Glad to see another DDO TH-camr! I'd suggest you take your 2nd level of rogue at 9. That way you get level 4 spells (firewall and death aura) at level 8 instead of 10.
Or take both rogue at the beginning to get evasion. I’m glad to see you took enlarge. Having all non-touch spells be at ray range is the best thing I ever do on any caster.
Hello, Mical! Congrats on the channel, it's always good to have people targeting content for new/newer players. I think there are a few omissions there, though. If we're talking first life, then it's very possible the person doesn't know the game well enough to know where all the traps are, which makes "spot" a must in my view. So I'd replace one of the skills (spellcraft?) with "spot". One could say that might not be enough to be able to spot traps at elite/reaper at higher levels, which would be true and leads me to the second omission: trapping gear. I think it would have been good to mention that the skills by themselves possibly won't be enough to have no fail or even a high chance of success while trapping and therefore include gear swaps for search, disable device and open locks, and try to find a way to have a spot item permanently equipped. Finally, 5 piece winter will give added threat, which is not recommended for a caster, even less so a first lifer one, which is squishier. I'd replace one of those Winter pieces with something else. Yeah, the gear tetris to be able to pull off hybrid builds can be a pain sometimes, but that's life. :) Cheers!
All great points. I tried to squeeze spot in there, which I thought I chose over spellcraft, but looking back I dont think I did. I dont know why I completely blanked on putting trapping gear in the set. Keylock ring from Ravenloft is a good fit in. And youre right, only doing 4 pieces instead of 5 is better.
@@MysticMical Yep, the keylock ring is a good option. Since we're talking about taking one winter piece out you could maybe replace the winter ring with it and then add an impulse scepter from the Planar Eyes chain since you also got the weapon slot open. You'd lose glaciation, though.
@@MysticMical No problem. I like to play hybrids as well. I have a similar build using bard instead of wiz, a spellsinger 18 bard/2 rogue, so I know it can be a pain to fit everything you need for dual role toons to work. Good luck with the edit. :)
Nice build. The most fun I've had recently we from two wizard builds I did. One was a straight forward wf thf eldritch knight and the most recent is a human 2/18 artificer/wizard that uses rune arms and heavy repeater and split between pale master and eldritch knight. Both were a total blast! I'm not sure if the end game capabilities yet but up to 20 they were great. Thanks for the video!
@@MysticMical Strimtom casually tossed out the idea of a Art 2/ Warforged EK crossbow Wizard back in Hardcore Season 1. I've not played many hours with it but I created a couple level 10 on different servers & they're pretty strong so far. Didn't try the PM angle myself.
thank you i needed a build for hardcore and wanted something that could disable traps and heal itself and have a bit more survivability but personally if you were making a trapper take nimble fingers instead of toughness plus two to trapping and opening locks will help a great deal
Good build for starting off. This build you really can’t go wrong with. With the extra 2 stat points on build I would probably put it into Str to make it easier to carry gear. As you’re using Int for reflex save, the two points into Dex are a bit wasted. At the early levels when you can’t get much Str from items, you don’t want to be encumbered all the time.
I’m trying to build a Pale/Cleric saw Adabars Phoenix build and thought wouldn’t it be great to have a Palemaster with Divine intervention and Turning? Prob mess up but oh well.. Magus for Epics.

Excellent idea, love it
I second this.

Also you get evasion at level 2 rogue which is an amazing feat.
