The resemblance from spanish and sevillian imagery is obvious to anyone who lives around here, even the bosses' names are straight up translations of similar names of religious icons. Same here, Im from Málaga, so its quite amazing the way they have transformed our iconography, actually its kinda how Semana Santa looked in my mind as a child hahaha. I had the chance to play an early build in Gamepolis (an annual videogame fest, here in Málaga), it has come a loooong way since then, the game looks like a blast to play.

Well considering that most are 2d , yea when it comes to those an artist skill can really shine , that is the beauty of 2d games , ofc there are 3d games that can be like that too but mostly in 2d , when you have an engine that you can hand drawn everything . That being said not all 2d games look quite as stunning and apealing like this either many are more normal , typical 2d .This one shines bc at its core well the devs are Spanish and utilizes Spain specific iconography images and figures , artwork probably too and not all games do that , thats for sure . The main big reason i am so attractive about it to the point i might want to try it myself if it will work well on my system , having played the los games also from a Spanish developer it atracted me even more . I guess Spain has very talented and creative vg artists.

Not been so excited for an indie game in forever. The music is gorgeous and drenched in tone. Appreciate all the effort gone into the spritework, gives me the same sense of excitement as I got over Chaos Engine and Metal Slug 3. Only thing I'd ask for would be subtle, occasional pallet swaps of the basic enemies - given how much graft has to go into animating a slightly different sprite, it'd be a low-effort means of varying such a common encounter it in a nice way.
I was laughing at his helmet being a giant cone until he filled it completely full of blood... Then I just realized he might be more badass then Doom Slayer somehow

I backed this when I first saw it. It's shaped up VERY nicely and I'm glad it's getting more exposure. The baby boss ripping the protagonist on half instantly sold me on the game.

I am getting strong Diablo 1 and 2 vibes from the mood and the ambient musical scores. Plus, one of the themes sound extremely similar to "rogue encampment" from Diablo 2. I can't be the only one who noticed this.

What a remarkable piece of art. It has the heroic journey of Ninja Gaiden from the NES with the grim atmosphere of Chakan on the Genesis as well as amazing graphic art like Oddworld from the original Playstation. Love the dark Christianity vibes and Latin vocabulary put to work; it really makes the game come alive.
At first I thought the Penitent One was going to drink a helmet full of his victim's blood. But then what happened may have been worse! Can you imagine?! With a tight enough helmet, it would be like your head was in an astronaut's helmet, only instead of air...it's full of blood.
Looks pretty intense! Hoping the release build will have more aggressive enemies, with a couple more moves. Especially the bosses. A little unpredictability at any given moment would suit this game, I think.
