Some of the early scenes look pretty Mandelbroty, yet the Mandelbrot "set was first defined and drawn by Robert W. Brooks and Peter Matelski in 1978, as part of a study of Kleinian groups. Afterwards, in 1980, Benoit Mandelbrot obtained high-quality visualizations of the set." --Wikipedia

Film camera-made fractiles; I'd like to see how that was done. 👍

This looks like some of the video feedback fractals that could be made on the "Pak-Abbe" video synthesizer that was at Cal Arts when I become a student in film in 1972 and I did film several rolls of super 8 directly pointing at the video output screen. (This is not what I filmed).

i saw a video on how something like this (although less impressive) was done using mirrors and pointing the camera at a projection of what it's broadcasting - like that effect you get on zoom calls when you start sharing something
how they did it here i don't know though

A super 8 could not have generated this. It could only have filmed a set-up or be used to make a crude animation. 8mm film cameras could not "generate".
Also, the resolution is way too high for 8mm. in the 1960s
