Dear Skye, the amount of roleplaying and effort you put into this game, and the colorful jokes with Picture, are a delight. Every video you make makes me want to go play again, and I’m pretty rubbish at Timberborn so seeing how you do things has taught me how to play better. It is inspiring how long your series go, how much of the map you can transform, and the stuff you build.
For the community generally: it is rude to provide criticism when it hasn’t been requested. Skye has a good record of asking for people’s feedback on something when he wants it. If he hasn’t asked, he doesn’t want it. Don’t be rude. We all get to watch this amazing content for free.
I dont ever comment on videos, but after seeing the community message I wanted to tell you that I adore your videos. I binged the last timberborn series and Im so excited to watch this series unfold live. You have so many loving fans. People on the internet can be awful for no reason.

21:16 Just a thought, you could put some sluice gates next to the flood gates at the top. That way you can set the floodgates to .9 or 1.9 when you get the next level in place. With the sluice gates next to the floodgates, you wouldn't need to remember to open or close them again.

Great series, very entertaining and I personally find your editing very smoothly done. I know it's a pain, but very pleasant for the viewer. Also great that you aren't using tons of videoeffects to turn it into a Disney/Marvel movie.
You could consider to use platforms underneath your pumps instead of levees. That way you're not making your waterreservoir smaller by displacing your water with a solid.

Der Skye. After watching your last series playthrough, the first few eps of this one felt like you were moving in slow motion. But in this episode it was really clear how in the previous ones you'd stockpiled and set yourself up for the explosion - not just with the explosives, but with the foodstocks, population growth, and industry too. Min-maxxing early on meant that you could scale up WAY faster once the ball was rolling.
Perpetually impressed with how you make stuff happen in this game! Can't wait for the next one.

Every time I watch one of your videos I'm amazed at how quickly your beavers get things done, because when I play it seems like it takes absolutely forever to get any project going. Dear Skye, you don't need an outlet to let the badwater run off the map - you can just block it in - if there's no exit it just fills up the available space and nothing further - no pressure physics to break anything open.
Problem is once the available space is filled, when fresh water returns, it won't be able to flush out the area and allow the sluices to open because the water source tiles are right at the edge of the map and the water/badwater won't flow back.
17:00, build the large tile with the central aisle and scissor stair connect every floor at two end, done,
and reduce area of land for corridor & stairs.
He has a whole video on making an efficient 5 story building on his channel too😂 idk why he doesn’t use that

I did something similar with floodgates all across the water tiles. It took quite a while, but it diverted all the bad water great.

The two double floodgates at 26:00 should be sluicegates with single floodgates on top, youll be able to fill up through the sluices, bus stil have the overflow at .9
Thanks for the amazing episode, i hope to see the Double D dam in its strongest shape and deepest capacity, so its able to irrigate the whole map all at once (minus the badwater areas). Please keep the patch of land inbetween if you can.

Skye, It looked like those row houses took some work to get the stairs down on both sides. Don't forget, if you have roof access from both sides, you only need ground access from one side.

I take it that power is going to be a project soon since the new dam, which is savage.. Cuts your power during a bad tide.. Not sure by how much.. 💚
Playing the same map and struggled at first with the sheer volume of water. Allows lots of cool waterfalls and power wheels though. Interesting to see different solutions to the same problems.
You should come to Birmingham St Martin in the Bull Ring if you think the stairs are high. We have 20 meters of spiral staircase in the tower leading to the belfry.

You know you can do the same for the existing bad water source to the left of your colony and block it off completely without needing a bad water cover.
Just add some sluice gates set to zero contamination and you can open them whenever you need additional bad water.
Dear Skye, did you know you can power buildings from underneath? you can build overtop the upward angled power connectors. the waterwheels might be able to power more that way than just the calculators. its also useful when you have factories either side of a pathway.
With ten breading pods you’re going to have a burst of population. The Iron Teeth are well known for having the advantages of manpower. With that population increase building extra camp fires or roof top tarries. This would let the kids grow up quickly and star work earlier.
The Rowhouse is very good for space and population, but the barracks is better and a simple catwalk and 1x1 roof at the entrance would let large numbers get the roof bonus. Rowhouse are best when combined with manpower wheels as building the power wheels on each side of the rowhouse and generator mechanical energy. This is coined the rowhouse power house. This was used in the older update for vertical power transfer. Just pipe the power out the front over a pathway with catwalks.
Just a note on the water wheels. When water levies are on each side of the power wheel. A solo water wheel provides more power than three water wheels across and costs fewer logs. This has gotten better in the new game update.
A hauler hut next to the water pumps would take the weight of the pumpers from having to stop and haul the water into the water tanks. This would permit more time spent pumping. I have no way to tip you. Hopefully paying you in game tips may help.

At the end of your last build you put a roof over your beds using a single platform and a roof. I ended up doing the same thing with the medical beds in my new build. Even if the poor beaver is sick at least they can feel better about getting well; offset the sickness with aesthetics!

Does that badwater diversion make freshwater exit the map at the source because it has to travel upwards first? If not ignore the comment below :)
Maybe some platforms in front of the sources and sluices in front of those on the ground level would make it so there is no freshwater loss. I know this map has near infinite water. Just a thought!
35:30 Dear Sky, you don't need to use any Sleuce to let through badwater at the watersource, you can just leave it as a hole. (that's how I did it on this map)
Edit: you do need to put the clean water sluices at ground level for that though.
What's stopping the clean water from going off the map through the bad water outlets?
@@cameronvanatti granted, with this design some of that would happen. Though if you lower the clean water sleuces their level is simply lower than the route off the map. During the wet season the water Flow would be enterily natural.
This said, I now believe there's actually a method to his madness, this system has an advantage over mine though I think that would spoil what sky is planning.
