He lost his semifinal against Duda (who went on to beat Karjakin in the final match), and then proceeded to totally pulverize Fedoseev 2-0, winning both games with sublime positional and tactical brilliancy. Seriously, both of those games are among my favorite games ever.
He also won the Bronze medal of the World Cup 2007 when he was eliminated by Gata Kamsky (the eventual winner) in the semi finals also when he was eliminated in the world cup 2017 by Bu Xiangzhi that was in the third round or the round of 32 not the round of 16 as Levy mentioned

It's grid locked enough to where one can reroute knight back to kick pieces with pawns generating long term pawn momentum with eye toward end game. I'm not sophisticated enough to feel comfortable with the line, but I see it.
