What I really love is how crowded and alive the community lots feel in this game.
The first time a sims game had “weather”
The quality of your content is remarkable! Just now playing Sims 2 and binging your videos aside.
I got into The Sims late as I started with The Sims Life Stories then The Sims 2 but getting into the first game this is my favorite expansion.
I was so disappointed as a child that the Sims couldn't swim in the ocean at beach.
whenever you make one of these videos i'm always appalled that what used to be a single expansion in earlier games turns into 2 expansions, a game pack and a stuff pack in sims 4
It’s shocking tbh
I think we don't appreciate this expansion enough these days, cause back when it was released it was the first chance for our Sims to have a day off of work or school. Going Downtown only offered a short trip to a shopping district, but you couldn't really survive for several days there. Holiday destinations allowed us to be away from home for as long as our money allowed it, have all the necessary items to fulfill our needs and not have to go to work/school every single day.
Hearing yodeling in ska music was formative for me. No going back, my taste in music was forever altered
An unexpected vibe for sure
From the music, to the worlds and the added gameplay, I loved absolutely everything about this expansion pack! The beach was always my favorite one to play.
I seem to remember a bear rug that they could woo hoo on. The rug was definitely in the wintery part of the vacation land. Woo Hoo? That part I might have imagined, but it's a great idea!

Oh this was so much better then the vacations in Sims4. More to do, more different locations. Yes, we do have a beachworld and snowworld but you can't build a hotel there with NPC animators and even the activities in Granite Falls are boring. And do you see the slides... I miss that kind of stuff.
I still remember when this first came out, my sister and I had an egg timer, and would take turns playing the same family, so we could do everything...lol (all the other packs we played our own created households).
Honestly, since we rarely took vacations (except camping), I thought this is what rich people do, but to do all of it, you have to be ultra rich!
I used to play The Sims so often but every time I watch your Retro Reviews I'm reminded how hard it was/how much I missed! So good.
I was so obsessed with the vacation pack, especially the beach section! Gotta love getting food poisoning from eating at the buffet with low hygiene lmao
this was my first pack ever. the soundtrack alone hits me hard to this day, i feel at peace. i love it

The Sims actually first got access to inventory slots with Hot Date, not Vacation!

I think World Adventures from the Sims 3 should have taken on this vacation-world style with different biomes, instead of making crude caricatures of real cultures. Their depiction of China especially is very cringe.

I would say this expension pack was revolutionary in one more way than just vacation: for the first time we've had snow and sand in The Sims, waaaaay before The Sims 2 Seasons.
And frankly each generation introduces expansions that *have to be* in future generations. With TS1 there were Vacations and Pets, with TS2 - University and Seasons, with TS3 - Careers and Generations (TS4 is a mess and we will see with The Sims 5 if Simmers will want any particular TS4 expansion coming back).
I think sims 1 should be gifted to every 6-13 years old on how the world should function

I LOVED the gathering tickets in order to get better rewards aspect of Sims 1 vacations. I wish that were a more prominent gimmick used in later incarnations of the Sims. >.

It's super late at night and I just found your channel and.... you're really good at this... Recommend you create some Shorts to grow your channel! Regardless, I hope you keep making videos. I just came from your Hot Date review, and thought to myself, "does she always dress like that or did she do it because of Hot Date?" And then I come to this one and see that you're dressed like this! Love the effort. Also, love these Sims 1 reviews... I spent hundreds of hours on this game. I think it came out when I was like 5, so obviously it's a massive nostalgia trip.

I noticed you had 'vagina pineapple playing in the back ground lol 😂 😂 I loved this pack, but the lappy i had back then just couldn't handle it, so off we went to get a computer that could handle all the packs yay!
I loved all the holiday destinations, they all had a different vibe to them, and my Sims always had loads to do too. I honestly don't think there is a pack i don't like, so hard to score them, just so much charm and fun :D

hi kirce!! what do u think abt the sims 4 not having hotels in the same way that the sims 1 was able to do?! such as having a hotel hall and only being assigned to ur chosen room... ts4 still lacks in that department when it comes to "vacations" -- which to me is a bizarre difference. holidays in ts1 feel like a community thing, lots of people etc, and in ts4 it feels rather lonely... great content from u as always!
Honestly i can’t believe there are no hotels in ts4 yet… i would have expected a hotel game pack (in the same vein as dine out) long before now!!
I don't know what happened to my latest installation, but I can never find anything else other than money on fishing and metal detecting activities. Probably something to do with Windows 10
I think the odds for treasure are v low but I get a lot of boots
