    The music is unnecessary and loud at times I couldn't make out what you were saying

    Really neat system! I didn't know stereo cameras were something produced this often / like this back then!

      Kodak actually had a box camera that was stereo even before this! Very rare, but you can still find them for sale.

    The Kodak Stereo was and is an excellent stereo camera. I have a couple of Stereo Realists and a Revere stereo as well as a Kodak. I could challenge anyone to distinguish between a slide shot with a Kodak and a Stereo Realist, even the more expensive 2.8 version of the Realist. The Kodak also is faster to work with. It has one fatal flaw. If it was ever serviced by an amateur, it's difficult to re-assemble without messing up the lenses. I've bought more than one in which the lenses did not focus in tandem. If you buy one, make sure you can return it within 30 days. Run a role of film through it and mount your slides.

      I have gone through a bunch of these cameras and due to their age it's hard to find them in tip top condition. Most have sticky shutters or non-functioning shutter buttons. I do love them though!

    Love the Kodak Stereo, easier to use than the Stereo Realist. The Kodak Stereo was my first 3D camera (purchased in 1988) and started my stereo photography hobby.

    I've been thinking about buying one of these, and your video told me what I need to know. It looks like a great camera, but with no option for a flash attachment I think I'll have to pass on it. Sigh.

    I have a number of stereo film cameras and I have found the Kodak to be the best. I also have a Realist with the 2.8 lenses, but the auto cocking feature on the kodak, it's just so easy to use and everything is easy to get to.

      I just have my Kodak 3-D cameras. The Realist cameras have some high price tags on them!

    Hey thanks for the review and comments.
    I have been working in VR, namely the DeoVr player, for 6 years. I shoot video in 3D.
    And now I’m thinking about buying my first film camera and also a stereo camera. I see that this camera is much more user friendly. But sticky curtains and non-working buttons were mentioned. Did I understand correctly that despite all these shortcomings the camera is not difficult to maintain?
    Returning within 30 days is not for me since I am in Europe and am going to buy one on Ebay on my next visit to the USA

    The development/viewing process definitely seems more complex, i'm looking to see if i can find stuff on that now.

      @LittleKodaks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You’ll need to get them developed as slides an then insert them into stereo slide holders. I think you can find them on eBay!

      @@LittleKodaks I’m making a playlist of variois stuff right now.
      On the note of slide holders etc, i want to see if they can be 3d printed or laser/drag knife cut.
      I know there is a group that makes an Open Source medium format camera!

    Do you have any examples of the 3d images that result?

    • @LittleKodaks
      @LittleKodaks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't have any that I took, pictures of the slides don't do them justice. You need a viewer that lets you see each frame in your left and right eye. Think of using a Viewmaster, but with your own pictures!

    I DIDNT EVEN REALIZE YOU COULD USE FILTERS!!!!

    • @randallstewart1224
      @randallstewart1224 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The filter information in the video is not quite correct. To use a pair of filters on this camera, you unscrew the retaining ring on the front of the lens (as noted in the video), however you use a "Series" (unthreaded) filter which is then held in place by reattaching that retaining ring. When this camera was made (latter 1950s) Series system filters were the standard. Use of threaded filters which screw directly to the front of the lens didn't really catch on until the very late 1950s. From the look of it, the Kodak Stereo probably takes a Series IV or V size. The advantage of the Series filter system was that you bought one set of filters and could adapt them with accessory, threaded rings to fit different sized lenses.

    Turn down the music or speak up! I lasted less than 4 minutes. Good thing I didn’t subscribe. Shame though. there were other videos I WAS interested in.
