This is pretty cool, I'm going to give it a try for my zoom training. I transitioned from in person to zoom training a 2 yrs ago and looked for tools that I could sketch on screen with no mac support, I gave up looking. I did use a PC for awhile but I prefer my Mac.
HEY ALEC! So grateful for this! Downloaded Bought the lifetime license and Just Used it for the first time in a zoom meeting with Dean Graziosi and the Mastermind Family. I felt Like I got m ore out of the meeting by just writing comments on the screen rather than typing in the Chat. Thank you SO SO SO SO Much for sharing, I even set it all up while the zoom had already started thanks to your easy to follow video that I just happened to watch before my meeting!
Nice explanation. The way drawings appear are a bit jittery as it is coming in over a camera. Like it but will continue using iPad with Good Notes for whitebaord as it presents more cleanly as has snap to shapes.
Thats awesome mate, Love that you can do this. I love that I can use this for presentations. Just a quick one though, I don't see NDI Transparency on my settings. How di I get that to appear.
Fascinating tool! I'm sure I'll be able to use it one day. If you don't mind me asking: Do you have any idea how to use Ecamm Live to zoom in on a specific spot in a screencast? I saw in the Ecamm help that it should work with the pinch gesture on the Magic Mouse, but nothing happens for me. The alternative would be the + and - buttons in Ecamm's GUI, but when I use them, it only zooms to the center of the screen, which is rarely useful. How do you do the zoom in screencasts? Thanks for your time, and maybe for the answer. 😊
Hello @Take One Tech... with Alec. I like the program and am using it in my broadcast. The only thing that bothered me is that, just for the transmission, the lines drawn thin, as if the pen's ink dried up after a few milliseconds. Twisting a bit the exact effect that is on my ipad. How to fix it?
Alec, video was perfect. However no matter how much I resized my videopencil it would NEVER match up with the video. Any thoughts on what may be the issue?
Hello- I am running Video Pencil on an Ipad Air 2 with Wirecast. My question is if you are trying to connect to a windows pc using NDI do you see the video freezing and being unstable? I am unable to get smooth continuous video. The computer I am sending it to is a MSI Stealth66- gaming laptop that has plenty of horsepower for the job. I have a 32mb UL speed. I am using the latest version of NDI Tools. Thanks
Can I write on the screen without using zoom/ecamm/obs? I am looking to write on the screen without needing all this other software. I wont be streaming or using a webcam.
Yes you can… in this case you would need to also install the Video Pencil desktop app… this routes your regular camera into the Video Pencil iPad app, and then the composite of your camera plus writing shows up in your computer as a virtual camera. 😊
Good video, but after spending money for Video pencil, I spend way too much time aligning the iPad (Video Pencil) to my screen as per your instructions. Tired of wasting my time trying to get rid of the double image on my iPad. Followed your instructions and nothing works.
That can be frustrating if it is out of alignment. It basically needs to completely fill the screen exactly and then it should be fine. If you are using Ecamm Live, then one way to get it to fill the screen is out video pencil overlay at the top in the overlays window and then use the scroll wheel on your mouse (if you have one) as this will scale the overlay and then scaling up, will scale up to fill the screen.
Can you do this again slower? I can’t follow a lot of what you are saying because your speech rate is so rapid. I am back to teaching, virtually, after retiring so I am a boomer, not used to all the flashy stuff designed to keep millennials engaged. Also the continual sliding videos at the bottom right is really messing with my dyslexia and ADHD. I teach Advanced Mathematics and simply need a way to write directly on my screen when I am presenting a calculus problem. Will this work for that? So, I am find the integral for a given function and I am sharing my Google Slide in Zoom. A student needs me to elaborate on a step. How do I write on the presentation so it looks like I am writing on the screen? I know I can do this using transcribe but I have to use the mouse (which is awful to look at) and I want to use the iPad and pencil. Can you help us with that? We are teachers at Proximity Learning, most of us over 50. (We used keypunch machines, okay?). Simple, straightforward works well. You could call it your Baby Boomer series!😂

@alec you are the man! Thank you for this!!!! I followed this video from beginning to end and it is working like a charm!

Can you use the NDI output and setup an extra monitor at the same time.
Hey Alec, you had recommended a dock for Mac minis in another video but I can’t find it again. Can you recommend a good dock?
Hi Alec... Love what you do 👍🏾
Question - What model is your Ipad Mini? 🙏🏾
Thank you! 🙏😊
I’m using an iPad Mini 6 (ie latest generation)
@@TakeOneTech Thanks 🙏🏾
My basic iPad doesn’t typically allow my Apple Pencil write on it . Does the app give it that functionality?

How do you get that video to loop at the bottom?
would this work in streayard or evmux? can it also annotate over a pdf of multiple pages?
Are thee pencil tools able to be mapped to short cut keys or a stream deck?
