter (though it's hard to tell what any of them are doing when there's so many). Zarder's vehicle surviving is an interesting one. It was great to see him roll up in that and just say 'I lived', particularly given the amount of pick-ups he stopped for. I imagine the stuff at the back survived not just because of the armor of the door, but also because the aircraft likely were attempting to lead their shots and overcompensating slightly, or just aiming for the center, and missing the functional components at the back? That, and it was the final vehicle to be targetted, given all the others already on foot by then. I'm curious as to how something large grid would fare, or an aircraft focusing on being evasive (obviously with some armor included). I didn't think about it much, but with your available thrusters all being small grid, you will have to use small grid to get to space, won't you? That'll definitely be interesting to see the build for.
I'm happy I found this series! This looks pretty much like the survival game of my dreams :D Which is funny cause I played SE in its early years only and completely missed out on what you could do with mods! I definitely gonna get back to it soon, following this channel might help :)

Nope, all the videos on this channel are pre-recorded just for editing. When recording that way I do things quite differently to how I would on stream e.g. there are stretches where I'll say nothing for 5-10minutes if nothing is happening. As a result I don't ever post the unedited versions :)

Then I programmed a timer block so I could raise and lower the outrigger with one hotkey. Park and hit the outrigger and never worry about tipping over my crane.
