I'm originally from Massachusetts but I now live in Virginia. Plum Island is Beautiful. I think the thing I love about Plum Island is watching your channel and seeing all the beautiful shells and sand dollars you find. My favorite are the huge moon snail shells you find. Thank you for sharing. I do miss Massachusetts.
Hi Deborah! I am so glad I can bring you back to Massachusetts via the interwebs! Where are you from in Massachusetts? Thank you sommuch for watching ❤️
I’m in Oklahoma and haven’t a chance to go shelling but I absolutely love EVERYTHING about Plum Island. I especially love the dog whelks and moon snails. This is April 21st and tomorrow is my birthday. I will be 73. I am trying to go back and watch all of the videos.❤ Wow!
Hi Merry! I am so sorry it's taken me so long to reply! Happy Birthday to you!! I hope you had a wonderful birthday! Thanks so much for watching my friend!
There are so many cool things you’ve taught me on this channel. From the plum sand, to those huge moon snails with the blue colors that blew the mind of this girl who does most of her shelling in Florida where a large gaudy nautica or shark eye is a fraction of the size. You’ve inspired me to want to come to Plum Island to try to find those, as well as the beautiful deep sea scallops. It also never dawned on this Minnesota girl that you could shell in snow. 🤯 I know you said to mention one favorite thing, but there are so many. Thanks for everything you’ve taught, and continue to teach me!
Hi Michelle! Thank you so much for tuning in and adventuring with me! Yes...shelling in the snow is a blast as long as you are dressed for it. Most days I have 3 or 4 shirts on and 2 to 3 pairs of pants! Sometimes I have a hard time bending for the shells I have so many layers! Haha. Yes! Come for a visit! Ve share to check before you book. Right now the beaches are closed for nesting plovers. They open again in August and September is an amazing time to come for shells! You can always email me for shell locations too! Reachbiut when you are ready! Thanks again for the support!
Thank you! I didn’t even think of that. I know Shell Island in the Ten Thousand Islands is closed for bird nesting season, but I guess beaches didn’t even cross my mind. You taught me something new today! I’m working on my husband to see if he’ll come with me. I finally got him into shelling this year and he loves history, so I’m hoping he’ll want to come with me. If not, I’ll have to see about a solo or girls trip. Thank you so much again for all you teach us and for the fun of virtually joining you on your adventures! 😊
My favorite thing about Plum Island is your personality and outlook on life. Your joy of the beach and shelling there is contagious. When I watch your videos, my heart is full. I feel like I have known you for years. You are so knowledgeable and sincere and your love for what you bring to us all in your videos shines through. Keep that happy smile coming. It brightens my day. Those shells are all pretty special!
Hi Freda! Thanks again for your kind words, the watches, your comments and your order. I really appreciate the support for my venture! I am so glad to be able to share a little slice of Plum Island with you. If you ever get to visit, let me know. ❤️🌊✌️
Oh Jaime! I've learned so much! Where to begin? I learned about the golden fibers that mussels use to bind to rocks, other shells and each other. That these fibers were once used to make clothing. And how the mussels grow in beds on the sea floor, and provide shelter for other critters. And that the dark blue moon snails and huge scallops come from the deep waters and are more easily found after nor'easters. And an abundance of other things! I have a much better understanding of shore ecology than before. So thank you! Hugs from Virginia.
Hi Karleen! Hugs to you my friend! Hey - did you ever check out that link i shared with you about the woman in Italy that makes the clothing out of Byssus? If you haven't watched yet, check it out, it's incredible! Thank you for always tuning in my friend!
The best thing about Plum Island is that you take the time to film all the wonderful treasures that the island has to offer. I love the big moonies, shells are so fascinating :)
Hi Vicki! Thank you so much! I love being able to share all the magic of the Island! Thank YOU for taking the time to watch! And yes, those big moons! Total moon swoon every time!
I love starting my morning w With a video from you. It is like a visit back to my childhood. My grandmothers we're in Massachusetts and Maine. We moved to Florida when I was 6 and have lived near the water the whole 68 years we have lived here. I have learned from you that although Plum island has beautiful plum colored sand it is named for the incredible plums that grow on the island . I would give anything to be able to spend time on your incredible island and watch the patterns the tides and wind make on the sand. I guess I will to be content to enjoy your videos and vicariously go back home. Someone said you can never go home again but now thanks to U-tube you can .
I love this so much and I am so happy that through the magic of TH-cam and the internet, I can transport you back. I will be doing some videos in Maine as well so be sure to watch for those too ❤️ Thank you so much for tuning in! 😊
As a native Floridian, it was a surprise to learn there are blue shells and purple sand. I love them! Those tiny whelks are soooo cute. Thank you for braving the cold to find such fascinating things like the vertebrae. Stay safe!
Hey Sandy! Thank you and thanks for tuning into my adventures! There are so many cool things about the Island and yes...those baby whelks on the cape last weekend. Amazing! I can't wait to head back after a storm! Stay tuned for more videos!
What I love best about Plum Island is the diversity of the shells! I have never seen shells like these coming from the west coast. They are beautiful! 🐚
Yes! We get a lot of different shells here! ❤️ but...I am in love with the west coast sand dollars and especially the fossilized ones! I hope to make a trip one day to find them!! Thanks so much for watching!!
I am so in love with the different shells that are found on beaches all over the world. I love the views from the island and the ways that the ocean reacts in the different seasons. It is truly beautiful there.
Love the fact that you aren’t afraid of the cold to hit the beach for shelling. Thank you for sharing your beach with all of the chickens that to scared of the cold, burr.
Hi Lisa! No matter the weather, we are like postal workers...rain, sleet, snow, blizzards...no matter the weather, we shell!! Thanks so much for watching!
My favorite thing I’ve learned is that the sand is purple! My very favorite color is purple! Thank you for sharing your piece of Heaven with all of us!
Hi Tina!!! How are you my shell friend? My favorite color is blue and then purple so with those large blue moons and the purple sand I am for sure in heaven! Haha. You are so very welcome! Thank YOU for watching! I super appreciate you!
I've seen the Mermaid Purses before but never knew what they were called or what animal they were to. Never realized how many different kinds of seaweed there was! Very cool to learn about the purple sand and how the Island got is name😁. Northern snails are 👍 awesome. Very cool that you get them on the Island 😍. They are absolutely ❤️ beautiful. Hooray for your first shark eye! Looks like you had a blast. Love how you teach us about all the shells and more Can't wait to hear who wins👍
Hi Matt! Thanks for coming along on my adventure!! Yes...those skate eggs are awesome. If you get a chance, Google "baby skate fish" you need the "fish" or roller skates will come up. Lol. But they are very cute and look like they are smiling! :) There is so much magic on Plum Island. Thank you so much for continuing to watch my videos! I appreciate all the support! Shell well my friend!
I’ve learned so much! That it doesn’t have to be warm and sunny to go shelling. I’ve learned about wampum and made a jar for a Keeper of the Wampum that I know. My favorite thing I’ve learned is that rose quartz and garnet are the reason for the purple-looking sand on Plum Island. So pretty!! Beaches don’t have to have white sand to be pretty. I’ve learned that I need to consider other locations than Florida for my shelling vacations. Thank you, Jaime, for sharing your walks and knowledge with us!!
Hi Kathy! Thank you so much for watching!! I really appreciate you always tuning into my videos and commenting! I love that you made a wampum jar! There were so many purple quahogs this past weekend! Not many smooth bits, but I collected some of the whole shell. So pretty! Yes - most people I talk to only think about warm water places to shell, but are now excited to discover Plum Island! I am so happy to give people more shelling opportunities for some great finds! Thank you so much for coming along on my adventures! Shell well my friend and I will see you next time we hit the beach!
I used to think that shells from the northern Atlantic coast were kind of dull and boring! No more! I have been enchanted by the shells that you find and absolutely love the large shark eyes/moon shells and deep sea scallops! I love to watch your videos!
Hi Pamela! Thank you so much! Yes...I love both warm water and cold water shelling, but what I really love abiut cold water shelling is the strategy thatbis involved. On warm water beaches it seems shells are in abundance, but here you have to really do some research and watch the tides, surf forcast and know where to look. Inlike the challenge and it makes hitting a big shell score that much sweeter! 🥰 thank you so much for watching!!
da da da da.....drum roll...my vote is for the second sharkeye you found!! Absolutely stunning! On the top it looks like creme brule, or coffee with a swirl of white cream. Also you are even better than the postman! Not snow, wind or rain can keep you from shelling. You really need a super heros' cape!❤
Oh! I would love to wear a cape! Haha - It could have a giant moon snail on it! Yes - that 2nd one was awesome! Also - I love your "creme brule" analogy. I am a giant foodie and often compare my finds to food! lol. Thank you so much for watching!!!
Hi Annetta! Yes - that plum color sand is 😍 dreamy! And the Island is a little slice of heaven. I am so glad I can share it with you 🌊✌💜Thank you so much for watching!
My favorite thing that I've learned from watching your channel is that the shark eye shells I collected for years get BIG up there on Cape Cod! I never knew they grew larger than a couple inches, tops! Thanks for opening my eyes to the world outside the Gulf of Mexico!
Yes! And can you believe that in CA they can grow to be over 5"!? I hope to shell there someday and find a mega moon that big! Thanks for coming along on my adventures!!
The very most favorite thing I learned from watching you, not necessarily about plum island, is that we have sea horses! I grew up on the ocean here and never knew we had them!
Hey there friend! Yesssss! Now if we can find one, that would be amazing! We need a seahorse detector instead of a metal detector ;) Maybe we would have better luck! lol I am hopeful and I really do think we will find one! Thanks for always coming along on my adventures!
The favorite thing I've learned about Plum Island is how beautiful NE beaches can be especially for shelling as so many mistakenly believe the southern beaches are the only beaches to find great shells.
Hi Jaunita! Thank you so much for watching! Yes - I didn't realize until I started this channel that most shellers go tropical. It's fun to see how many shellers are shocked at the shells we find here in NE. It's a little more challenging to find them here, but that makes it that much more rewarding when you hit a big score! Thank you so much for tuning in and coming along on my adventures!
Hello First let me tell you how exciting it is to shell with you. It’s always fun. The treasure hunt never gets old of. I live in Florida and my passion is shelling. What I have learned from watching your videos is the northern moon snail. I never new such beautiful and Hugh moon snail’s excited. I find many shark eyes in Florida some pretty big, but the moon snails you find are amazing. Thank you for taking me shelling with you. Look forward to future hunts.
Hi Merrie! Thanks so much for coming along on my adventures! Can you believe that the northern moon in some places in Canada can reach up to 6"? Whoa. The largest one I've found on the Island was 4.25". Incredible! I would love to find a 6" Moon! I am heading down to do some Florida shelling later this month! I am excited! Thanks so much for supporting my channel with your views! I super appreciate it!
@@PlumIslandSeaCabin There are some great shelling beaches here. Panama City beaches, Marco Island shelling tours, Pass a grille beach in St. Pete’s, and of course Sanibel beaches. Hope you take home many treasures.
I love when you go shelling after major storms when you find the huge moon snails and the swirls of different colours 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 ohhh and also the purple in the sand x
Hey Julie from the UK! Thanks for joining me again 🤗 I super appreciate the support! Yes! Storms! I am waiting for the next storm to hit to drive back to the Cape to hopefully score a nice fat whelk! That would be AMAZING! So stay tuned for that! Also...yes - agreed...that lush purple sand! 💜
Oh that is wonderful. You found the shell you have been looking for. What have I learned from your channel? I have learned the joy of shelling. I have learned about all the different kinds of shells and lots more. Oh it brings my heart joy to watch you and to go shelling with you from here. Oh I’m so glad I stumbled across your channel. It has brought me so much pleasure. Thank you for taking me along with you on your shelling hunts. I enjoy them so much. Q: what is a mermaids purse….. I mean I know it is an egg sack, but what comes out of it? Again thank you for bringing joy to me through your channel. Take care 😊🐚💜
Oh my goodness Ginny! Thank you so much and it brings ME joy knowing that you are enjoying shelling with me :) I am so glad you found my channel as well. Ahhh...the mermaids purse! It contains a skate! A skate is similar to a sting ray, but not the same. If you can, Google "baby skate fish" they are so cute - they smile! Or watch this... weather.com/science/nature/video/dancing-baby-skates-astound
@@PlumIslandSeaCabin thanks for the link. You have mentioned them before but I didn’t know what they were. I have learned so much from you. Take care 😊🐚💜
What I love most about Plumb Island shelling is the interesting and informative facts that you share. I have learned so much from watching your videos. I am new to shelling and admire your dedication in all kinds of weather, day or night to shelling and sharing your adventures with us. Thank you!
Hi Tina! Yesssssss!!! That dolphin vertebrae - good thing I had my sister with me! That was a great score! And the shark eyes were a first for me! We don't get those that far north on Plum Island. What a fun trip! Looking forward to more beach fun! Thanks for coming along my friend!
Although I was born and raised in New England, I never understood where Plum Island got its name. I was so excited when I learned about the purple sand and the plum trees that grow there. Thank you for solving that life-long puzzle for me.
Thanks for a chance at the giveaway!!! I learned Plum Island is a great place to vacation!!! Plum island has a lot of shells I can’t find in Texas!!! I learned Plum island is darn cold in the winter! Lastly you have the biggest moon snails I have ever seen!!! Plus… we have you to educate us!!!💞🎉
Hi there my friend! Yes - the giveaway! I love doing them so fun and the dog whelk jar is chock full. I didn't get a full video clip of it, but I almost couldn't get the cork in! Haha. Thanks for always joining me on my beach journeys! Part 2 is coming soon!
I never knew that Plum Island had such beautiful scallops and huge moon snails and the unique purple sand! Most of all though I did not realize the beauty of nature that exists there even in the middle of freezing cold weather!
I love that Plum Island has purple sand! So fitting isn't it! What I have learned about Plum Island through watching your videos is that there are more interesting finds, places to explore, and creatures to find than I thought. I did not realize that Plum Island is where all the sandollars are at either 😉 Love the videos and education as always!
Hi Melissa! Thank you so much for watching! Yes...so many sand dollars! Sand dollars for days! I love searching the Emerson Rocks for them! We will have to wait until Fall now since the beach is closed for plovers until August. But...that will give us something to look forward to. Thanks again for watching!
I've learned that no matter the weather, shelling can be done, n there are always super cool surprizes!!! You are so informative n I love it when you share your knowledge with us. You always brighten my day!
Thank you so much Ann! You brighten my day too! Thank you so much for watching! And yes...the snowy, rainy and cold days are the best days to shell! There are always beach treasures to be found! Thanks so much for coming along on my beach adventures! ✌️🌊❤️
Hi Allison! Yes - so lush and the color is so saturated when it's wet. I stare at it for at least 5 minutes each time I see it on the beach! lol. Thanks for watching!
Hi Dan! The shells and nature on the island are truly mind blowing. Thank you so much for tuning in and checking out my channel! I really appreciate it. New beach adventure coming soon!
@@PlumIslandSeaCabin hi. I am actually dans wife laura. Using the email this iPad set up when he got it with the purchase of his phone. Anyways just thought I would let you know i enjoy. As we are in the Midwest and are farmers we dont get to experience walks on the beach. If we could I would b a shelloholic! Watching your video s gives me a feeling like I'm finding them too. Hi Mary! I love the pic you posted on Facebook! Yes! You for sure have to visit and collect some giant moons for your collection. Thanks for always showing my channel some love! Shell well my friend!
Oh my! So easy!! I LOVE those giant blue deep water snail shells you find. That and the fact that you normally have the entire beach to yourself while you're filming. Thanks Jaimie!😍
Hi G.G.!! 👋 So good to see you here! Yes...quiet beach days are my favorite which is why I love to beach in bad weather so much. Hahaha. Thank you for always adventuring with me! See you next week on the beach dear friend!
The best part is "You". We love your enthusiasm! And your knowledge.. You live in a cool place and hope in the near future to go shelling in Plum Island.

Hi KitKat! Thank you so much for watching and you are so very welcome! Yes - we are lucky because we get a wide variety of shells here on the Island! And yes - those dog whelks are becoming a favorite of mine! I love all the banded ones and all the colors they come in!
Hi Linda! When you get a chance, look them up on TH-cam...they are fascinating- especially how they burrow into the bottom of the ocean floor. Thabks so much for watching!
Hi Rosie! Yes - cold water shells and warm water shells are so different and I love them both for so many reasons! It's so fun to be able to go to different areas and hunt for different shells! Thank you so much for watching!
The best thing about plum island is you! You give us so much information about all the things on the island. My favorite shell is the big moon snails! Love your videos! Thank you!❤️
You are so nice to me 🤗❤️🥰 Thank you so much. I am so grateful for everyone watching ❤️ I appreciate the support and I am so glad I can pass along what I research and learn about shells and the Island. 🌊✌️ more giant moons and purple sand to be found this some. I love all the different shells that you find, I would love to be able to do it!! I'm 65 and disabled and it makes me so happy to be able to see and learn the different types of shells you find!!!!

What have I learned that up north in the US you can still find seashells in the freezing cold with snow and ice, incredible! Thanks for entertaining and teaching us about Plum Island :)
Hi Humberto! Thanks for watching! Yes - snow shelling is one of my most favorite things to do! It's very fun as long as you are dressed properly for the weather! Part 2 of this past weekend is coming soon! Stay tuned!
Hi Jaime! Love the finds! So cool! To pick one would be like picking your favorite child. Lol. But here goes… thinking the purple sand and the large moon snails are my favorites ~. Didn’t know they existed. Love that you take the time to explain and research your finds. Thanks and happy shelling!!!!
Hi Susan! Happy Shelling to you too! An thank you so much for watching! Haha - it is hard to pick just one! When I try I think XL moons, but then the markings and colors on the dog whelks are just as amazing! Haha. Oh well - good thing we really don't have to choose and we can keep finding them all :) See you next week on the beach!
Hi Chris! Yes - the plums are really interesting and small compared to regular plums! Google a pic if you get a chance! They are cool to see. Thanks for always taking the time to watch! Part 2 of this weekend is coming soon!
I've learned how the same ocean can spew out the same shells but with different sizes and appearances than other areas. Also....the fabulous purple sands. Would love a small jar of that, as well
Yesssss! Isn't that amazing? Same shells, slightly different look depending on the area 🥰 and yes...that deep purple sand 💜 Thank you so, so much for watching Merrie!
Yes - most people think it's the plum color sand, but nope! :) And yes...that purple sand is super heavenly! Thank you so much for tuning in and coming along on my beach adventures! The beach is so much more fun with friends!
Hi Tammy! Those deep water shells are seriously show stoppers. When I am shelling and I see one, my heart explodes. Haha. Nature is bananas! Thank you so much for coming along on my adventures!
My favorite overall content of your videos is the educational aspect of the various species of shells and sea creatures. The sunrise was also very beautiful!
Yes! I love both a good sunrise and sunset! Also - yes, I try to research as much as I can and relay as much info I can about the island and the finds. Thank you for watching and joining in on the beach fun!
I have learned that giant palm sized blue Moon Shells can be found on Plum Island and you are an intrepid shell hunter who braves the coldest weather conditions to hunt for shells when most of us would rather remain by the heater!
Hi Shari! I do love me a good heater, but I am also obsessed with shells! Haha - see my dilemma? Haha. In all seriousness, snowy winter days are one of my most favorite times to shell! And we always have the entire beach to ourselves! Thank you so much for watching!
Every barrier island has its unique qualities and many similarities: by me in Montauk we have Maroon sand and what I learned from you, the Purple sands on plum island get their color from small crystals of pink pyrope garnet - gotta love nature. The coastlines on the East coast have many similar shells but here on Long Island we have many whelks which you are in search of - come visit anytime 😊 plus can take you on an antique brick hunt.
Hi Bonnie! I am very interested in this brick hunting! I have been flipping over sea bricks ever since you told me about it! Most here are knocked lose from lobster traps - no markings, but I keep searching! And yes, Long Island is definitely on my list of places to visit! Thanks for always coming along on my beach adventures!!
Hi Lesa! Yes - every now and again we get a ton of sand dollars wash up all at once! It's like a strange phenomenon! I love it. Same thing happens with those large Deep Atlantic Sea Scallop shells! So many great treasures! Thank you so much for watching!
Why the sand is purple. I love your channel. Thanks for sharing with all of us. I miss feeling the sand beneath my toes and that crisp wind that blows through your hair.
Hi Roberta! Yes...I live crisp beach days! Shelling in the fall is my most favorite time to shell. Or on a nice snowy morning! I am looking forward to when I can kick my shoes off again and feel the sand 😌 Spring is here. Almost time!
I have learned that Florida isn't the only place there are shells. Plum Island offers a wide variety of the most beautiful shells imaginable. I love me some large of those moon snails. Thx
Hi Bob!! Thanks so much for watching! Yes...I get emails from people shocked abiut the shells here. I think shelling g has been branded as a warm water hobby! I love that people are finding out about our Nee England shells and want to start collecting and shelling New England beaches! So cool. Thank you so much for watching! ✌️
I learned I'd be willing to brave the cold for those gorgeous dark shark eyes. It's interesting how they vary from coast to coast but honestly you are a wealth of information and we really enjoy your channel. Thanks again.
Hello to my plant friend! 🪴 thank you so much! Yes...I am always blown away at how the same species vary from place to place. It's so cool to see and share! Thanks so much for watching!!!
@@PlumIslandSeaCabin 💚🪴🌿 What's on your plant wish list? What does well for you there? I propagate all the time so I have some hoyas, syngonium, holiday cactus and succulents. We have a lot of gray days here so I grow lights but they are tough plants. Look forward to trade🌞
Hi Susan! Thank you so much for watching! Yes! Incredible right? What's funny is that my mom send me an article on them about a month or 2 ago and then my sister found one! So cool! We were stoked!
Hi Susan! Congratulations! Whoop Whoop! You won the PISC Tshirt and jar of dog whelks! Whoohoo! Send me an email with your shipping address to PlumIslandSeaCabin@Gmail.com! Thanks so much for participating and watching!!!!

@@PlumIslandSeaCabin I live north of Pittsburgh. This ocean lover is landlocked. 😞 I try to make it to a beach once or twice a year. So relaxing watching you shell.
Hi Ruby! Yes - we are lucky to get a wide variety here in Plum Island. Many beaches have only a few different types of shells, but here it's like each section of coastline has a new shell to discover! Thanks so much for watching!
I actually never knew that plum island had purple sand! Makes sense! I love the cape!! Those baby whelks that you got out of the egg casing were so cute!!
Look forward to your videos and that your not afraid of the snow, rain or bad weather to bring us your videos. It's fun to see the passion you have doing these videos. Great job and please keep the videos coming ❤️
I have been watching 👀 you for 2 weeks I have learned so much. I am also amazed that you 🐚 in the coldest weather..& the shells are frozen to the rocks. So cool. Love the purple sand 💜 TY

Good for you, Jaime!! Fantastic finds! It is always such great fun to find your "firsts" - and you had 3 that fit that category in this video! The colors on both the shark eyes and the inside of the whelk were beautiful! I have to say the dolphin/whale vertebra part was my favorite ... that's my kind of cookie!!
Hello my dear friend! I was so excited to finally find a whelk! I am excited to go back after a storm to see if I can find a bigger one! And yes! That dolphin vertebrae is so cool! My mom sent me an article about them a month or so ago. I never thought we would find one! And yes! My sister went in the water too 🤣 it was a great weekend!!
I love your videos but again I feel bad because you're sooo cold. I've learned about why the sand is purple, about the lobster traps that wash up, so many things. I'm so glad I found you, Jamie!! ❤🐌🦀🐚
Hi Tammy! I am ok because I have so many layers on! Haha - sometimes I have so many I can't even bend to pick up the shells! Haha. I also have those pocket warmers that you shake to activate. Those work well! Thank you so much for always coming along on my beach adventures! I appreciate the support for my channel!
Hi Amy! Thanks so much for coming along on all my beach adventures! I am glad you are having fun beaching! The purple sand and XL moon shells are some of my favorite things about Plum Island too! Catch you next week on the beach! 🌊✌💜Shell well!

I learned about the diversity of shells that are available. I was unaware that there are so many different types. I also learned what snail egg casings look like. Lol
Yes! The whelk egg casings are very cool! So many people have messaged me that they see them all the time and never knew what they were. It's so fun to share and show it! Thank you so much for watching and see you next time we hit the beach! New video coming soon!
Hi Julie! Yes! The whelk egg casings are so cool. It's amazing how small they start out! I am excited to head back after a storm to gets some larger storm whelks! Hopefully we will get a little bit of weather soon! Thanks so much for watching!!
Hi Patricia! Yes -- come to the Island for a visit. Be sure to check if the beaches are open 1st. They close for nesting plovers until August, but fall is really an amazing time to visit! Thank you so much for watching and if you do plan a trip, hit me up in email!

Hi , my favorite thing I learned was the plum colored sand! Very cool!
Today I learned that Plum Island has beautiful shells and beautiful people. I need to visit there soon
I'm from Westport. Born and raised there.
I learned about Mondo shark eyed shells.
My favorite thing about Plum Island is the fact that the sand is actually a plum color! So beautiful!
Definitely one of my favorite things about the island too! For sure! 💜✌🌊
Hello 👋 Kathleen, how are you doing?
Hi Karleen! Hugs to you my friend! Hey - did you ever check out that link i shared with you about the woman in Italy that makes the clothing out of Byssus? If you haven't watched yet, check it out, it's incredible! Thank you for always tuning in my friend!
My favorite thing about Plum Island is learning that the sand is actually a beautiful Plum color!
Hi Mabel! I do love that purple sand! It sure is amazing to see against the beige dunes and blue sky! Thanks for coming along on this weeks adventure!
My most favorite thing about plum Island is the beautiful moon snails!!
Hi Cathy! I have to say mine too! Especially the large blue ones! 😍✌💜🌊
I agree with you and wish I could have one of those!
I've learned that I need to go to Massachusetts to find a huge moon snail.
I like the way you explain the different types of things that can be found in New England. And sharing the places to go. Very special. Thanks!
Hello 👋 Karen, how are you doing?
Hi Karen! You are so very welcome! Thanks for tuning in and watching my videos! 🌊💜✌
I love starting my morning w
With a video from you.
Hi Michelle! It really is a magical place! Thank you so much for watching!
That Shark Eye is the most beautiful one I have ever seen! Wow!
Did you see how chocolate-y it is? I am such a foodie - all of my comparisons are food related! Haha. But it did look delicious!
My favorite thing about Plum Island is that it is so rustic and untouched. So much to explore and the shells are gorgeous.
Hi Judy! Yes...agreed. there aren't many beaches left that aren't developed. It really is a little slice of heaven!!
I have learned that Plum Island has the most beautiful plum-colored sand and fantastic shells and a wonderful wildlife sanctuary.
Hi Annetta! Yes - that plum color sand is 😍 dreamy! And the Island is a little slice of heaven. I am so glad I can share it with you 🌊✌💜Thank you so much for watching!
I love it when you shell after major storms and find the large moon shells with all the different colours x☠️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Yes! I can't wait to head back to the Cape after the next big storm and hopefully score a large whelk!
I
Used. To live in Haverhill And go clàmiñg wheñ I was little on plum Island 😊😊😊😊😊😊.
Hello
First let me tell you how exciting it is to shell with you.
@@merriezahra8747 I am so looking forward to it! It will be interesting not going to the beach in multiple shirts and layers 🤣

@@PlumIslandSeaCabin thanks for the link. You have mentioned them before but I didn’t know what they were. I have learned so much from you. Take care 😊🐚💜
Did not realize that there are so many kinds of seashell creatures in that frigid water! (did I miss the dog shell giveaway?)
Hi Gayle! We did a dog whelk giveaway a while ago. Haven't had the chance to put together another one, but we're working on it. Thanks for watching!
I've learned so much but the most unique is the sand. The saturation of garnets that make up its color and moon snail galore. I really do love them.
Moon snails galore! Yesssssss!!! I love this! and that lush sand - yep...my favorite too!
What I love most about Plumb Island shelling is the interesting and informative facts that you share. I have learned so much from watching your videos. I am new to shelling and admire your dedication in all kinds of weather, day or night to shelling and sharing your adventures with us. Thank you!
Hi Sharon!! Thank you so much ❤️ thanks for coming along on mynbeach adventures with me! I really appreciate you tuning in for the fun 😀
Oh my goodness….those itty bitty tiny shells, and wow that dolphin vertebrae! What pretty shark eyes too.
Hi Jo! You are so super welcome! Thank you for tuning in!!
I love the big, very big moon snails and the purple sand. It’s just a really beautiful place.

Yes...so much beauty! Every during a blizzard! No matter the weather, we shell!! Thank you so much for watching!!
I learned that purple sand exists and how beautiful it is.
Hi Allison! Yes - so lush and the color is so saturated when it's wet. I stare at it for at least 5 minutes each time I see it on the beach! lol. Thanks for watching!

So many wonderful colors. Nature is the most talented artist in the world! Thank you so much for watching!!
I think my favorite thing I learned about Plum Island is the purple sand.
Definitely makes the Island that much more magical! Thanks for adventuring with me!
My favorite thing I have learned about Plum Island is the purple sand and the eatable plums.
Hi Chris! Yes - the plums are really interesting and small compared to regular plums! Google a pic if you get a chance! They are cool to see. Thanks for always taking the time to watch! Part 2 of this weekend is coming soon!
@@PlumIslandSeaCabin Looking forward to it!
My favorite thing about Plum Island is that there are giant scallops and moon snails! Also that Plum Island exists,
Hi RaeAnn!! Yes! It exists and is sure is magical! Giant moon shells and scallops for days! Thank you so much for watching!!!

Hi Tammy! Those deep water shells are seriously show stoppers. When I am shelling and I see one, my heart explodes. Haha. Nature is bananas! Thank you so much for coming along on my adventures!
I love the red sand that only plum island have
It definitely has that maroon look to it! I think the more garnet is has the more red it looks! It's so lush - it amazes me every time I see it. 😍
I love the huge moon snails the purple sand is amazing and the huge scallops and sand dallars every where I love it
Hello 👋 Roberta, how are you doing?
I learned that I'd really like to visit Plum island and that each shell is beautiful in its own way!
Hi Susan! Yes! Definitely trip worthy and yes...all of the shells are beautiful...even the broken ones! 🌊✌️❤️
All the cool shells that wash up on the beach!!!
There are so many - there are not enough pocket in the world to collect them all 😂 I always need a bigger bag!
I learned I'd be willing to brave the cold for those gorgeous dark shark eyes. It's interesting how they vary from coast to coast but honestly you are a wealth of information and we really enjoy your channel. Thanks again.

I love all the different varieties…and the purple sand is the best
They are seriously adorbs! I have a little jar full of them. Cuteness in a bottle! Haha. Thank you so much for watching!

PS looks like Tracey is just as crazy as you ... you ladies need some boots! 🤣🤣🤣 I have 2 beach modes - either barefoot or in neoprene/rubber boots
I have learned that I love the moon snails on your island!! So jealous! The scallops are crazy too! Now I see why you brave those temperatures!!

Hi Tammy! I am ok because I have so many layers on! Haha - sometimes I have so many I can't even bend to pick up the shells! Haha. I also have those pocket warmers that you shake to activate.
