    Pointless and dangerous to have uncontrolled intersections, doesn’t matter where, It just equals a accident waiting to happen. It’s not goin to hurt the municipals to put in 2 stop or yield signs, but no they have these things all over the place just for cash grabs, if you you know what I mean.Tell me one good reason a 4 way street would not need to have a traffic control device?,
    regardless of how slow or busy the neighbourhood is

      My dog was killed at an uncontrolled intersection. Multiple children have been run over at the same intersection, too. I live really close to a school zone, and there are a lot of problems with speeding in my town, so I don't understand why there have been no changes.

      Yeah just two sets of yield lines for the lesser of the two roads would eliminate all confusion.

      You are right, I have been wondering the reason behind this, it’s totally useless and it’s an accident waiting to happen

    Happened to me today and failed my test

    In my country cars coming from the left have to wait until there is safe space for them to go. Cars from the right have to scan the view for unexpected situations, but should not slow down if everything is ok. I live in Norway.

    Had a question. My daughter was in a similar scenario with her driving test, she slowed down and was rolling slow, but didn’t have her foot minding the breaks, so the examiner failed her, and said because she didn’t have her foot minding the breaks it’s an automatic failure! Mind you there were no other vehicles. Is that accurate in it being an automatic fail?! I’m in Alberta by the way.

      Hi there,
      Yes that's a valid reason for failing a road test. This situation you're describing happens very frequently during driving lessons. When the student has the car rolling slowly but isn't necessarily covering the brake, it's telling the instructor (or in your daughter's case, an examiner) that this student hasn't fully grasped the concept of scanning (carefully) for potential threats. It leaves the examiner feeling like if a threat had shown up at the last second, the examinee would not be able to react promptly. So in a way, it's good that your daughter will have some more time to practice with a supervisor before finally driving on her own.

      Swear this happened to me.... I yield check both sides and front twice then turned.... the instructor said I had to stop, I asked why if there was no cars coming at all, I slowed down turned going 10 mph and failed

    What if you don’t have a stop sign but they do on both sides? Do you still have to stop?

    What if two vehicles arrive at the intersection at the same time who has the right-away?

      Driver on the right should go first.

    What happened when three cars at the same time approached the uncontrolled intersection

  • @yogie915915
    @yogie915915 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    So what's the proper way to do it when there's no cars and you check all sides and slow down when turning

    we have a really weird intersection with only one stop sign and it’s always so busy. People would just skip passed each other and not wait, people would constantly honk at each other too, nobody ever knows what they’re doing on that intersection its hilarious 😂 i always try to avoid that intersection.

    what is the speed limit in residential uncontrolled intersections ?

    • @konnorheindl6538
      @konnorheindl6538 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      25mph

    • @melinuxf00l

      It depends on your jurisdiction. Here in Maine, it is 15 miles per hour *if your view is obstructed*, and whatever the normal speed limit of the road is if visibility is good. They are also so rare in this state that I can't think of any that exist on public roads.

    I failed my test because of this. The most stupid thing ever, like why don’t they just put a yield sign? It just seems like unnecessary danger
