If your church is true, then research cannot harm it. Please, please read the CES Letter. I love you as a fellow human, but it is my duty as a Christian to let you know that the book of Mormon is absolutely provably false. Go out and research the book of mormon against what the Bible says. The book of mormon teaches an entirely different God and Jesus than what the Bible states authoritatively. I love you, this isn’t meant to insult you, but you are being led astray and it hurts my soul. I’m an ex-member, raised in the church. I know how you feel. Your whole life is centered around this church. To leave the church would be to leave your life, but this isn’t true. It would be starting a whole new life based in the true Jesus Christ of the Bible. It would be setting yourself free from one of the greatest achievements of Satan, the mormon church. The LDS church, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and Scientology are all horrible establishments that are direct enemies of salvation. I pray that God allows you to see. Amen.

Joseph Smith is not a prophet and this isn’t a matter of opinion. The Bible clearly tells us how to tell if someone is a real prophet, and Joseph Smith failed the test multiple times. If you do leave the church, please do your research and explain the theological issues of the church to your family so that some of them might see the truth. Good luck and God bless you to the highest degree. Amen.

*The Validity Of Joseph Smith As A Prophet*
The way Christians can determine who is a prophet of God is through 2 teachings that a can be found in the Book of Deuteronomy.
”If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, and the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him. And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.“‭‭ - *Deuteronomy‬ ‭13‬:‭1‬-‭5‬ ‭KJV‬‬*
”And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.“ -‭‭*Deuteronomy‬ ‭18‬:‭21‬-‭22‬ ‭KJV‬‬*
These tests essentially state that if a self-proclaimed prophet leads you astray from Yahweh and biblical teachings and/or they make prophecies that do not come to pass, they are not a prophet nor a child of God. It goes as far to say that they should be put to death during that time.
“We will never get a man into space. This earth is man’s sphere and it was never intended that he should get away from it.” - Joseph Fielding Smith
In 1892 an article appeared in the “Young Women’s Journal” (an official church magazine) Vol. 3 pp. 263, 264. It’s author, Oliver B. Huntington wrote: “Nearly all the great discoveries of men in the last half century have, in one way or another, either directly or indirectly, contributed to prove Joseph Smith to be a Prophet. As far back as 1837, I know that he said the moon was inhabited by men and women the same as the earth, and that they lived to a greater age than we do - that they lived generally to near the age of one-thousand years. He described the men as averaging near six feet in height and dressing quite uniformly in something near the Quaker style.”
Oliver goes on to say, “In my Patriarchal blessing, given by the father of Joseph the Prophet, in Kirtland, 1837, I was told that I would preach the gospel to the inhabitants upon the islands of the sea, and - to the inhabitants of the moon, even the planet you can now behold with your eyes.”
Then we have this statement by Brigham Young that he preached over the pulpit as a prophet of God: “Who can tell us of the inhabitants of this little planet that shines of an evening, called the moon? When we view its face, we may see what is termed ‘the man in the moon,’ and what some philosophers declare are the shadows of mountains. But these sayings are very vague, amount to nothing; and when you inquire about the inhabitants of that sphere you find that most learned are as ignorant in regard to them as the most ignorant of their fellows. So, it is with regard to the inhabitants of the sun. Do you think it is inhabited? I rather think it is. Do you think there is life there? No question of it; it was not made in vain.”
Mormons will say, well, these are only opinions. But if you read those quotes in full context, you can see they are not just opinions. Brigham and others used it to teach principles of the Mormon gospel.
Also, according to Brigham Young in Journal of Discourses, vol. 13 p. 95, he said: “I have never yet preached a sermon and sent it out to the children of men, that they may not call Scripture.”
Smith and Young are not prophets. They are idolaters and liars. I pray you do further research in your own beliefs and prophets. There are far more like these Lori. ✝️❤️

If it made you feel uncomfortable, was that an emotion or fact based reaction? We all come about these things everyday. If you see everyone as equals, fact base decisions won’t make you made. If you’re mad is it you’re own bias or theirs? Food for thought & grow.

“Maybe instead of asking why the Blacks had to wait until 1978 to get the priesthood, we should be asking why did the whites and other races have to wait until 1829.”
Brad Wilcox, who I'm almost sure she was talking about, said this in a public talk to a congregation. Mormons that are black weren't allowed to get the priesthood or go through their temples, both of which they believe are essential for eternal salvation, until 1978, because Mormon doctrine taught for a long time that black people were cursed by god.

@Mattj93 I would agree with you. I would also include that racism exists whether or not it was intended. I think she was absolutely referring to that quote by Brad Wilcox. I don't believe that he intended it to be hurtful, but it was. He has since apologized, which is something I wish our leaders did more. I also wish both active members and staunch enemies of the Church didn't expect so much of Church leaders. They are imperfect and a product of their times. The Church has a history of racist teachings and I expected nothing less from someone who did not have the lived experiences of Black people. But I also believe that he can grow and change.
Recently, a lot of good people seem to be leaving because they aren't given room to disagree. There seems to be this attitude of "Well, they weren't strong enough to stay and the Lord has weeded them out." I hope the Church membership becomes more welcoming to all races, genders, and abilities.

@@dejesusrussell sorry not sorry, but I'd expect a bit more than blatant racism from someone that claims to be God's mouthpiece. The church should have been at the very front of the Civil Rights movement, instead of Benson calling it a "communist plot". Christ's church should have been at the forefront of fighting against slavery, and there's no argument that can convince me it's ok or can be brushed aside, because saying they're a product of their time completely negates all the people of that same time that WERE fighting against it. I'd think Jesus' chosen witnesses would be the most loving and accepting of all people, instead of only lifting the priesthood/temple ban when BYU was threatened with losing status.

Mormons please consider what the Bible says:
But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.
As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.
    Galatians 1:8-9
“You are My witnesses,” says the Lord,
“And My servant whom I have chosen,
That you may know and believe Me,
And understand that I am He.

So apparently telling people what you believe is a cult now😂 people these days are actually whack. I’m not even Mormon and I can tell that this church isn’t a cult. Just because they have friendlier people than most churches? Or that they keep their bodies, healthier, and cleaner? Or did they don’t totally force their religion upon everybody they come across that believes something different?

My doctor gave me “spacers” but they’re dilators. I have pain with any kind of penetration, and we couldn’t figure out why until I had a pediatric speculum in me and accidentally broke it. He recommended me dilators and gave me a set for free. I use lube to work them in, wear them for a few minutes a day until they feel comfortable, then move a size up. These ones have the option of wearing them underneath your clothes and also the option of combining them with a bullet vibrator. They’re honestly a blessing.

Amen.
