They're just referring to the spring rate, the spacers just make up for the shorter springs. The spacers add very little preload to the springs when you get the cap back into place.
@@GarageAddiction ok I understand I was just confused because like GatorRimz they have their kx65 springs either Stock an/or Shortened versions and on the Shortened length ones they have the option of .5, .6, and .65 on their Shortened and their stock length they say is a .5KG. And all those don't come with any pvc spacers or anything so I'm getting confused if mototriad is just selling custom springs and spacers and they ask you if you want them at stock length like im finding most sites have but there's maybe a couple that sell them separately the Shortened and Stock versions... thanks for your time!
@@nkastis8211 MotoTriad only sells the shortened springs to my knowledge. My buddy went through Race Tech when he set his up, he gave them a call and they broke down a few options that weren't on the site.
Hey you can front end swap the 65 with drz125 forks and triple tree and it fits perfectly and it’s the same size of a 85 2stroke and it’s so much funer to ride because it’s not to small
Are those aftermarket springs you got custom from mototriad considered stock length aftermarket stiff springs because i cant find any other kits that include the pvc spacers like mototriads even though anyone can grab pvc pipe im wondering about the length of those aftermarket springs ???
They're definitely shorter than the stock springs by a good amount. I don't think I grabbed measurements but they're like 8-12 inches shorter and the pvc makes up the entire difference between them and the stock spring size.
Haha, it's especially fun to do with the garage door open and my neighbors staring at me. I think once a year is a good rule of thumb in general and even more frequently depending on how often you ride/race. On a street bike I generally go a couple years.
Got another email from MotoTriad, looks like the spring rate is actually closer to .55kg once they modify them.
Also when you say .55kg is that including the spacer in each fork leg? That's another thing that I'm curious about..

Interesting, haven't seen many drz125s out my way but sounds like it might be a nice improvement over the bare bones 65 forks.
How does this set up ride for you? I have a stock kx65 that I'm minimoto'ing out right now and would love your input.
It’s a little springy and a little too long. I want to look into internally shortening them a bit and maybe dropping the fork oil weight
Sound m8 great content as usual make everything simple👍
Thanks!

Nice vid. I like the sound the forks make when clearing them out. 😆
How often should you change out your fork oil?

Well Done thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi. Bro What measure do you cut the d epvc tube? Thanks
The MotoTriad kit comes precut, they were about 7 inches.
What triple tree setup is that
It's an R&D setup that was on the bike when I picked it up. I was a little bummed to see they're not making anything for the KX65s anymore.
@@GarageAddiction That sucks they look awsome
