Bro, this show has that MAPPA feel to it and after doing some digging, there's a big reason why it does.
The director, Sunghoo Park, is a former employee of MAPPA Studios and this is his brand new studio doing the animation that he created in 2021.
This is his studio's 1st big production of an anime
Also no, there isn't a manga for this or anything of the sort before this.
This is a brand new fully original anime that isn't an adaption

The anime had a strong start. There are some aspects that I felt could have been done better, such as the placement of the insert song when his family got murdered and not using flashbacks so many times (the last one before he fought what I presume to be The Reaper was particularly unnecessary) but other than that it’s just my eyes going forward!
