I made something with a few more links and the equations become a problem. Then I tried with point masses connected by springs as in your bouncing ball video. That scales up much better.
I can imagine. The equations with the springs are linear. Also errors propagate linearly. For the coupled pendulums it quickly gets a mess, unfortunately.
