I've been thinking a lot about content creation and my relationship with my professional musical career lately, and I wanted to make this video as I'm sure I can't be the only one thinking it's all gotten a bit silly... Feel free to chip in with your opinion, this is just my take on the whole music industry / content / social media landscape as it stands in 2024.

Hey Joe, hope you're doing great! Thought of you today and checked your channel to find this video.
It was a great watch, since I've shared a lot of your thoughts in some form. Those resulted in me quitting Instagram last year - literally "just stopping it" as you put it. Very importantly not just stopped creating but stopped consuming everyone else's uninspired stuff, feeling the fakeness and the sense of obligation in the air, as you say. It's been a great decision.
You touch on a great point which is where I've circled back to as well, and that's the idea of doing what you really want. We touched on this on my episode if I remember correctly, how it's easy to get "what we really want" all wrong - "music career", "financial safety goal", "online optics", etc. Once I realized those were not TRULY what I was looking for in music, quitting making stupid Instagram stuff for example was just a natural byproduct.
It's not any easier. Instead of struggling making tedious work, I'm struggling with myself everyday grasping to find real meaning in music making. But the key is I got to pick my "struggle", not some external system. It's even harder, yet liberating. Sleep better.
