Hubee57, Thanks! The Kasperwings we fly today have twice the thrust of the original machines, they are far more more fun than single cylinder UL you remember. We have also upgraded many other features to improve performance and safety.
love this video.. amazing .. is it possible to come over to flying site and watch you guys flying up close?!! is there any requirement to fly kasperwing?! LSA?! i do hang gliding, paragliding and speed flying and i like to learn to fly what you guys fly. i enjoyed every single second of this video..
Driftseen, The Kasperwing is a FAR Part 103 aircraft, no certification or license is required to operate. Production ended in the late 1980's with 333 Kasperwings being produced by Cascade Ultralights, occasionally a used machine surfaces for sale on the internet, they are usually well worn. I will forward your comment to Scott Price who owns the field, visitors are welcome.
Jim,Drop in (north Camano) for a visit next time you are up in your B1RD.A few fight worthy KWs are still about, more often they are in need of extensive upgrading and repair. A small number of replica KWs have been built but it is a difficult and time consuming project, there are no published plans available. Ebay, Barnstormers and Kasperwing.com are the place to find a project KW ultralight.
@@StewartMidwinter Most commercial and light aircraft are produced with a control yoke. I think flying without spars and steering with toggles is wrong.
@@olsonspeed well, this isn't a commercial aircraft. And it's not a general aviation aircraft either. It's simply an ultra light and weight shift control is used for pitch if I saw correctly. It would be less of an odd bird if it had a joystick, like all the ultra lights and almost all of the light aircraft that I have flown.
Jack,
This is your best yet. Great shots! Very interesting.
Great video...I flew one back in the early 1980's it was great fun...

Or is there something similar
Only available as "preowned", check Kasperwing.com, Barnstormers & Craigslist. There are many U/Ls the Kaspwing is unique in it's control system.

@@arthurjensen5786 Yes, we agree.
Just wrong to put a steering wheel on an aircraft.

@StewartMidwinter The Kasperwing has unique wing tip control surfaces, wing sweep, a pusher engine, swing seat and no tail.
