I do not have an ‘08, but none the less this video showed me enough to confidently tackle the task.

It’s easy took me 3 days to get hoses off and the video he puts hoses back wrong another day to get back on with big hands use grease on fittings makes super easy new fittings are easier to get off doorman parts

Excellent video! I just changed both on 2008 4.2. I purchased those hose grip pliers from Harbor Freight and it was piece of cake for me!

Bought my 04 F-150 XLT used (80,000 mi) Kept indoors...almost mint cond. (slight wear on drivers seat, otherwise like new. A lot of these F-150's experienced pine holes in radiator. I replaced my work truck's radiator but the prior owner of this used truck used "stop-leak" to fix his. NEVER do that! It plugged the heater core... and caused the heat temp sending unit to fail. Had to lift the intake manifold to replace the heat sensor and a good back flush solved the heater problem.

I noticed in the video that you put the hoses back on the heater core side in the opposite sides of where they were when you took them off. Not sure if it really matters but I'm assuming that it was intentional and was curious as to why.?

Ya I caught that afterwards too I did switch them back. But I don't think it makes a different. But i just put it the way it came from factory

Thank you for sharing this video! I was able to fix my truck quickly. I have a porous hose about six inches long that attaches to a sort of breather hose on top and rear of the engine near the back IAC. Any thoughts?

Can anyone help me? At 0:05 there is a metal pipe/hose with a plastic clamp on it below the 2 heater core hoses that has come loose on my brother's truck. Does anyone know the technical name or where this goes to ? When it came off coolant blew everywhere

Do you use those little black rings ? For the water to not leak?

  • @alancheramie-es4uw

For some reason the return tube i have is in place now , the o rings that were on the knub that comes out of the back side of the water pump the ones that were oni put grease an still they broke apart , put 2 a little smaller an that worked . The hose from firewall to the tube looks to be a little short i don't know why . If anyone knows please give me a idea if possible . I feel like it's almost there with getting it finally finished .

I have the exact same problem on my 2007 f150. My question is did you have to replace the second hose? the first one you removed is the same on that broke on mine, but I was hoping to just replace that hose connector.
