First let’s start on the roof. I have 500 watts of solar, all in parallel going into a combiner box. This way if there is ever shading on any of the panels it won’t affect the others.
They connect to a 30-amp Victron charge controller.
I have 270 amps of lithium batteries and a 2000-watt inverter.
There is a 12-gauge cord connected directly into the back of the outlet from the inverter. From there, I have 12-gauge wires, going through the frame and into an outlet where my power cord is located.
Using a 30-to-15-amp adapter, I just plug the shore cord into the outlet and now all the outlets in the RV are hot. We can only run the microwave, hair dryer and coffee pot separately.
New shocks were added to the front and back. That made a BIG difference driving this thing. Up graded the valve extensions, and the holder is now riveted to the hub.
Added TPMS to all six tires on the RV, plus the tow vehicle.
All the side windows were fogged up, they were replaced with Laminate glass at RV glass solutions in Coburg, Or. They will never fog up again. I replaced Slide toppers on both sides. New backup camera was added. Reinforced the bedroom floor slide out.
The old battery compartment is now storage with power.
After I turn on the inverter, I have a toggle switch to turn the converter off. Inverter on, converter off, plugged into shore power or running the generator, converter on.
Removed the old chair and installed a little storage cabinet with AC power below. The paint on the cabinets after 5 years have been holding up great so far. After sanding everything, I put one coat of oil base primer on the cabinets and walls, then two coats of water base semi-gloss enamel
New 32” tv, replaced the old lights with LEDs. After watching HillBilly RV and VLRV on TH-cam, I put a shut off valve on the toilet. Just incase my toilet starts to have issues.
The best thing about the RV is all the room we have while the slides are in. We have full access to the Couch, table, stove, microwave, fridge, bathroom and bed. Everything except the bedroom closet.

Looks like we have a very similar solar set up. I will most likely go with lithium when my current battery bank gives up the ghost. Great tour of your rig. 👍 Sean

Thanks Sean. Yes. Lithium is the way to go. A lot cheaper now, than when I bought these batteries.

You know I never check the MPG on the rig. It can't be worse than my Chevy pickup pulling the 5th wheel. Thanks Don. I'll be back July 1st for a few more months.
