The "back of the crane mirrors" are so you can see the drums from the cab of the crane. It is important to know if they are spooling correctly.

Yes. The mirror on the model is not quite angled that way.

Conrad seems to concentrate more on robust design and function than on detail. The LRT 1090/1100-2.1 appears to be a nice model overall, but I noticed the ladders on the lower structure are rather simple and "soft" molded-in details, as were more common with diecast construction models of over 10 years ago. NZG has superior detail, and their quality of design and function is very good too, as I have seen. I bought two Conrad models several years ago, and I noticed this "soft" detail was characteristic to both models. I can't fault Conrad's robust design and functionality principle, but they are not up to standard on detail (perhaps some of Conrad's models have better details), in my opinion. That's why for the money, I prefer NZG.

Hey, CranesEtcTV, I have a lot of scale construction equipment ranging from roughly 1:101 to 1:64 scale, and I was wondering would this crane work with 1:64 or is it closer to 1:43?
