I love the black-trimmed version of the Audi livery that didn't appear again after 2000. It is a little bit annoying that they couldn't commit to either a matte or gloss finish for the black-painted bits and instead have a mix of black finishes on the car, but you only really notice that when it's stationary in the pits. That year's version of the R8 was the best-looking regardless of the livery because it had more rounded edges than later developments of the car. The Champion Audi looked incredible in both their normal livery and the post-9/11 Petit Le Mans livery in 2001, when they got their hands on that beautiful 2000 car.
@@thestrand11 I think I know the one you're talking about, although the "pink" threw me off at first. I remember flipping through Speedgear catalogs as a kid in the 2000s and seeing diecasts of different Audi R8s in rare liveries including that #3 car from Le Mans 2002 and the Crocodile car as raced in Adelaide.
Don't quote me, but I seem to remember something about a rule change preventing a single team from running more than 2 cars. I think that had something to do with it. Also, the car colors were the colors of the German flag. The top 2 finishers were the gold and red cars.
