@@osbornecyber - recommended 6 - 10 grams of each split for twice a day dose on an empty stomach. You can go higher if tolerated. I started at 6 grams and I'm now at 8 grams...about a week trial for each increase. Also check for need of folate and B vitamins to go with. I'm researching now.

I m here…at the DNA repair proteins…and this is not only fascinating, but you explain it so well that even I can understand it! Thank you!
My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer 2 months ago. I discovered your podcast about studies combining fasting (causing autophage) with chemo. We do intermittent fasting, 20 hours a day.
He was considered terminal, and two months later his blood levels of alpha fetylprotein show barely any cancer left! A short way to go, but the doctors are amazed. (We also cut out sugar, carbs, starches and most sugar substitutes, which ‘feed” cancer according to some other studies I found.)
These studies need to make it out to the general population, and you are helping make that happen!

I had to chuckle when you mentioned that 80% of your viewers skip to the conclusions in your videos, but I am not one of them. I do not have the background to process most of the research studies you cite, but am deeply interested in gaining some insight into their outcomes. You are my Rosetta Stone that bridges my world to this knowledge. You have the ability to consume this research and pigeonhole all of the useful nuggets and, in turn, allow me to attempt to gorge on those morsels. Not only do I consume your videos in their entirety, but I frequently find myself rewinding and re-reviewing items that I didn’t understand the first (or second or third) time. You are a marvelous resource and I very much appreciate your exhaustive efforts. It opens up a view not typically available to a layman which allows me the equivalent of speed reading with my eyes closed. 😊😊😊

I'm 47 and started taking GlyNAC a couple of weeks ago, and the changes are mind-boggling. Better mood, more energy, no pain anywhere, tinnitus gone, WAY better attention/focus, no brain fog ever, no sugar cravings, more motivation. What the hell?! I'm shocked out of my mind. I thought I'd maybe feel a little more energy--this was not expected. Why are we not hearing more about this?!
Edit 4 months later: I still take it every day with breaks now and then because I do that with most of my supplements. I still feel much better when I take it, but it doesn't effect me as strongly as when I first started. I DO still feel better mood, less brain fog, easier sleep, and simply better in general when I take it vs not. Just like with any supplement, it will effect different people differently. Clearly, there's something in GlyNAC that my body really wants/needs. Perhaps it's something I don't naturally make well or don't absorb well via food. If it does nothing for YOU, then maybe you just don't need it and should look elsewhere for something that clears up your issues.
Also, I don't know what about my post triggered demanding people, but people who comment on youtube aren't here to be your answer bot. Do your own research. I did mine, and don't know why people can't do a "what's the dosage for GlyNAC" google or AI search... or just look on the friggin bottle when you buy it.

As you requested, I'm writing to let you know that I made it through the part where you described the DNA Repair Protein's activity in the repair of DNA damage as it winds around the histone proteins. I have to say, you're the first researcher that I've heard, mention the process of Ubiquination. I am incredibly fascinated by the topic of epigenetics! I got my introduction to the topic by reading Nessa Carey's book "The Epigenetic Revolution", where I learned of methyl- and acetyl- epigenetic tagging, to increase or dampen the transcription of the tagged portions of the DNA molecule. I was in intellectual heaven! I hungered for more so I bought a textbook on the subject and quickly realized that I didn't have sufficient brain power to assimilate and utilize all of the data that was quickly being yielded by the nascent field. Thank God for scientists/researchers like you! I appreciate your breaking down the research and science for mere mortals like me!

I started taking both glyNAC and liposomal Glutathione two months ago, after seeing this and looking at a few peer-reviewed studies. I was only taking it for broad generic reasons - but after about a week I suddenly noticed that my ['incurable'] post-chemotherapy neuropathy was noticeably better.
After a certain point (around one, one-and a half years), supposedly the pain and pins-and-needles of neuropathy after chemo don't improve. And there is no treatment - pain killers don't work - although for a very few anti-depressants help slightly, but I don't want to mess with my healthy brain and would rather just cope with the pain.
But so long as I take it daily, each day it is slightly better, continuously; and now two months on my neuropathy is nearly gone. It is rarely 'painful', mostly just tingling. So is my 'burning mouth syndrome', also something for which there is supposedly no treatment.
I'm stunned and delighted. Thank you for putting me onto it - even if you didn't recommend it for peripheral neuropathy!
I hope this comment might help someone else.

I have never subscribed to any TH-cam channel. Ever. But scanning this video while working late changed everything.
Definitely one of the fastest, most informative one-hour lectures I've ever attended. And for someone with inattentive ADHD, that's saying something. As much as I enjoy learning, especially from scientific and medical lectures, I'm never able to watch more than a few minutes at a time and stay engaged, no matter how interested I am in the subject. After about five to seven minutes, I'm a "skipper".
But you called us "skippers" out from the beginning. I felt guilty when you explained how it impacted your analytics (I'm also autistic, so anything about data catches my attention). I figured I'd keep the video playing in the background while working in order to help your algorithm. That lasted maybe three minutes. Then I couldn't do anything BUT watch the video. And yes, to the end.
That thee minutes was so impressive, I left the work computer, jumped on the home laptop and created a TH-cam account specifically to subscribe so I don't miss any more videos from you.
I can hardly wait to wrap up work and get lost in this channel's video library!

Thank you a thousand times for this - for an unexpected reason. I began taking GlyNAC after watching this as well as Liposomal Glutathione, since at least one non-rodent study I found said that did escape the rigours of our digestion.
A week later out of the blue I suddenly noticed the constant burning pain in my feet from post-chemotherapy neuropathy was reduced. I cast my mind back to what that might have been due to - since I'm well past the point where the oncologists told me it would no longer improve, and the levels I had I was stuck with for life. I could only think of one change to my diet and it was the GlyNAC/Glutathione.
Of course there is always the placebo effect - even if I didn't take it for neuropathy and had no expectation it would help.
However, that was four months ago. Every day that I took two doses, it was a tiny bit better. Ever time noticed it wasn't better, I realised I'd forgotten one or both doses.
Four months on, it is about 75% better, and I'd describe it as 'tingling pins and needles' rather than 'burning pain'; even if I've walked 15 kilometres that day.
This is really life-changing for me. I hope it might someone else with supposedly untreatable 'neuropathy'.
    Thank you for this video!!

@@Lulu-kt6gr Hi Lulu, so sorry to hear about your husband. I hope this might help but of course it's only one person's experience and might be meaningless. I hope you find something that works for him.
I've done two things - and I can't tell any difference between them when I swap back and forth.
      (1) Liposomal Glutathione
      (2) 'Glynac' - I bought Glycine and N-Ac separately as capsules on ebay (I'm in Britain, so finding this might be different for you.)
So it's a few months off a year from doing this, about 10 months I guess. The neuropathy hasn't gone completely, but some days I don't feel it at all and other days there's a slight buzz or burn but nothing like it was.
I think I might need to take a higher dose - routinely I've been taking around 1000 mg of each once a day, but you can certainly take more.
One unexpected discovery is if you buy powdered Glycine, it looks and tastes EXACTLY like sugar - amazing, a natural sweetener with no aftertaste that is actually good for you! Fantastic presentation! I have learnt so much. In 2008 I was diagnosed with ms; my relapses are more often and my recovery it’s harder and harder. I have never been a fan on DMT’s but after my last relapse from August last year, I have done some intense research on some vitamins and amino acids, and peptides. Wish I had all day to go through this but it’s impossible. Now, I am getting stronger and stronger by the day only because of supplements like glutathione, NAC, NMN, silicium, lions mane, Vit A, D + K2, and some others. If my health condition is being kept under control is not because of the DMT’s, it’s because of the extra supplements I have been taking. But this is what I do for me; please do your research and read about all side effects and what might interact with what ever other meds. I’m not on any atm; just vitamins, good food, god’s blessings and being mindful of triggers around me. And my both arms swing back and forward during walking just as a it should. I’m so grateful for such videos; I am healthier because of such videos. Thank you so so much.

What might be particular about them is their curiosity about learning and life. Life-long learners who continually adapt. In these cases, the old model idea of what age sort of looks like, is not followed. One of my relatives said 80 is the new 50. She bikes daily and wins in her handicap at golf continually. After 4 weeks it was greatly enhanced, and I no longer had to use my knee braces to support my impaired miniscus on my left knee and a patella on my right knee that had been fractured 2 years earlier and had not healed properly. That was last September. I know can play pickleball several times a week here in Florida 2-3 hours at a time, without using knee braces, and I outlast most seniors my age here in The Villages. The Masters research taught me about research which I am thriving on as it relates to aging. In my IT prior life I spent 5 years at NIH/NIA as an Info Sec guy in an environment that greatly concerns me as I get older. Why is it we wait till it is almost too late to do anything about it? I did my thesis on Teaching English to elderly Japanese (average age 83) that have a great concern about preventing dementia. I learned from my students. I want to do anything and everything to live a full energetic life as long as possible. "Hey! I got to the DNA repair proteins!" :)
As a 69.9-year-old UK man, I've experienced firsthand the transformative power of changing my diet. This led me to explore biochemistry. After struggling with numerous health issues for over 25 years, adopting a keto/carnivore diet has freed me from conditions like nodular scerising Hodgkin's lymphoma, type 2 diabetes, and more. This led me to explore biochemistry. As a former electronics/computer engineer, I find your videos fascinating and appreciate how they allow me to "nerd out" while expanding my biochemistry knowledge. Although I may not grasp everything, I can follow your explanations, and I'm grateful for your efforts. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and helping me broaden my understanding!

Thank you for this presentation. Have been listening to podcasts about mitochondria/ oxidative stress/ autophagy/ Glutathione/ NAC/ glycine etc, for years. Cannot say, that I fully understand it however am familiar with all the jargon. I feel you have explained this study sooo well. Will pass this video to friends as it gives a very clear explanation of the possible benefits from supplementation and it's connection to oxidative stress.
I do sometimes wonder whether it might not be necessary to supplement daily but rather a couple of times per week, to get the same effect but studies don't seem to attempt this. Need more "groups" in these studies.

I made it to the halfway point. My reason for watching this is because I have been supplementing with glycine and NAC every day(since 3 months ago). It's not an easy routine to upkeep unless I have a strong conviction for doing it. I put my body through a lot of stress(exercise, 22% incline, tredmill HIIT's, 1min sprints/30-60min), and I experience a lot of inflammation. I love the workout, but my heart hurts after a good one. I do everything I can to downplay the inflammation and take glycine, and NAC is one of my ways. I appreciate finding out why glycine and NAC supplementation works backed by real evidence. I don't really have time to properly research the subject or have the necessary background to understand this kind of material. I gotta say that I couldn't have understood this without physionic's thorough explanation. Thanks, brother.

Just discovered your channel. Am older white male; 6ft 3in, 205lbs. Recently learned abt autophagy via cardiologist in FL. Was eating in time restricted window already. Changed to 6 hr window a few months ago. Have been taking NAC, Quercetin, Vit C, Vit D, and others thru-out the pandemic. Vit D blood level is at 70 ng/ml. Watched all of video. Found it very interesting. May look into Glycine. Have been a distance swimmer for decades. With time limited eating & much less sugar, think autophagy is wrkng.
My blood pressure is at normal levels. Sleeping pulse rate was in low 50s. Recently is consistently going down to 48 to 44, on most nights.

Hi Nicolas, I saw the whole video, it's not new to me as I already saw much other vids before here on TH-cam. That said, I found your presentation relaxed and easy to understand 👍 I'm personally taking those supplements since arround one year, NAC = 1800mg and Glycine = +/- 5gr every day and don't feel any side effects. But, I've to confess that I'm taking also a big numbers of supplements like fisetin, AAKG, CoQ10, glucosamine + MSM + chrondroitine, lithium orotate 10mg, spermidine, citicoline, piracetam, sulforaphane, lutein, zeoxanthin, tumeric, quercetin, NMN, resveratrol, creatine, magnesium, zinc, b-complex, vitamin C slow release, etc... and doing some power lifting and love to walk. I'm 61 and freshly retired, so the stress factor is also down. I'm taking glucosamine since my 38y because of a knee pain and never stopped taking that, the pain only came back if I stopped for 3 weeks or so... I think this supplement do make me look much younger than my age, people are always surprised when I say my real age. My 3 sisters are just a bit older (1-2y), no one took that supplement and they all look their age (we have the same parents)... Hope this can help other people looking for healthspan/lifespan.

I literally just took a screen shot of your comment to order some products for my mum. Taken together you must experience a great synergy of effect with a supplement regimen as comprehensive as that. Thank you in advance 😃

    • @Pierre-Leloup
      @Pierre-Leloup ปีที่แล้ว

@@AS-gz8oe Hi, I'm from Belgium, yes indeed this is at all not cheap, you've to look for the best price you can get into your country ! 12y ago I was a smoker and when I decided to stop with that costly addiction, I tought it was better to invest the same amount in "healthier plants" ! So I became interessed in all that "longevity" stuff. I'm not as smart as Mister Physionic but there is much information on the Internet, you've to read much about it and view much video content on YT. Then, you've to make your own opinion, choices and trials, all in function of your (or your mum) health condition and also your budget. If I had to limit the numbers I would stick with Glucosamine (Kirkland with MSM is excellent and cheap), GlyNac, Taurine 3-6gr, Creatine, Magnésium Taurate, Vit C slow release, Vit B complex, Melatonin < 3mg and Lithium Orotate. For mental aid: Piracetam and Citicoline.

I will watch the full video, because this subject is very interesting.
I'm currently supplementing with a low dose of NAC and Glycine.
(2 times a day of 500 mg NAC and 1000 mg of Glycine).
What I remember from the research, is that they utilized much more!
I speculate that keeping up the Glutathion level high will also help NAD+. Because that would reduce some NAD+ consumers.
So I don't do anything extreme for that, just enough of B3, in the form of Nicotinamide.
There are many who talk about precursors of NAD. But I think that we should focus more on reducing its consumers.
I would also suggest that Taurin would keep the mitocondria from producing excessive ROS. So, some synergy there?
