My sister was entranced , she had met Prince Charming and this was it , but sadly no romance followed . Jeremy was the younger son of a very good family , his father a handsome man and his mother strikingly beautiful , Jeremy took after his mother .

Gorgeous. Makes my heart soar, cliched as that sounds.
FINALLY! Someone giving him credit and not complaining that Jeremy Brett was dubbed or thinking that Brett did the singing. Shirley had nothing to do with the decision to have Brett dubbed it's not his fault. Then there's also the fact that Brett claimed he did the singing for years that Shirley just 'sweetened' the high notes (info from Bill Shirley's IMDB page). Which I'm sorry but that's kind a douchebag move. Anyone who's seen this or even Sleeping Beauty can tell you that Bill Shirley had an amazing voice!
Jeremy Brett was dubbed by Bill Shirley because Brett was a baritone and they wanted a tenor voice for Freddy.He was upset because of it because he was a good singer but his barítone voice wasnt for the role..z

Does anyone know where the reprise of this song is? I'm talking about in part 2 of the movie, when he's wearing a boater hat and singing this when Eliza "suddenly appears" in her peach dress, running away...just before she sings "Show Me".

Unfortunately Jeremy Brett didn't know when he siged up for the part that he would be dubbed; he was devastated when, well into rehearsals, he was advised that his own (wonderful) voice would make Freddie seem older than he should be ie Freddie was very young and passionate - the total opposite of Professor Higgins

Audrey Hepburn took umbrage over being dubbed ? They were both lucky to have been cast (or miscast) in the first place.
Why didn't Warner's just-hire Bill Shirley for the role of Freddie, instead of Brett, then the song-dubbing wouldn't've been an issue? Shirley had acting-experience and certainly was handsome-enough. Don't get me wrong, I like Brett just-fine in the role but I don't see what difference his physical-presence made in the film, when his singing had to be dubbed. As far as I know, Brett wasn't well-known by the public-at-large at that time, though perhaps he was in Britain, I don't know.
