Returning to PSO for the first time since Gamecube and this was super helpful. Glad to know my girl RAmarl is actually as good as I thought she was when i was a kid.
RAmarl is great, particularly solo. If you have a force in the party then a RAcast will generally be better, but shes still a very strong class. Welcome back to PSO!
Great reminder that her handgun animation is faster. Also reminded to hunt down a HS. Even though I mainly play RAmarl on Ephinea, I'm not sure what I can add. Maybe her faster handgun animation would give a benefit to using a Hell/Demon's Raygun over a Laser. I do find reasons to use my Rianov 303SNR-5 (such as De Rol Le, flying dragon or falz spinners), though in practically the Cannon Rouge sounds like a better option for hitting multiple hit boxes. I did notice it worked well clearing out the lines of those little guys during Barba Ray. If it could combo and had a hell special instead of dark then it may have been a great alternative to a hell needle for those who did not want to do cmode.
Yeah, the Rianov was really noticeable on Barba Ray. Normally the Pig Rays are really annoying, but most of them were getting taken out before they could move across the raft. I think it's a very situational weapon but definitely has areas it's great for.
Nice, you managed to pull off the sandbox thing, was it hard to set up? I personally would like to see you fight the bosses with their specific weapons, or at least just a small clip like you already do for each one basically. I believe there's a command that let's you teleport anywhere, not sure if you can teleport to boss rooms directly but that could be useful! Which FO are we seeing next? :D
I think you can instantly boss warp in Sandbox, yeah. Setup was easy, you just need to make a new Ephinea account and select Sandbox on the website when you set it up. Spawning items is a little complicated, but I use another tool to automate that. Next FO will be either FOmar or FOnewm, I haven't decided yet!
Part of me wishes I went with a Purplenum or Greenil Ramarl, but I'm complaining satisfied with Redria, and at 157 currently, I'm extremely happy that I stuck it out this far.
Redria is generally a very solid, balanced ID so I don't necessarily think you've made a bad choice. You could always make another character Greenill or Purplenum later. Congrats on getting to 150+, it takes a while!
@SectionSkyly Thank you so much! Training in Episode 2 is definitely worth it. I used the VR Spaceship to train since I'm more comfortable with things there instead of CCA. I was thinking about making a Ramar with either of those section ID.
CCA in Ultimate is definitely a big step up in difficulty from the two VR areas. At least as a RA you have access to some of the best crowd control weapons in the game! Onward to lv200? 😅
@SectionSkyly This is true. I'm close to reaching 160. Might as well keep going so I can make back to the Ruins in Ultimate mode. Those giant flowers firing out Megid are the most annoying aspects of CCA.
Hey, great and informative video, I definitely chose ramarl based on this video and you saying it was a great solo class in another video (or one of your streams i don't remember). I have a question regarding the weapon swapping menu you brought up several times, is there a way to hotkey this in the non-sandbox version? And if so, how?
Thanks for the comment! I play on controller, and for me the quick menu is accessed by holding right bumper (whatever button you use to switch to 2nd pallette) and pressing the top face button. So on a Xbox controller it would be RB+Y. Unfortunately I'm not that familiar with the keyboard controls for BB, but I would imagine it's the 'change pallette' and 'top action pallette' keys. While the quick menu is open, you can then use right bumper to cycle through weapons, items and techniques. It's very useful for almost any class!
Being able to use 250 mats is a a god send for this class. I didnt know about it! Got 120 pow mats and 100 def mats, and gotta find luck mats for the rest Made a RAmarl a day and a half ago and got to ult, with decent equips. Very versatile for soloing with buffs and debuffs. Getting through lvl 80-100 with ease
RAmarl is incredible as a solo class. Having all the benefits of support techs, plus Ranger's arsenal makes her easily one of the stronger solo classes. I'm leveling one myself at the moment!
I leveled a ramarl to 200 back in the day on GameCube. Easily one of the best classes in the game. A high hit snow queen or frozen shooter and challenge run berserk needle absolutely shreds. Of all the characters I got to 200 her and hucast were the most fun.
Is there any way to play this game offline on PC without the shady private server installers? I always end up with the DC and GC versions just because I can't find a better way to play this game on PC unfortunately...
On Ephinea's website they have a client called Tethealla, which you can use to set up your own local server (effectively offline). It is a little complicated though and I'm not that familiar with it so maybe check there for details. Generally for BB though you're stuck with either setting your own server up or playing on a private one. If you don't want to use an installer then unfortunately DC/GC might be the only options (unless Sega decide to remaster). For what it's worth, the 'Sandbox' mode I showed in this video is a separate mode; you can't play with other non-sandbox players. Sandbox is mainly for testing builds out etc, so don't worry about running into a game with Sandbox players.
Are you looking to play without an internet connection? If not, Ephinea is entirely safe my man, many of us have been playing it for years with no problems at all. You can play single player mode if you want!
@@cupcaketyrantdar2483 I discovered this pso schthack server and I'm currently playing on it through Dolphin but there aren't that many people playing online, it's usually between 15 and 30 depending on the time, but what I like most about the GC version is that the savedata stays locally and I can also play the singleplayer mode with ease, I heard that this is not possible in BB, but I will try Ephinea as well

@@SectionSkyly Good to know, thanks for the advice ^^
I've landed on ramarl for my first character! Thanks for all your info. Played so much back in the day and excited to dabble in pso again

Thanks!
