Had one this Summer that takes the cake. I'm 80, and I mostly fish topwater in the evening from a small boat. I regularly have bassboats and pontoon boats run through the water I'm fishing between myself and shore. This particular evening I was playing a nice bass who was repeatedly jumping 40 feet from the boat when a pontoon boat ran over my line 25 feet from the boat!
Some folks just have no regard for anglers. This dude in particular literally drove through two anglers fishing one small area. On top of that the last guy literally was casting twenty feet from my kayak. Thanks for watching man!
Great showing, congrats on 2nd place !!! Those two guys with the boats were so rude, you showed some good restraint and patience. Thanks for the video 🎣🙂
Awesome finish, I believe in you bud. Can't wait to see more trophy's in your hand. I was telling a few guys to check you out the other day. They wanted my advice on smallmouth.
Both situations in my opinion were ridiculous. I think the way you handled it was the best outcome possible and you finished well. Congrats on the finish and keep representing us kayak fishers the way you do.
What a bunch of Richard Craniums!???? That 1st one that divided the two of you with the intent to disturb your fish. What brand of net is that? Where did you purchase it from? Congratulations on the 2nd place.
Wow. First guy seemed completely oblivious and the second guy downright rude. Either way, nice job finding a pile of fish and getting a good finish! I covered a ton of water that day and just never stumbled onto many.
I just wanted to thank you for your videos, coming from Oklahoma not far from where you were fishing in tournament. I have learned bass fishing is a little different here in Ohio i learn a lot from your videos again thanks
Congrats on the second place finish. Those were some nice fish. I thought the first encounter was more egregious than the second until the second guy ended up right in front of your yak. So many people have no manners anymore.

Great job CC, congrats on the 2 hole bling & cash! Well done. Both boaters in this vid were rude, ugh. Neither gave a crap, knew exactly what they were doing. 2nd dude was chatty to gauge your level of irritation, prolly ready to pounce if you checked him. He knew he was wrong. I'm calling central Ohio on the move. CBus is a great area for many reasons including fishing & close enuff to hit all your spots. Be well & Happy Dad's Day!
Great job out there bud! Yeah I have had the same issues a time or two… I was fishing a tullie shore line and had a boat go through the tullies between me and the shore line! Acted like nothing happened, it had to be intentional….
Thats pathetic and him talking to you dosent excuse his actions, unfortunately it happens everyday. You kept your cool and caught more fish is what matters
just fished my first tournament ever after about a year of watching ya. Wind killed me and I found out I was "Fish Poor" in comparison to the other competitors. LMAO
So this is my first year doing the kayak tournament thing. I would have never dreamed that the boaters can be so rude, brookville was a nightmare even with a good finish. Sometimes I want to turn my titan 12.5x into a 4mph torpedo right at some of these boats😂
@@thecreekcrawler it really does make you wonder about how people was raised. Like I’m embarrassed watching someone else do it. I think collectively as kayakers just start boarding their boats like pirates 🏴☠️ take what we want and leave as payment for being douches.😂
I wade rivers, kayak and boat. So I’ve seen some dumb situations. When I wade I get the side eye from kayakers, like I’m some bum walking the river. In a kayak, well you know what it is with boaters. One time on my boat at nimi I had a group of kayakers pull up to the boat ramp, unload their kayaks on the ramp and proceed to take pictures. Only to load them back up and leave after a half hour of them taking their time to do it. In the end I just keep it cool, I’m there to chill. Hopefully no one ever steps over a red line, cause I don’t play.
You think that's bad I been fishing this lake for years dude for walleye,I could tell you some real horror stories. Unfortunately it's a public lake like you said you just got to live with it.nice job dude👍😀
Thanks John!! I definitely know that all boaters are not created equal. I’ve just never been crowded this much when there is clearly enough space to go around.
Yea I had a good time with Boater #1 as we agreed to share the point and grass edge. We doubled up a handful of times and had a great time. The other two guys were absolute nonsense
What You have at Indian Lake is People from Dayton and Springfield and Lima. Some are Snob's or not experienced Boaters and don't have very good dam sense! I have a Bass Boat and will yield to anyone on a fishing spot! And now that the lake is having a weed problem spots are fewer and Some People are just Rude!
Great tournament video and finish brother. I thought you handled it perfectly but not so much from the 2 sets of boaters. Clown show is what came to mind. Just makes me remember that when Dad said it takes all kinds son...that wasn't a compliment.
Public lake or not there are unwritten rules if someone is on a spot before you,you just wait your turn if that makes any sense!! I would had definitely said something to the first 2 boaters. Congratulations on 2nd my guy🔥🔥🤘
I fish from a kayak and used to primarily fish Indian. I rarely take the kayak out on Indian anymore due to run ins with douche bags like this nearly every time out. A coworker was crappie fishing one time a had a guy fishing a bass tournament want his spot and literally tell him he should stay off the lake during tournaments. There's literally tournaments every weekend.
I really don’t want to change my fishing adventures around how others utilize a space. Next time I will just say some polite words and hopefully that’s enough to engage in discourse. Tournament anglers have no more rights to the public lake than we do. But atleast tell someone before you toss your giant worm 15 feet from my kayak.
I'd be more upset about dude just driving over the spot than the dude fishing around you. I personally try to not cut people off if they are moving down the bank, but if they are staying in one spot. (Like guys crappie fishing a tree or something) I'm gonna go around them, and keep fishing down the bank past them.
I honestly was stunned how quickly someone would just blow right in on top of me. I’m in a kayak and cannot move much and then to intentionally roll up on me while fishing a very small area… uncalled for. Thanks for watching!!
@@thecreekcrawlerbasically happened to me at my tournament at east harbor, boat pulled up behind me and was fishing pretty close, caught more than them though 😂

Thanks Rick!! I was shocked a few times during the derby. I got within 100 yards of a dude at alum and he got pretty upset
Nice job, Brian. I've never had interactions like that with boaters. But Burr Oak and Dillion aren't very populated.
Yea those lakes over in southeast Ohio don’t see as much pressure and rarely do I come into contact with boaters.

Unfortunately we don't own the water so anything goes. We have become a "me" centered culture. It shows up even in fishing! You handled it with grace.

Very bad fishing etiquette. We are used to nut to butt fishing in Ohio waters but you ask when approaching a community hole, it's just courtesy.
Absolutely.. not cast ten feet beside my kayak. On top of that he pulls out a really nice fish 😅
That's Ohio. Northeast Ohio is even worse.
I thought the dude hit my kayak with his lure at one point.
Congratulations great catch as far as the boater very RUDE

As much as you like to throw soft plastics you need to learn to throw a jig!!! It’s not a lie when people say BIG fish eat jigs.
You know what I actually got my first ever swim jig fish during my pre fishing session!! I definitely need to adopt the jig into my Arsenal.
