Catholic Reacts to Adhan in Abu Dhabi

  • It’s 5:30AM as I look out to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. One of the pleasures of being here is hearing the adhan, or call to prayer, early in the morning. Hearing the adhan on loud speakers is not common in the USA, my home country. It’s an important reminder to give thanks to God the sustainer as we start another day 🙏🏻.

Mr Coleman, the greatest people after the Prophets are the Sahaba (ra) - the prophets companions who earn a special place beside the prophet. They were all reverts.
Should Allah guide your heart and soul, you too shall possess a special place and title similar to the that of the companions of the prophet.
That yearning and restlessness you feel from time to time.....is your calling.
Follow it and respond to it.

Best advice I was given before I accepted Islam was to ask the creator to guide me to the truth and give me the power to submit to and follow it once it was made clear. I was told to ask God directly without any intermediary and to ask him with sincerity and humility. Truly he is the one that answers prayers.

The part that perplexes people with your position is the fact that Allah already knew the exact choices we would make. What this means is that nothing can take place except that the creator has allowed it to take place while at the same time we are all responsible for our choices and actions. Beautiful.

Then Allah sends an angel to write four items: He writes his deeds, time of his death, means of his livelihood, and whether he will be wretched or blessed (in religion). Then the soul is breathed into his body. So a man may do deeds characteristic of the people of the (Hell) Fire, so much so that there is only the distance of a cubit between him and it, and then what has been written (by the angel) surpasses, and so he starts doing deeds characteristic of the people of Paradise and enters Paradise. He is aware of the choices that will be made by his creation before he created them. This becomes even more clear once you take all the verses and hadith about this subject and understand them in their totality. "Allah burdens not a person beyond his scope. He gets reward for that (good) which he has earned, and he is punished for that (evil) which he has earned. "Our Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into error, our Lord! I doubt that because being Muslim means obeying Allaah subhaanahu wa ta'laa and prophet Muhammad sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam and the description of the good and bad deeds are clear in the Quran. We should ask for guidance instead.

Conversion is just the first step of a long and often a testing journey, so with every difficulty that may come your way ask Allah to help you deal with it and face your challenges with courage, a lot of patience, and persevere to its conclusion.
Allah Says in the holy Qur'an :
      Surah Aal-e-Imran, Ayah 200:
      يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اصْبِرُوا وَصَابِرُوا وَرَابِطُوا وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ
