Phil, thanks very much for doing this vlog at my request. Excellent insight of how to clean the skylights. Tough job but well worth it. Will get on it on my next days off , weather permitting 🤞🏻. I do the windows just as you do and again give them a good going over with silicone spray on a micro fibre cloth. All good. Thanks again pal. 👍🏻 Phil G
Hi Phil. You are more than welcome. As I said, The van came back from the Dealers and was really bad so it was a perfect opportunity to record the video. I am pleased it is of use. Many Thanks Phil.👍🙂
Hi Phil, Good tips there 👍. Like you, will give our skylights a clean when our van goes away for winter. It’s nice to start the new season with a clean caravan. Cheers, Rob & Gail 😀
Hi Phil, We are new to your channel, only recently found the channel. We have been watching some of your tinkering vlogs and some very useful. We have a 2021 swift and checked our front decals and they had started to slightly bubble, so I cleaned the gutter and applied some black ct1. Also checked my roof straps and resealed. Cleaned my waste with elbow grease. Thanks for all these great tips, please keep them coming. Paul and Joanne 👍
Hi Paul & Joanne. Welcome to you both. I am so pleased that you have been tinkering. Juliet and I try our best to provide help based on our own experiences. There are plenty of "How to videos "as well which will help you with your Swift and keep in tip top condition. Many Thanks Phil & Juliet👍🙂
Thanks Lynn. The bathroom skylight is a battle to keep clean. They have removed this type of skylight now and fitted a standard one. I wish mine was standard too. Many Thanks Phil.🙂👍
Thanks for the video, I cleaned my roof skylights a couple of weeks ago - leaves stuck in there already! Need to very careful not to cross thread when putting it back on (I didn't but could be easily done).
Hi Phil. If you detach the Heki handles the glass folds all the way forward making cleanig the hinge side easy. Better still, you can now remove the hinge push pins and lift the whole glass off.
Great bit of advice and instruction! While you have your head through the hole, a bit of polish or protective surface finisher of your choice wouldn’t go amiss to reduce the rate of soiling maybe?
Hi J. Yes that is a great idea. I usually treat the whole roof once it is fully cleaned but as you say treatment around the skylights would be a belts and braces approach. Thanks for your advice. Phil🙂👍
Hi phill I have a question my caravan is in storage in the caravan and motorhome club am I allowed to wash it in storage have you heard of this being done I wouldn't be using a hose I would be using a 5lt pump sprayer with the caravan cleaner in it ?
Hi Paul. If your van is in storage, I don't see an issue but you could always check with the Site Manager. Thanks Phil.👍🙂 May I recommend the linked video as a great way to clean your van. th-cam.com/video/XvbedPUIjVs/w-d-xo.html
Using a scourer on the roof paintwork, not even a non stick one which is less abrasive? 🤔Would you use a scourer on your car bodywork? Brave man if you would.
It wouldn't be Sunday without these. Love them!
Many Thanks I am glad you like them. Cheers Phil. 👍🙂

Cheers Phil. Another good video. Think that’s going to be my next job.

A good way to make sure you don’t lose small screws is to put a small piece of white tack on the end of the driver.
Hi Andrea. Thats a great idea, I will adopt that next time I am fixing something. Many thanks Phil.👍🙂

Hi Paul swifts from 2018 are not painted. Having used it on other vans I have never had an issue. I do take your though. Thanks Phil 🙂👍
