    I could listen to Carrie all night long. She is not only one the best raconteurs around but she is the best "listener" I've witnessed in a long time.

      Robert Ricardo indeed. We love watching interview with fascinating people and with this video it covers one area of her work that seems to be under the radar till now which is her approach on writing. We love how much she gives a worldly perspective on how entertainment is consumed and the fact she loves the feel of books than a Kindle is what stood out of how much she loves something tangible and be immerse and physically interact with books. There was another interview back in the 70s and love the comments she make of how film is a dying art and observing people favor tv with the comforts of home consuming entertainment and how films has to be bigger Than life to make it stand out. Which still relevant today.

      Find the interview with the bald, rotund guy from England. Is also great. But, really, did Carrie ever give a bad interview? None that I have found. There's another one with a young, dark-haired guy in Canada that is also excellent, really intimate in a way. But, again, Carrie was able to be so genuine, or at least she seemed to me to always be.

    I am SO HOOKED on this series. Amazing women that I have always loved just as if they were in my living room. This series is a reason why we ALL should support PUBLIC TELEVISION. And then you can be an "owner " in a great network. (Climbing off my soapbox now) .. .. ... . .

    re: her appearance: severe mental illness really takes a toll on your body, including your face. god knows how many meds she's on here - that stuff jacks you up too. i think the meds are causing her to do that thing with her lips - constantly pushing her lips forward.

    • @vsrose
      @vsrose 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Medications will even out the mood, not "jack you up". I think you are thinking about street drugs, they will "jack you up"
      What took a toll on her body, mind and health was her smoking and on and off use of alcohol and hard drugs over a 35 year span. Mental illness and ongoing use of alcohol and drugs go together so often.

      That’s the thing…you can be witty, funny and insightful about your own particular “bubble” and people will assume you’re extremely intelligent when that is not necessarily the case.
