    How cool. My dad Richard Unekis wrote the book that this movie was based on when I was 3 in 1963. Nice job Fu Manchu !!!

      Thats fucking cool Jim. Did he make a shitload of money off the movie rights? I was friends with a writer named Gary Bradner who wrote the book that would eventually be made into probably the very best werewolf movie of all time, The Howling. I vividly remember Gary saying they offered him a ridiculous amount of money for the movie/screenplay rights to the novel, far more than he ever made publishing. How close was the movie to your dads novel? What was the name of the book, and did it do well?

    I don't know if many of you are aware of it, but the helicopter piloting in this movie, specifically the full nutso balls the size of the population of china low altitude under real power lines high speed chase and then fucking full speed cornering inches off the deck shot at approximately 3:17 in this video is a thing of legends in the stunt production world. I'm unable to explain or convey just how utterly fearless and insanely difficult what you see here was to try, let alone pull off (most veterans, even some of the Nam elite who were considered the best, said a move at this height and speed was not possible under any circumstances).
    This stunt went unchallenged for years, until the scene in Terminator 2 at the end of the movie when, filmed live in one take, the new 'record' was set when that chopper pilot flew that bird at 80+ knots UNDER the motherfucking overpass chasing the hero's car toward the metal foundry. Then, (and as of now, there might be others I'm not aware of!) even crazier 'impossible' helicopter flying surpassing this I saw recently in the low budget comedy film 'Rat Race' (the scene at the beginning of the movie when the blonde chopper pilot discovers her fiance in the Doughboy pool in their backyard with another bimbo and chases him through the desert with her helicopter). More balls of steel aviation mind blowyness . . .

      If they think it's two dangerous, they used miniatures, or optical illusions in Hollywood back in the day. Now it's called CGI (computer generated imaging) but if it's a stunt pilot, hell thats impressive.

      I've seen vision of insane chopper flying on outback cattle stations here in Australia. The big cattle stations used chopper musterers, who are airborne cowboys and some of the low level stuff they do is skilled but mad and on private property.

    • @ShiftKickerZ28
      @ShiftKickerZ28  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're not wrong though. From Wikipedia: "Film developers thought the Dodge Charger was actually bright yellow and so "corrected" the film negatives to eliminate the greenish tint on the car. In fact, the entire movie in theaters, on TV, and on VHS was originally very warm toned. The color was more correct in the 2005 DVD release (and later Blu-ray releases) and the Dodge Charger became the correct lime green color. "
