Hey there! On my invoices, is it possible to automatically show the total amount a customer owes me? For instance, if they already owed $150 and the new invoice is for $50, I'd like it to show a final "balance due" of $200. Is there any way to do it in Zoho Books?
Thanks Lior. How can I combine Zoho Billing and Book's Recurring invoices into a single invoice for monthly subscriptions and support contracts, while allowing clients to manage their licenses through their dashboard?
Good question. i think it starts with the CRM and how business is conducted. I do not know your business but I would recommend checking having the recurring deals on billing and the one time deals will be as addons to the subscription. That will allow you to send one invoice. We did few of those using automation and manually.

Is there any way to create one invoice and then send out the same invoice every month, collecting partial payment from the client over a payment period, until the invoice is settled? I cost for projects that a client pays over 7 months, but there is no easy way to just set a recurring payment for a single invoice. This would be a great feature.

Very Cool. Great info. IS THERE ANY WAY to change the invoice 'REFERENCE' field to automatically change to the 'MONTH' name of that specific invoice?
One way we've worked around this is to create 12 re-occurring invoices, 1 for each month and make them re-occur annually.

Hi there, depending on the scenario you can create some custom functions to help with this. Might be a bit of a drag but it could be possible. If this is on the Bills side, there is no need to automate the reference field as it "technically" has to come from the vendor (from a general accounting process standpoint). Is there a way to automatically change the billed product´s quantity from month to month somehow? For example for a subscription that is based on the cleint´s number of employees? Or is that rather Zoho Subscrriptions´ job?

I have been using books for almost 4 years including the recurring invoice functions.
Subscription interested us but only meets a type of need for recurring intangible services and does not allow to integrate additional products and services.
Zoho could have a great product if they would integrate more intelligently the multiple products and notably subscription with books, but also commerce which can be the entry point for a new customer who then may want to subscribe to a recurring service 'subscription'.
Subscription could also use books items as an add on or as a component of a nomenclature
In short, as is often the case, very interesting products but not sufficiently developed
Yes I am with you. Zoho Subscription is almost a good product. I tried it in a few projects. The results were not there

Between their apps, online store "commerce", "recurrence" subscription, management of "contracts" + stocks and inventory serial numbers, all connected to books, they should be able to provide an exceptional offer.
But the teams are totally disconnected and "above ground"
How else do you go about meeting the needs?
