Yes, this very young age is a big factor to be taking in consideration when making analysis. But the huge talent is there. Lamine at 17 is way better than Messi was at 17 (and European champion). Cubarsi already neutralised perfectly in Champions League Victor Osimhen and had a big role in holding at bay Mbappe while playing against PSG in his second Champions League game. If that's not immense potential, I don't know what is.

While Cubarsi hasn't shown the God level press resistance of Busi yet, but, i think his ball handling, long passing, game awareness... make him a better fit than Eric in the absence of a proper DM. Maybe even for the long term.

The fact that he's being compared to top class defenders rather than any other defender his age shows his level, at just 17, is already up there. Him and Araujo will secure Barca's back for years to come.
So good generational defender I think if you compare him with pique and ramos at his age his already better than both of them I think his in a mould of pique but also has that dogness of ramos but he is an elite talent
As a Barca fan I must say that it's really unfortunate that he plays alongside Yamal which takes alot of spotlight off him. He's been just as important as Yamal in all our game so far. Ernesto Valverde explained it best after Athletic club match. They really struggled to counter his ball playing ability and passes.
La Masia is just a cheat code, even if Curbasi for some reason doesn`t get any better then he is right now, he would still be a top 10-15 CB in the entire world. And the kid is 17 in many countries he isn`t even old enough to drink alcohol or drive , and he is playing at a very high level for one of the most historic football clubs in the history of the game.

The example of the "penalty he conceded against RM" is a shame, it's not a Pen, the RM player dragged his foot on for contact to engage with Cubarsi, that's a poor ref decision.
I love Lamine however what Pau is doing is actually more impressive.Grooming a young defender is so difficult.Many world class defenders like were still a little shaky right up to 24 or so.Pau has the composure of a veteran at 17.WOW!!
His lack of speed is a concern.. it's something he can't improve upon, since you either have speed, or you don't.. however he needs to improve his tackling.. wonderful wonderful talent..
@FreddieGamingHD Maldini and Puyol were pretty fast... Of course when Maldini turned into a CB, he was not as fast as his LB days... However Cubarsi plays a much higher line, than Maldini ever played, of course due to tactics of coach.. hence having decent recovery speed always comes handy.. Mascherano also had decent recovery speed... I am not asking to be as fast as Araujo or bellerin.. however bursts of acceleration, even over a short distance of say 30-40 mtrs, will help him a lot , especially when flick deploys such high line.. Of course he is 17 only, the burst of acceleration may get developed as he physically matures, fingers crossed..
