- Hello everyone,
I am currently back in South Korea and bought a HUGE ("blind") box of dolls and clothes from a Korean woman who decided to quit the hobby. Of course this was a steal, otherwise I wouldn't have bought it. I got 11 dolls in total and this is my unboxing video. Enjoy it. :)

Thank you so much for watching my video and for leaving a comment. Here in Korea they gave several apps to sell and buy secondhand items. It wasn’t an auction luckily (I never win auctions 🤣), so my bf contacted the seller (my Korean isn’t good enough yet) and we were able to meet up with the seller to pick up the lot. I looked through everything super quickly before paying. ☺️ I was very lucky cause the price for this was a STEAL 🤩💖

Unfortunately I don’t know. The Chinese and English letters on the box just say “manual customisation”. I guess this doll was probably purchased on AliExpress or Taobao by the previous owner.

Yes they do, but unfortunately they are recasted dolls (=counterfeits). I didn’t know that when I bought this huge set. These dolls were sold here in Korea in toy stores and big markets, so I thought they are just normal dolls/toys like Barbie, Monster High etc.
They look even more beautiful when re-painted. Unfortunately I am pro-artist and can not share my repaints on my channel. The dolls are no longer in my possession anymore.

It’s such a bummer because they would’ve made a good, cheap bjd for beginners. It seems like most dolls similar to Doris Dolls are recasts. So pro-artists better stay away from them.

• WHAT IS A RECAST?
A recast is a copy of a doll (or doll part) made from moulds of, or digital scanning of, existing dolls. When done without the express permission of the original artist or company, this is a violation of the original artist's or company's exclusive right to control the reproduction of their own intellectual property. These recasts are a violation of the artist's or company's exclusive rights whether they are made for personal use or for sale.
•What does it mean to be ___?
•Recast: An unauthorized copy of a doll or doll part made from an existing part without the express permission of the original artist or company. This is a violation of the artist's or company's exclusive right to control the reproduction of their own intellectual property. [Synonyms: counterfeit, bootleg.]
•Legitimate: An original doll or doll part made and approved by the original artist or company. [Synonym: legit.]
•Recast Friendly: A stance that is for recasts or actively looks for and purchases recasts. [Synonym: Pro-recast.]
•Recast Neutral: A stance that accepts recasts without openly supporting them. In practice, it is similar to being recast friendly.
•Pro-Artist: A stance that is against recasts. Supports the original artist or company by purchasing a doll directly through them, their approved vendors, or through research on the second hand market. [Synonym: Anti-recast.]

How exactly is reselling a recast doll and making money off of her not supporting recasts? Edit : Genuine question. This course of action, selling the doll, makes no sense to me if you dont support the manufacturing and selling of the bootlegs in the first place. "I do not condone selling these, and thus I shall sell it." ?
Hello. Sorry for my late answer. I didn’t see your comment earlier. I am sorry what I said in this video. I wasn’t aware when talking nonsense like this. I was a bit overwhelmed. Later - after talking to some of my BJD friends - I decided NOT to sell the recast YoSD and instead I threw the doll into the trash. I also recently tossed the other 3 cheap plastic dolls into the trash can because they are considered bootlegs too. I didn’t know these plastic/ABS dolls are counterfeits until some of my subscribers pointed it out. Doris Doll for example was sold here in Korea at toy stores and even big supermarket companies such as emart, so that’s why I first thought this company makes legit sculpts. The doll in the red dress and the Vanilla doll have the same or extremely similar face sculpt like Doris Doll, which means those three are all recasts of Asleep Eidolon Moira. I am glad my subscribers made me aware of it, so I could act quickly and get rid of them.
I have always been pro-artist and will always be.
And to be honest back then I only purchased this huge set because of the three big girls from Bom Art Doll. 😉❤️
Why do you buy a recast, when you hate recasts? And why are you selling the dolls?
This was a SET. I bought this whole bunch of stuff from ONE person. The person did not mention each doll company and sculpt and the price was good enough for me to just buy it without questioning. I talked about it in the video btw.
I am selling some dolls because I mainly collect big dolls and don’t want to keep the YoSDs. 🤷🏻♀️
It just happened that one doll is a recast. I won’t keep it cause I am not a recast supporter. 🙃

@@Mexi_Sato It’s okay. ☺️I guessed that you maybe overheard it and your question was for sure legitimate since I always say that I am anti-recast. Though before making this video I roughly looked through everything. since I didn’t know the sculpt of the fake doll, I of course investigated and found out about it being a recast after buying but before recording this video. ah, does my sentence make sense? 🫣 Thank you so much for watching and leaving a comment. @@LunaMikkelsenBJD Oh, thats bad. I think the seller had to say that... Thats mean. I owned 2 Recasts, but sell them, because I dont want to own recasta. Thats let me feel unconforable. My english is so bad xD But I didnt want to write in german. Its not nice for international comment readers.^^
