In the third installment of National Geographic’s “Into Water” 360 series, canoe through the sprawling Canadian wilderness with freshwater ecologist and National Geographic Explorer Dalal Hanna. She researches Quebec’s extensive freshwater systems, collecting samples from streams, rivers and lakes to assess ecosystem health, with the aim of protecting these precious resources. “Into Water: Canada” is the third stop on an around the world 360 tour that documents the work of female Explorers who’ve dedicated their careers to water related issues.

I live in Quebec, Canada and it's true : the rivers and lakes here are truly breathtaking. I fell in love as a kid and I too, decided to become a limnologist. Working outside surrounded by nature and water really is the best feeling in the word.
To protect fresh water ...... is to protect life.....Amen!

Oh my goodness! I'm from Minnesota and went canoeing with my family in the boundary waters in Canada in1970. It was extraordinary. We went through customs so that every can, paper packet, etc. could be listed, then every single thing brought back out again or face a fee assessed for garbage left behind. They were serious about keeping the area pristine, which totally fit our way of doing things any way! We portaged between lakes and chose our campsite based on its proximity to water, flat land available, and such. We got drinking water from the middle of the lake, designated an area for latrine and left a small shovel there. We got hungry enough to enjoy what passed for freeze dried dinners.😂. But most of all we were just blown away by the extreme beauty. There were lakes that were so clear you could look down and see the lake floor with boulders and the fish swimming around. I found some fishing line with a hook that I tied to a two foot long stick, then managed to catch a fish with my improvised pole, baited with a noodle and piece of corn. The other two with real poles didn't catch anything!!!😂 The place certainly made an impression on me! And my love of the great outdoors. Watching this today brought it all back! Canada is so beautiful.💓💛💚💙💜😃

It might be helpful to explain the problems that you're finding if you want to get people involved. Like maybe explain that microplastics are being found in the rain water. Maybe give some sources for people to get involved and maybe some tips on how people can change their daily lives to help reduce these problems.

The best way to watch this is in the TH-cam App on your phone, otherwise you can't get the full 360 experience, and the quality will indeed seem poor.

I recommend downloading the TH-cam App and watching on your phone. There, you can turn around with your phone in your hands and get the true 360 experience. Otherwise, the video will be blurry, because it's a virtual reality piece. I hope that helps!
