ive had issues waking up to pee at night. i watched this video yesterday and i took 5 grams of both salt and glycine. it works! didnt wake up at all to pee which hasnt happened in a long time

Thanks Chris. Good video review of glycine. Do you think consuming a bit of honey or refined carb with glycine before sleep could help shuttle more of it to the brain and increase it's effectiveness for sleep? I have heard something like this before and the rationale is hinged on insulin transport. I don't know if Chris has talked about this and if he has, maybe somebody can link me to it here. If not, I think I'd give the honey a try as people report sleep benefits with it. At the very least I don't see any negatives of trying it. Thanks for all your work Also, it'd be neat to see a video of effects of chamomile, valerian and various herbs touted as sleep promoting if you haven't done one and it interests you. I wonder if these are largely microbiome related. There's talk of some of these herbs being GABA-promoting so maybe there's a benefit there
I find I need something salty before bed. Last night I had insomnia really bad. I took 70 mcg of melatonin 2 Advil pms finally around 4:30 am I got up and ate some lightly salted sea salt chips. I had no idea salt helped sleep.

Hi Chris, I have been trying to consume Glycine or Collagen or bone broth for years, but everytime I tried it would make me enter a state of apathy, tiredness, for the day and next day, even on low dose like 1 gram. Do you have any idea what is going on? Thank you for your great work!
Did you find any answers? I get the same response. I wonder if it has something to do with methylation and the glycine buffer system. I usually take it on an empty stomach, taking it with a meal may help if that’s the case.
Depends on the salt, but Morton's is 7 grams per teaspoon. Salt is 39% sodium, so that would be 2.7 grams of sodium. 5 grams of pure salt is 0.71 teaspoons and 5 grams of sodium is 1.85 teaspoons of salt.
@@chrismasterjohn i'm sorry to be so dense; I want to make sure i'm getting this correct. So if I measure out a teaspoon of table salt, i'm getting 7 gm weight of table salt, which equals 2.7 gm of sodium. Is this correct? So am I wanting 5 gm weight of table salt, or am i aiming at 5 gm of SODIUM (which appears to be approx. 1 and 3/4 tsp table salt? Also, do I take this all at once before bed, or spread out during the day?
I take 2 tsp of solé salt water first thing in the morning, and repeat in the afternoon and evening. I’m very low carb (mainly meat and eggs) so I need to heavily supplement with salt plus a little potassium and magnesium. The 5 or 6 grams of glycine before bed have been helpful for sleep A LOT!

@Ruchi You don't want table salt. You want electrolytes, which include salt, potassium, and magnesium. Checkout Sol Brah Supplements. He sells bison liver, glycine, and electrolytes supplements.
