I have a question. I work in a small hospital , rural setting. Recently bought out by a large system. I work ICU. Right now we have to manually type in VS q15mins. We are newly on EPIC and I'm not sure I'd EPIC has capability but on Cerner our ICU monitors were associated and would matriculate with a double click to the EHR. We have one Nurse Informaticist on staff. We heard that the larger sister hospital has this capability. Would that be a job for me to go to my director about and should she then refer to him? Q15min VS on 2 to 3 patients is quite tedious and time consuming. Thanks!?
Wow, documenting your vitals that often on 2-3 patients is a lot of work. I am not that knowledgable on EPIC but this is a feature that we have in Cerner. You say you have an Informatics team, I would definitely get your coworkers opinions but yes I would talk to your director about making this change. Your director can then reach out to the informatics people and if EPIC allows this type of association then it would be really beneficial. Thanks for reach out friend :)
