@@DJYeeJay for sure, it doesn't throw it off by a ton, and like i said, the video does a great job of laying things out for people just starting out/wanting to get into iRacing. The only reason I know the discount is because I'm at about 30 pieces of content and don't get the 20% (for now!) haha

When I first started iRacing I would have thought that cost to be high. But now after about 6 months, it's not that bad!
If you want to buy everything at once, it’s ridiculous, but spreading it out over a couple years ends up being still a lot, but doable

Very informative video for those wondering about the cost in a worst case scenario (buying all at once). Don't know many people who do that or can afford to. Reality is many (I would think) purchase as needed and bundle as much as they can as they go. Also, can't believe you didn't include the Participation credits! A brief mention was all you gave it but I believe it is a great way to offset this cost for many people. Overall, this was an informative piece! 👍
Ya for 1 year of participation credits it takes a small dent out. I actually just added that to the spreadsheet but didn't talk about it really in the vid.
I got an unexpected 4k back pay check from disability. Which I used about 10 percent to get the rest of the NASCAR stuff I was missing at the time. Still haven't raced official on some of it. I still kinda regret doing so though, buying as needed is a much better prospect!
Edit: Sorry not trying to be all "oh ho look at me!" Just sharing my experience from the other side of the coin.
All I’m gunna say is I’m blown away by how expensive it is $700 worth of content for some tracks and stuff wow that’s straight up ridiculous I was really wanting to get into iracing nascar but now I’m reconsidering lol
I hear you! I'm just getting into sim racing and am not even a real-life racing fan but I love playing racing games (sorry sims-🙄). But as soon as I settled into my racing rig, I was thinking about what I could upgrade. And now looking at doing something a little more "official" with iRacing.... 😬 - Things are getting pricey fast!
@@tattoodude8946I just got it recently myself and yeah, I knew the prices before. I'm gonna try and keep it in the lowest class until I'm more comfortable with seeing value in moving up.
n2003 is free and NH5 is decent as well
@@tigerwolf721 Nascar heat five is terrible especially for online multiplayer. I agree with nr2003 except many people don't have the knowhow or knowledge to be able to get nr2003 to work especially since you have to install hacked versions of the game in order for it to work anyhow. I will admit though that nr2003 is still the second best Nascar experience behind iracing which is actually the same company after trading of Papyrus assets over the years. Technically given that iracing owns Nascar Racing and has the rights again to make games, I wouldn't get loud if you have an un-official copy of nr2003 since it could soon become pirating which is why at this point I got iracing so that at least I paid money for access.

To save some money you can buy iracing dollars instead of using paypal because paypal uses a exchange fee (i go from euro to usd) and because i use iracing credit (iracing dollars) you get also a better fee when checking out in iracing itself
Thanks for doing this! I'm going to get into NASCAR iRacing this month during the Black Friday sale (I think it's 50 percent off for two years during the sale) and have been trying to figure out how much it is going to cost me going in. Going to definitely focus on the NASCAR ladder for now but I wouldn't mind exploring IndyCar on the side (though I know it's not known as "IndyCar" anymore...).

So in a nut shell buy all the ovals and entry level stock cars aka late models and truck. I just currently did a pc build to upgrade my old rig and bought a logitech g923 set up and getting into sim racing. Been putting it off finally flipped the switch.
Let me ask you, do you think teams that have several drivers in a race, can choose the farther back runner to bring a caution purposely when needed to potentially change race scenarios for their front runner? I would assume it would be easy, making high level results for solo's highly luck dependent.

Daytona and Charlotte are both free and there are a total of 25 tracks that NASCAR raced on this year not counting the Coliseuml. That's $345 minus the 2 free tracks plus $12 for the 1 car that you need. Also that's without any discount.
Number of cars is 5. Arca, Trucks, Xfinity, 87's, and Cup.
I started in Road. I'm slowly adding ovals. I bought the NextGen so I could practice in Carb Cup without having to buy too many tracks. Turns out I got the A license in a few weeks.
You can get to A with only a couple cars.
Run Arca until you're D4.0, then race C Legends or C Street until you're C4.0. Buy a B car and run until B4.0 then run the Cup Car.
Yep! I'm gonna make a vid on that eventually "how to get an A License for however much that costs" You can actually run rookie series til D4.0 then go straight to c streeters and skip arca entirely, so you only need to buy the B car and race that at a free track
@@DJYeeJay Good point. I think I had my D car before I had considered running rookies to 4.0. I think Legends is cleaner than street stocks. I actually did the Whelon Modifieds. I ended up buying Arca and IndyCar too. I have too many damn cars. I think I'm going to feel like a rookie forever.

With that price I bought Raceroom (all content), assetto corsa, assetto corsa competizione, rfactor 2, Nascar Heat 5, automobiliasta, Dirt 1 and 2, WRC games and more like forza and more, and Iracing want me to pay monthly, and still pay for cars and tracks. Not surprising they will never have over their 200000 people. It's absurd. And for that price you don't even have anything as a career mode for single player users. I prefer solo with AI and even that for a game costing you near 1000 dollar. and need to subscribe to play. I would like to play nascar series (Solo) just like in Nascar heat 5, but would probably cost me over 500 just to have my series set to play solo.... Nope even if it is the greatest race sim ever (and even that it is not)
I have so many questions. Anyone willing to email back and forth to answer some of those?

imo iracing is an absolute rip-off for the money it costs. but let's be real it is the best sim out there if you want high quality, competitive racing pretty much 24/7

I don’t mind that they charge money for the service they provide but it’s over priced. It costs almost 12$ Canadian to buy 1 vehicle or track and that’s just 1 small example. It is the best sim available so we’re kind of forced to pay up or shut up .
