The repair I did was just cleaning with some isopropyl alcohol the entire connectors and chips area, which had some sulfate on them, now the touch works like a charm!

Did it without the blowdryer and miraculously didn't break the glass or mess up the LCD even more. Then googled replacement lcd and saw this vid. Would of been 10x easier
Though I'm not qualified to say this, to those installing it, I recommend lining up or even attaching the pin connector just before you commit to attaching the adhesive side. I ended up breaking the ends of the pins trying to force it to align when I should've just carefully remove the screen and properly align it. I was using a custom one, so you might not encounter this problem with an OEM one.

The custom one would be some moon-like color on the screen, and the tactility of the screen would not be smooth like the original one unless you put on a temper screen protector, but both custom and OEM works fine on the device

If your phone drop and the screen crack, it would be OK after replace the damaged screen, but there's another possibility that motherboard inside damaged when dropping, so if you worry about that, you can go to the repair store and ask professional guy to check it first.
May Samsung j700f is all dark (no light) but it's all perfectly working, I can answer call, music by earphone. Please help me, it is possible need to change the LCD?
Sancy Caampued may be your display having any light issue or may it you lose your display, best to go through any good repair center to know its actual condition, wish you face its light problem, which can solve with a small amount, best of luck

My J 7 does not have a removable back cover and battery. It was bought in The Philippines and now the screen has had a creeping dark spot that now covers about 3/4 of the screen. It is still usable, but difficult to read. How do I change the screen and is this a hardware problem I can fix or is it software related and just junk?

Try reconnect the screen flex, if it doesn't work then check if the screen flex intact? check if PIN on flex cable missing or bent

Did you drop the phone before? If yes the screen connector may loosen, try open the phone and reconnect the screen flex cable.

Sounds like "ghost touch", here is advice: first update your cell system, then adjust the screen bright to auto adjustment, see if the problem solved.
