Hello Guys welcome to another video of DRIVING TV!
I wanted to share with you guys the last step when it comes to getting that license, which is taking the DMV Road test.
While this can be nerve-wracking for all parties involved, it’s essential to be prepared for this test just like they would for any other test.
While some mistakes are allowed during your road test at the DMV, they will still have points subtracted from your score if you make them.
Listen up carefully, these are the most common mistakes that new drivers make during their driver’s test. These are important for you to know so you can make sure you don't lose points.
Here's the list:
Improper lane changing.
Changing lanes in an intersection.
Not keeping both hands on the wheel.
Confusion at four-way stops.
Forgetting your turn signals.
Rolling stops.
Distracted driving.
Lack of steering control.
Driving too slowly.
Driving too fast for conditions.
Following too closely.
Braking too hard.
Not checking mirrors.

I passed today after months of watching videos and stressing, I have to say I was so nervous over almost nothing. DONT OVERTHINK IT! I’m on the other side of these videos now, you will be too. Thank you so much I am looking at videos now I had 10 hours of driving lessons from a driving school but my greatest fear is turning into a parking space sometimes I got it right and another time I am on the line I am struggling with the intersections any tips
@@vervanwilliams I live in the US so my tips will be for US driving. To be honest I am not perfect at parking my best advice is practice and watch TH-cam because it helped me a lot. also, as silly as it sounds, if you have any hot wheels or toy cars, use those to visualize what to do. That’s how I got parallel parking down. As for intersections, this took a while for me too, but remember to always yield on a left turn. Best of luck!

I passed my driving test last Friday, at the first attempt. I created a book of knowledge from your driving lessons and memorized it quite well. That helped me get a grip on reference points. The DMV person even mentioned that I did pretty good in the driving test.

@@SurelySpooks my test wasn’t hard at all! i’d say the hardest part is the parallel parking so just make sure you practice before actually taking your test! and i spent less than 10 minutes actually driving for my test, but every state/dmv is different with how long they make you drive for! i wish you the best of luck when taking it! just make sure you practice as much as you can before going :)

@@ljblakejr I passed with a 74🤣it’s very easy but I would definitely say practice your parking as much as possible. Like your parallel , downhill etc … and if you know that you made a mistake dknt stress on it just improve your driving from that point on never worry about by mistake you make just focus on the next part of the drive

I just passed my test yesterday . It was so easy , and I have the worst anxiety , my examiner was so chill ! The test was literally 5 minutes ! Just stay calm !

It all depends on the instructor. Having a good day you’ll pass even if you run over some kids. Having a bad day you failed even before getting in the car.

Mines failed me because I didn’t have my mask completely on and because I didn’t signal when passing a parked car but I signaled every other turn and I grazed the curb a bit that’s all she said I get my test results 30 points is the minimum to pass she gave me over 100 sum points clicked on everything she could click on smh

I’m 22 and failed twice, I live in a pretty easy driving area and the test is only 5-10 minutes which is nothing compared to a lot of these tests but I still failed and makes me feel even worse. The first one I deserved to fail, but the second time was because of how nervous I got and paranoid but still was a lot better than my first one. I was so sad I didn’t schuedule again for half a year and my permit expired and my 5 hour course. I got both back on track and going to go at it until I get it down. Hopefully third time is the charm.

Me too lol 22 and failed test twice. Third test is tomorrow hope I’ll pass. First time failed bc I didn’t know I was supposed to let passing traffic pass first, second time was bc I hit a cone in maneuverability and didn’t stop at a stop sign

Guys I failed my first test because I was anxious. Took my second one yesterday very confidently and passed. The key to passing is to stay confident and remember everything you know and were taught, you got this guys, you’re gonna get your license!!!

Glad it was helpful. Congrats 🎉 on passing!! Definitely don’t feel bad if you need to wait, it’s all about when you feel prepared.
After 5 fails I finally got my license! It’s pretty easy for the evaluator to fail you for simple mistakes so keep your head up if it happens. Failure doesn’t necessarily mean you’re a bad driver. Keep practicing and go at it again. You’re bound to get someone who believes in you.
I thought you had to restart the whole process of getting your permit if you failed 3 times?
@@ant140 Depends on the state i think. In NY you can take the driving test as many times as you can, but you have to pay a $10 fee for every two tests

I failed because I didn’t look over my shoulder just 1 time. It sucks.

i- I cannot believe I just passed on my first try 😀 it was wayy easier than I thought and I honestly SUCK at driving. I went in thinking I was gonna fail like it was all just a waste of time but as soon as I got behind the wheel I got confident out of no where and I ended up doing great

I'll add a couple of details. Every time you move the vehicle sideways or turn, you MUST look twice before moving. So, for lane changes, check mirror, signal (happens at the same time) and check blind spot, look forward again. You must have a minimum of 3 flashes on the signal. And then do a mirror and shoulder check again before changing lanes. All the other tips were good. At 5:20 the test vehicle was travelling in the left lane. For the purposes of a driving test, you must travel in the right lane unless the driving examiner tells you to turn left in the next couple of blocks. You are going to be driving the speed limit, so all the other traffic is going to be moving around you. Thus you must be in the right lane. And after making a left turn, move back to the right lane. And no, the examiner won't tell you to do that. Drop me a note if I can help further. All the best, Cheers Rick

I’ve been watching theses kind of videos for the past couple of weeks, because I’m taking my road test July 25th and watching theses make me feel confident and ready but still super nervous!!! Ahhhh mainly nervous about parallel parking but besides that I think I’ll nail it!
Passing the DMV test is when you study hard, if you can’t study or you don’t have time for your studies I’d advise you get yourself a help like Mr James
I’ve always believed DMV is not for all but studying, you need God’s grace to pass

1. Changing lanes check-light on-change 2. No changing at intersections 3. Both hands on the wheel 4. Four way Stop sign first come first serve or whoever to the right goes first 5. Turn signal is there for a reason -use it 6. Stop sign always full stop and stay behind the white line 7. No distraction. Hold your bangers for a little bit 8. Wheel control 9. Speed limit not too slow 10. drive too fast under inclement weathers 11. Braking too hard 12. checking mirrors always

I have been practicing for about a year and I drive all the time but I have major anxiety... I did get some advice from my manager that may help some, instead of being anxious and in a "test taker" mode, imagine yourself as a first time Uber driver who really wants to get that 5 STAR review!! that way you are still following the rules of the road and on your toes but not SO nervous.... gosh I hope I pass!!! Your videos have been extremely calming and helpful :)

Update: I PASSED!! I'm in Illinois and took my written and driving test at Lake Zurich. It was all very easy and nothing to be worried about!! I have major anxiety but my instructor was great and kept me calm, watching the videos helped a bunch but the actual driving test was only 10 min, and written test was 35 questions, only got 1 wrong. If I can do it, so can you!

Just practice and you’ll do fine on your test I passed my first time with a 79 and he said I was a good driver I just got points for a few very minor things. The test is really not that bad at all it was way easier then I thought. Seriously I know everyone says it but just relax and be confident it seriously helps and talk to the instructor especially if he/she is a friendly one and you’ll do fine

I’m a bit nervous to go for my second try tomorrow but it’s been two years which is both more practice/study time AND two more years of wanting that freedom. Once I pass I’ll practically never have to worry about it again.

Today I failed with 1 minors and 2 major. I cried I admit that. I was so eager to get my license so that I wouldn’t disappoint my family. But today I did just that. The 1st majors was improper lane changing (I wasn’t in the right lane) the 2nd major was the reverse parking. I didn’t park in between the lines. The minor was I forget to turn left when he told me to turn left at the next street. Other than those I only had 3 points took off everything else was great.

test tomorrow. I think that whats helping me stay calm is being confident in myself, but not overly confident. Just a note to anyone out there who is stressing -- even if you fail, you can still take it again another time. Ill update you guys tomorrow when I find out.

I've a road test day after tomorrow. I've failed 3 times mainly because of anxiety, missed proper shoulder check and not maintaining speed while changing lanes. Hope this time I'll avoid all the mistakes and get my license with all these good vibes.
Not only that it's important to drive well on your own, but it's also THAT important to communicate with other drivers with signals and treat them with respect.
