I am going to look into the blanket. Seems like it has a lot of good uses in vanlife. Does it have a feeling of being damp when it pulls your heat away?
No! It does not start to feel damp which I absolutely love. I didn’t notice that when looking at some of the others they do have the ability to put moisture away and that’s what makes them feel cooler this one however does not do that in the same way. This one is dry to the touch and just feels cool
LOL at least I am relatable… I can always make fun of myself whenever I struggle and this was much more of a struggle than it should’ve been however I kind of assumed going into it that it probably would be because well I know myself…
Bunny THANKS - I really appreciate intelligent people who explain things clearly (and them demo them). Thanks for being a great asset to all of the nomad community!!!
I hadn’t thought about that damprid stuff in my overlanding rig but it would be something that could work. Where do you keep it since it has beads in it? Wouldn’t want those rolling around because it would make a big mess.
It fits in my fruit cup holder. That keeps it from tipping over and I have noticed that it definitely is working! I never realized that I had moisture in the calvaria and then with this sitting right there it gets this crusty stuff on the top whatever it first gets damp before it starts to collect and wow
OMG, Miss Bunny!! I got one of the cooling throws and it is FANTASTIC. I am not a nomad (at least not yet!) though I do get out and do some car camping. I have the worst time staying cool, even in ac in my house. I wake up several times during the night because I get too darn hot. The past two nights, using this throw, I've slept the night through and felt great the next morning. Thank you a 1000 times for this wonderful tip! Stay safe out there!!
You are absolutely welcome!! I was so surprised when I ordered it and it came in…. I have been sooo pleased so I am so happy that it’s also coming in handy!!! I wouldn’t trade mine for anything!!!
Adding insulation by itself it would not have I finished appearance. I would eventually like to potentially put a ceiling in but I don’t want to do that until I am ready to commit to the correct material. Since it is such a tight space I don’t have a lot of clearance on the top so finding a way to capitalize best without losing is important. I could put a sense of it or some thing up there but I don’t want to have a silver ceiling right now. And after looking at several of the different options that there are with covering it with cloth I wasn’t really thrilled with how that worked out for many people. Especially whenever they do start experiencing condensation they have said that the glue that is used to secure it sometimes has failure or Can start to appear to ripple. So I simply want to research until I find something that I think I could confidently say would work better.
We use the anti-moisture product also. It works very well especially whenever we are in cool mornings. We keep one at the front and one at the rear of the bus.
I’ve been asked this pretty frequently and my ongoing answer is no and less I were to get a roof vent there’s no need for me to put a window in the back. Even with that I would definitely have a lot of thought to put into it because I like that I have the stealthy this without them.
Possibly… A lot of things will have to change before I can do that however for example I have to install a roof rack so that I can know the placement… Also I would have to find one that works well with the interior ribs of my van since they are smaller… Then I would have to power it… Just a lot of variables LOL
The way you describe the weird scientific freaky way had me rolling 🤣 This would actually be very useful for my hiking pack because I can’t carry a lot of weight. Thanks for looking out for all of us.
Absolutely! Anything that I have in my van I try to also have dual purpose in using and I found that this is light enough or I could throw it into a hiking pack as kind of like an emergency blanket also for keeping me cool and super hot days.
I had a big condensation problem even though I had the window open, so going to get one of those little fans. I like the heater idea but it wouldn't work with my set up. I need a VAN!!
LOL funny story… I was looking for things to keep me cool and it was suggested to me… I didn’t believe it… I looked into others… I started to notice that this one was the only one that didn’t require additional work such as putting it in the fridge or putting it in water which definitely would not work for me… So I thought why not try it! Oh my goodness I am glad I did!
@@BunnyPlaysHere if you watch Bob Wells he says insulation isn't nearly as important for warm and hot climates since it will get hot eventually and the insulation holds it in. As someone who has lived in an old brick house I can tell you brick does the same thing! I'm learning lots from all of you.
So amazing!! She has so many great gadgets in her little home on wheels!! I think that is what makes each of our van journeys unique that we all use so many different handy things that work for each of us!!
I saw you had been in Colorado and I was interested to know when you will be putting your reviews up on the Dyrt for the places you visited. I am planning to go there in a couple of weeks and would love to know where Miss Bunny stayed and suggest going.
I will say this Vanlife is always going to be a little uncomfortable just because you’re downsizing your life into a smaller space however that doesn’t mean we have to be uncomfortable and otherwise such as being too hot or too cold I always recommend that people travel with the weather, which is really helpful but also find ways that they can achieve what makes them happy in their space. Every person is a little bit different. Some people have refrigerators other people do not some people like static beds, other people like conversion beds and it really is just about finding a good balance that works for you and not feeling like you have to have all the answers right out of the gate.
Thank you so much… I just try to be myself and share my experiences in a way that relates to others. I hope that it is helpful when people watch the videos that I produce
Thank you so much I try to make sure that I share my thoughts on why I have certain things and how that they work for me but also in a way that could allow someone else to envision if it might work for them based on their needs… I know that some of us have very common things that were all seeking out and well no two people are going to be the same with exactly what suits those needs I hope that I can at least see are some people in the correct direction if there’s scenario matches mine…
I love the idea of not installing things that are rarely needed. So using the Vans AC or Heater for the occasional cool down or heat up is, in my opinion, an excellent alternative. Keeping things simple seems to always be the best option.
I feel like as I install things it is after I have made educated decisions about them. And I think that’s what’s important each person has different needs and based on those needs they should build their particular van. I was watching Vancity van life and he made a good comment where he mentioned that not everyone is going to have the same needs based on where they are he made a reference to people living in the desert versus people living in Canada and how the weather is different so the equipment that they need another van will be slightly different and I couldn’t agree more!!
The blanket is phenomenal! And once you get it you’ll understand why it is the strangest feeling to be able to stand in the heat of day and touch this cold blanket that makes zero sense as to why it’s cold… I am fascinated by this thing
It works so well for keeping the temp controlled for the laptop and on hot days I think it is the only thing that saves me from burning up under the heat of the battery because I use my laptop heavily!!! lol
@@BunnyPlaysHere btw I love your videos and your enthusiasm for life. I would love to get a small van like yours but I have two small dogs and two cats. Might be a teeny bit too small for us, lol
Great video. Super tips! Norwex absorbs 7 times it’s weight in water! (I’m a Norwex I dependent consultant. 😉) Speaking of Norwex, our window cloths are incredible for cleaning windows inside and out!
Love Lady Bugout’s channel! She’s mentioned and shown her Noggle in several videos. Sounds great! I’m fortunate to have a Chrysler Pacifica with vents all over the van - with 2 separate heating/cooling zones….
Fate lead me here, I need that noogle thingy. I drive a handicap van, my son is in a wheelchair and rides in the back. The rear A/C and heat went kaput. I am afraid to even get an estimate, I know I can't afford to have it repaired. This noogle thingy will save more than our day. Thank you and your friend.
No problem!! It is a wonderful device and actually designed for exactly that!! I am glad you found my channel and this video specifically so it could be of help to you!!!
Such a great device.. just returned to base camp after a week in missouri where the temps were pretty warm and it really did help with pumping air back into the living space... super happy to have had her suggestion!!
Merci Bunny d avoir montrer le montage du noggle 👍 Je pense à Dee…j espère que son chagrin passe de n avoir plus de véhicule et que nous pourrons la revoir bientôt 🫶🏼🇫🇷
Also the rock salt tea light holders are brilliant for damp and condensation and never run out. Just make sure you put it onto a surface that won’t get ruined. I live in a very old cottage by the sea and it never stops raining here in Northern Ireland. I had put one in my bedroom on cardboard and of course it was so effective that the cardboard stuck down to my dresser due to the glue in it 🤦♀️. If you like to burn a tea light or not, the salt holders are great and you can get them in cheapo shops as well as more expensively on line.
Cat litter extra clumping is fab for damp, just sucks it right up. Can stop mould in it’s tracks too. Must admit I don’t use a sock, il just have some in an open Tupperware at night time, then during the day before I set off, I put the lid on and it goes back into the cupboard 🤗
Plus only a stove provides dry heat, I got a tiny one that produces only 1 kw of heat, if you don’t mind about a visible flue. Fortunately mine is so small that exhaust piping is used with a number of temporary 90 degree angles that go out a window ( need ventilation via a window anyway and a co2 alarm), so no hole cut in the ceiling phew and it’s installed with the heat protection on one of my countertops using no floor space up
Well thank you! As a fellow Texan I appreciate it. I truly enjoy sharing the contact about not only my van but the adventures that are out there to be had. I think it’s important that we all try to live life more fully and I hope that I lead by example.
I LOVE lady bug out!! Been following her since her early days! Im in my new van! Testing her out on the cape. Hope to join up with you all next year! Ps i LOVE all your gadgets im buying them all on your recommendation. Just got TWO of the cooling blankets. On super hot days been sleeping between the two for a cooling sandwich experience. Love love your channel!!!
Yeah such a wonderful way to implement common sense items into what you do. I enjoy seeing all of your videos and the growth that you have had with your van. I wish that when I was younger I would’ve had the bravery that you have. I saw that you were recently in Branson and it brought a smile to my face. I can only imagine what kind of beautiful videos you will be sharing from your trip.
Looks like you have it figured out. Smart decisions on all of the things that you seem to have in your van. I really enjoy watching all Of your videos and seeing what I might not have discovered yet. I might need to get one of those blankets.
Thank you! I try to add things with purpose. Sometimes that means that I have to change things out to her three times before I find the right fit but that’s OK… I try not to make videos out of heist just showing off my brand new fun thing unless I already know that it’s going to work… So a lot of times I’ll have something sitting in the van contemplating its value to me and if it works in the space long before I deliver a video LOL
I always try to have a fun time filming in hopes that it shines through…. Thank you for noticing!!! This topic is one I get asked about daily so finally I managed to make a video!!!
The magnet-less fans could be made magnetic again, just gaffa-tape some strong neodyne magnets to where the lost magnet used to be - they work through the tape! And my hand is up!😄🙋♀️
I still have the magnets for them I just need to gorilla glue them...lol.. it was a project I was going to do but haven't yet had an opportunity to do so....
Thank you so much. I have found that traveling in my small space has brought me so much joy so conveying that to others and helpful way. I’m glad that it translates.
Thanks for the great ideas. I have a Ram PROMASTER city and love it. Never thought I would even consider building it out as I don’t travel more than twice a year. But yesterday I built a prototype bed for the back so I can do overnight biking without having to set up my 4 person tent 😊. Time will tell if this is a go or no go…LOL
Speaking from experience the minute that you save yourself from having to pack away a soggy tent because the minute that you truly adopt wanting to stay in the van more often LOL
Ooh! Cooling blanket added to Amazon order! I get the moisture absorbers at Dollar Tree, they work! Science is amazing. I also use usb fans to keep the air moving. The Noggle looks interesting, hasn’t seen that one from lady bugout, I’m so behind! Great video, my van is a no build so with the exception of the seats, everything is exactly the same.
Thanks!!! I share my journey in my van but also all the fun there is to be had out there... i started my channel to encourage others to get out there and live life more fully so I hope you enjoy!!!

She has the best suggestions!! From the Noggle to some of her organization she has a great blue print for a small space!!! After having installed this and used it now for a few weeks... such a HUGE asset to have!!!
You hadn’t even finished your first sentence, and I subscribed! 3 subjects covered brilliantly that I was interested in. I’m not sure who the family vanlifers are, or even who did the walk around to put out as a blog (head like a sieve 🤦♀️) but the couple lived way up in northern Canada and had no insulation or form of heating for years. They painted their ceiling with the black rubberised paint used for stone chips around the wheel arches, and it made a huge difference to retaining any warmth, eg cooking. As someone who also does not want insulation ( live in mild climate in Northern Ireland and I’m always too warm) I have done the same. Will be interesting to see how it works 💚
Welcome to my channel! I really enjoyed sharing not only my van journey but all of the cool things that are available out there for everyone to explore
Important concepts to keep in mind when considering heating and cooling are the more solid an object the less an R-value it has and cooling efficiency is achieved not in how much cool air you can introduce into a given space but by how much hot or warm air you can remove from that space.
I think the ram promaster and the Nisan NV. I’m in California and it looks like I can get a new Ram or Nisan. It’s been hard to find a used one with under 40,000 miles so I think I’m going to buy new. Using my trade in and tax refund. So we will see.I’m looking at March April.
@@BunnyPlaysHere fruit cup?

Good advice, but why don’t you just insulate the top of your van? I enjoy seeing all your travels!
Very smart to have one in the front and the back. How long is your bus?
Have you considered a small window for improving circulation?
I’ve been asked this pretty frequently and my ongoing answer is no and less I were to get a roof vent there’s no need for me to put a window in the back. Even with that I would definitely have a lot of thought to put into it because I like that I have the stealthy this without them.
Are you considering a roof vent in the future?
Oh no…. You know what they say use what you have then upgrade when you can
How on earth did you find that blanket? I am very interested in how it works.
I have wondered why you have not insulated. But after seeing this it makes more sense. Keep doing what you do. It is enjoyable to watch.
It makes a lot more sense for me to research options and make decisions that work best for the small space!!!
I’ve seen Lady Bugout but never saw the Noggle, omg!!
Very soon!! I will be returning to base camp midweek and will be working on those!!!
This is exactly what I want to do with my van when I get it, but I was afraid it would be uncomfortable. I'm so glad I found your channel!!
You are a professional speaker your sense of humor is loved thank you
Thank you so much… I just try to be myself and share my experiences in a way that relates to others. I hope that it is helpful when people watch the videos that I produce
It is impressive how you articulate your reasons for using items.
And...the interior lights...
I have never seen that blanket. Great find and share.
Absolutely a wonderful one to have.. I have honestly never found anything quite like this one...
I have used damp rid since getting my van a year ago. Love the blanket. Going to order one. Thanks for the great information!
The blanket is phenomenal! And once you get it you’ll understand why it is the strangest feeling to be able to stand in the heat of day and touch this cold blanket that makes zero sense as to why it’s cold… I am fascinated by this thing
@@BunnyPlaysHere Where did you get your blanket? I checked out Amazon but they cost a lot more then 20.00. Thanks!

Game changer!!! Not just in vanlife in regular every day life!!!
A friend of mine has cooling sheets and pillowcases and swears by it. Love the idea of putting it under the laptop!!

So welcome!!!
We use Damprid in our beach condo. We hang the Damprid bags in each closet and put the little buckets under beds, on top of cabinets, etc.
It works so well... especially during winter in the van!!
I don't know if anyone else mentioned it but if you put some kitty litter in a sock and tie it it will keep the moisture in the van way down.
Great tip!! Thanks!!!
Fortunately mine is so small that exhaust piping is used with a number of temporary 90 degree angles that go out a window ( need ventilation via a window anyway and a co2 alarm), so no hole cut in the ceiling phew and it’s installed with the heat protection on one of my countertops using no floor space up
Not a dull moment and packed with essential info! You rock girl! 😄👍🏼

Literally best summertime investment ever…

@@BunnyPlaysHere I've added it to my Amazon shopping list!
I have never seen one of those Noggles before but you would think since they are used for children in the back seat I would have at a store.
It is a pretty clever device to say the least!! I hadn't seen one until she introduced me and now I am soooo happy to have it now!!
Important concepts to keep in mind when considering heating and cooling are the more solid an object the less an R-value it has and cooling efficiency is achieved not in how much cool air you can introduce into a given space but by how much hot or warm air you can remove from that space.
Love it I added it to my Amazon cart foe my van build
Awesome!! What kind of van are you narrowing it down to?
I think the ram promaster and the Nisan NV. I’m in California and it looks like I can get a new Ram or Nisan. It’s been hard to find a used one with under 40,000 miles so I think I’m going to buy new. Using my trade in and tax refund. So we will see.I’m looking at March April.
