- What do your tattoos mean? My star was just because I thought it looked good. My skull was my reward for winning the marathon world championships in 2010, my triangle on my hand reminds me to keep moving forward and make progress, and my turtle/Pura Vida tattoo on my leg is a reminder of my amazing time in Costa Rica. New tattoos - mountains on my arm & VV on my wrist because I didn't know what I wanted until 5 mins before I got them!

- Why aren't you training for kayaking anymore? - I see new opportunities everyday, I'm just grabbing them as they appear and keep working hard, right now that's TH-cam & Film. I'm happy I made the change!

Obviously I'm not a big narwhal eater, but when you're at a local's birthday party in the Arctic and the offer, there's no way I'm going to 'high horse' it and refuse. Tasted pretty awful, certainly the last time I eat narwhal!

It's weird... I was obviously amazed by the sceneries but watching the clip where the locals invited you to celebrate with them has been the best I have seen so far. I don't know, seeing their kindness and just how happy that man was for just sharing some of his stories with you made my heart warm. These people's lives may be simple but yet so full.

that old guy is Cmdr Chris Hadfield, an astronaut that has been on the International Space station many times. I think alot of people missed that when they watched this. Must have been awesome to meet him, and on his birthday in both of their first trips to Greenland. I'm suprised Ben didn't mention more about him in the vlog.
***** Hahaha I know who Cmdr Chris Hadfield is, he's one of my heroes. I wish I could meet him at one of his book signings but I don't think he's coming to Ireland anytime soon sadly. I was referring to the older man who was celebrating his birthday with his family outside his house in that little town.

Emilio - I'm sorry if I disappoint you, but you're wrong about the dogs, though close to truth... These are Greenlandic sleddogs, family to both Siberian Huskies and Alaskan Malamutes.

The English title is "Tears of The Arctic" and it was produced by Korean Broadcasting company called MBC, in 2008.
I don't know if it's available on the internet with Eng sub, but it is one of the most powerful environmental documentaries about global warming.

Ben, you did such a fantastic job of capturing real conversations in this video, the intimate moments you have in here, like the old man talking about his dad and his birthday and the woman at the narwhale cook out, feel so genuine! That's so hard to do when you've got a camera in strangers' faces, so I'm really impressed and I really enjoyed watching this video. I have to ask though, do all of the people here know that they were filmed and put in your vlog? If so what's your trick for getting the folks you talk to to be so at ease while you're filming?
