    I'm Kurdish from northern Iraq but both of my surgeon parents did their medical studies and work experience rotations all over southern Iraq. Being an 80's baby, most of my childhood years in the 80's involved me visiting them in Baghdad, Samarra, Najaf, Karbala, Samawah and Baqubah. I've been lucky to live in the UK, Italy, Switzerland, France and Luxembourg, but I can never explain to you just how loving and welcoming the Arabs of southern Iraq are. My parents would be busy working in their clinics when I'd visit them and the locals who they were staying with would literally take care of me like I was their child. It now feels like it was a whole other time and place, such was the pure love, welcome and unadulterated care without expecting anything in return. I always felt so at home, and my dad still misses the years he spent in those communities. The Iran Iraq war is what changed everything. Division and suffering perpetrated and escalated through external meddling. We Kurds suffered a lot, but I'm still proud to call people all over Iraq my people.

    As a Pakistani Muslim I'm so happy to see you there in Iraq visiting one of the very most sacred and holy place for us. You are so lucky to get to be there and see it with your eyes. Many Muslims around the world especially in Pakistan wish heartily and pray that they could get to breath in that air and experience to touch the soil of najaf. I wish everyone could go there who wishes. I'm a fan your channel is addictive positively and I like your reviews you are so funny, honest and friendly. Such a bright soul and joyful. Was in Najaf for 5 months in 05. Even then as the occupiers the people were so friendly and inviting. It was a pretty safe area then and we would just patrol around and stop and engage with the people and they were always so hospitable. I’ve always wanted to go back there and visit as a tourist. Still have friends from there I met back then that I still talk to every few years.

    My favourite guy to watch. He has sacrificed a lot for these videos to be uploaded. Its really cool to see you in my city Najaf. The name najaf came after the sea dried. It means dry land. The shrine of imam ali alayhi salam is always a pleasure to see. The people and their hospitality. Its really nice to see you walking on these streets. Najafs best place to visit is rawan street. I do highly recommend visiting karbala. Its known to be heaven on earth. Good luck bro. If you were with any iraqi friend they wouldnt let you pay. We like to host our invitations. @@user-lz8ft7dg9k nice, but why always bring out the religion? If you come to our polynesian islands in South Pacific , you will be told we are nice welcoming people not that we have all the attributes of Christianity. Western people has been launching rockets and satellites for years, a progress for the whole world. Saudi Arabia sends a satellite (all western technology), they take it as a victory for muslim. Very peculiar.

This extraordinary display of generosity is truly a unique and awe-inspiring phenomenon, unlike anything found elsewhere in the world.

    Your passport is the most important document you have when you travel , never ever leave it with anyone as you can't go far without it and if lost can cause a huge range of problems including lost or delayed travel plans out of the country .
    I have experienced the same situation , a few times where the person behind the hotel reception counter wants to keep it when I arrived instead of returning it as soon as it is photo copied .
    They have told me that they want to look at my travel history which is none of their business , it is not safe leaving it with someone as it could disappear of the counter when the receptionist is called away from the counter if not locked up .
    Also if you leave your passport with the hotel and the stay has problems , you are stranded there until the passport is returned or found .

    • @bebsllance2455
      @bebsllance2455 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Passports are “ISSUED” in the name of the person holding the document. This means by law (my understanding) in the case of Australia this Federal document is meant to be HELD by the official name issued it to. Ring your local embassy immediately if ever asked to do what Luke Damant was asked. Possibly language barrier or local Country law, but just check.
