- This features an analog feedback loop created with a VHS camcorder, OBS Studio, and a projector.
The footage was live-captured and exported as video to project in the LaVerne Krause Gallery at the University of Oregon (Week 4 of Fall Term)

Did you connect the camcorder to the projector and then point it at the projected image? A very similar technique was used to create the swirling effects for the original Dr Who intro!
Yes, this exactly! That’s an amazing piece of trivia!
I love playing with analog, VHS .there's no pressure to have the best resolution or comply to any snobby standard of latest and greatest. and now 1080p is widely accessible to mix with it too.
greatest.
Can you use a DSLR camera to record the analog performance, or does that alter the effect?
Yet those “snobby standards of latest and greatest” are the only reason you are watching this on your device right now. If everyone had your mindset of newer/better things somehow being snobby simply by fact of being better you would have none of the luxuries you hold dear in your life, including vhs.
Great for pop video effects
Beautiful stuff.
This timetravel.
This is beautiful. You created some amazing textures.
Beautiful!
ayyyy, oregon homegirl. friend of mine goes there too! keep following this, you have good ideas.
This is awesome. I've tried similar stuff by hooking up my camcorder (VHS) directly to my TV, but I never tried putting in external images like that 3d mouse you put in. How did you get new images into the feedback loop?
I use OBS studio to monitor and handle multiple output sources! I layered that nice little mouse in between the input (vhs) and final output (projector)
Looks sick, although I swear I could hear a bass synth while I was watching
Sick as fuck
very signalwave.
Nice
This is really cool. I’ve been playing with feedback but have got nothing like this.
Are you using some sort of filters or software in between the camera and VHS to get those color and mirroring and other effects or is all of those live capture ?
That’s so cool you got to have it projected like that
Nifty
Omg!😍🔥🙌
I love this! I have a camcorder I do this with using a TV, but I don’t get such pretty feedback like you do.
Is that an article from the projector? I don’t get those rainbows. I’m assuming that’s from the projector being an emptier space than a screen?
Beautiful.
I’ve found using a projector renders things noticeably different than a monitor or tv does! Gives much softer and fluid properties to the mix (: thanks for the kind words!
@@autumnjing thank you. I’ve heard other video artists say the same thing. My projector broke last year and I haven’t got to try it with one yet. Thanks for the tip

So is the video written / read from a VHS somewhere in the process or is it more of a VHS camcorder analog feedback loop? either way very cool!
it's a live analog feedback loop!
!
Hello I’m look for analog cloning
Is this free to use if credited?
it depends on what it’s going to be used for!
@@autumnjing I'd be planning to use it for background footage for my music review videos, while most likely overlaying images linked to the music I'd be discussing. I'd verbally credit the video and have a credit somewhere on the screen.
@@pangasius8592 sure! Be sure to mention me using @ so I can see it when it’s posted up
