I absolutely love what Cory is doing with all these guests and co-writes. We need more people in the industry going cross genre and tearing down walls the way he is doing. I really do appreciate you my friend!
Flecktones Live at The Quick vibes
Sierra is insane!!! Never heard such a clean and tight sound
What in the hell have I just seen and heard lol. I see she is primarily a singer. It's not right for somebody to be so talented.
Flawless tone
@@andrewkeen3129 She is primarily a string player, mandolin and guitar. Arguably the best mandolin player but yeah, shes got a beautiful voice too
@@brianvoith4235 I hear you but dunno hey, she's just listed as
'Sierra Hull
American singer'
Most of her music she seems to have been more involved with singing so guess I could possibly agree with that listing in that sense. I know she's been playing Mandolin most of her life though and is just incredible.
@@andrewkeen3129 She's primarily known as a mandolin player, but her singing and songwriting have come on in leaps and bounds over the last few years. Check out the recent solo
stuff PLUS her work with Béla Fleck AND her work with Sturgill Simpson!
One of the most joyous pieces of music I’ve heard in a long time - and what a band!
Agreed, to me this is like a spiritual successor to Stomping Grounds from Bela Fleck and the Flecktones
Check out Bela Fleck and the Flecktones if you havent, as this tune is clearly inspired by them :) I can recommend Big country and Off the top
@@JustinSpam I was just thinking "this would be so much more awesome if Bela Fleck is on the tune"!
Flecktones AND Wootenesque.
Bela Fleck is on Cory's most recent album so he clearly approves!
Just, thank you, from a 52 year old guitar player.
I honestly can't tell if Sonny T's parts are rehearsed or not. Everytime he solos Cory has this look on his face "where is this coming from?"
I can tell you right now that that’s the reaction everyone has to Sonny. He IS that dude!
I don’t know if you’re aware, but that man is not only one of the finest bass players ever, but also one of the nicest, funniest human beings you could ever hope to meet. It’s not without reason that he was Prince’s favourite Bass Player (in fact it was Sonny who gave Prince guitar lessons as a kid !)
Also, if all of that wasn’t enough, Sonny T’s laugh is one of the best sounds you’ll ever hear! 🥰
right!
@@BananaCologne Sounds like a fella I'd like to meet someday. Thanks for the interesting facts about Sonny T. 👍
I actually could listen to this one all the way thru, which is a rarity. Usually I have to stop it and rewind at some point, to find out like okay, someone DID just call his bass, in church no less, and he'd forgotten to turn off the ringer. Sometimes you need to verify that something did indeed just happen. Usually at least once during a song.
@@BananaCologne I could play like him, Well I could untill I pick up my bass. Top quality bass player. And not just for the solo
Was not expecting the FUNK turn in the middle of the mandolin solo... You got me !
Love them i was there with my sons beautiful memory
5:45 this is the best thing i've ever heard in my life
Cory the nicest guy alive in today's world
Sierra is such an incredible musician
You all are really channeling the Flecktones with this one. Love it!
Thanks fpr sparing me the effort to write the same comment ;-). They make Bela proud for sure
Hilarious man just heard the first 40 seconds and thought the same and saw your comment at that moment :)
Yeah this is very "Big Country - Live at the Quick". Unbelievable.
Sierra is a monster
I've never seen a sweeter smile on somebody melting faces in all my life. She rips that mandolin so cleanly and crisply yet each note goes somewhere... and when she rips off a savage line the smile is still there.
This is amazing. Hooray for youtube engagement
My favorite from the album! And my god Sonny T’s solo was wild!
Which album is this on?
@@bjornopitz6561 Power Station. There is a studio video for the album version, too.
This and the Billy strings collab, divine
This would be awesome music for a motorcycle ride through the mountains...
Wonderful tune and superbly played. Everyone has a smile on their faces and is having a great time. Astonishing playing from Sierra and Sonny T. It's nice to see Sierra get some exposure outside of the bluegrass world. What a talent she is.
Off the charts!!
Bet you can’t listen through this song and not smile and bob your head along with the band. Lol I legit started tearing up at one point. So beautiful and evokes so much joy! So awesome.
Yes, same here! Full on lump in throat!
No kidding. So much joy. You can't help but get a little lighter hearing and seeing this.
Omg i literally experienced the same thing
When Kenny and Sierra turn their instruments into one voice ❤ consistently I get goosebumps no matter how many times I play the song
If I get the gist of what Cory is looking to do with his music, which is to spread joy and happiness, he and this band have just hit a home run. I've loved this tune since the first time I heard it, and each new time I see it pop up I honestly cannot wait to hear what they did. Each time I'm surprised, and each surprise is beyond pleasant.
Agreed. Something about this particular tune exudes happiness, and it draws me in. It's like a good medicine.
Ya I’ve been watching him the last few years and really love where this is all going.
i thought the same thing.i love it.
Holy molly jawdroppin' Sonny T steals the show! Hope to hear more of your inner Jaco Sir!
Dear Cory, could you please write a bad song or do a messy live performance? I think it would really boost everyone else's ego because you really never miss
😂 facts!
Or use the bridge pickup.
No shit, so far this thread correctly identified not 1 but 3 things he can't do!
I see a new Wong video, I'm hitting like.
Hahaha
Much stronger groove/swing than the studio recorded version! I like it! Also, that bass solo at 1:54... Absolutely insane!!!
Superb groove during Sierra’s solo!
Sonny was definitely channeling his inner Jaco!
very nice, my grandfather played the mandolin, i have it in my closet, she played it like an angel, very entertaining, uplifting, thank you
I thought Sierra's solo had finished. She was just getting started!
Just can’t get enough of this song 😍😭
Sonny T is an absolute legend.
DAMN DAT BASS IS FUNKEEEEE! And Sierra is off the scale incredible.
Love that bluegrass funk!
DUDE... That B section after Sonnys solo is so freaking sick! I literally would've gotten tears in my eyes if I saw this live
The electric guitar her sounds just as good as the acoustic guitar in the original recording. Also, you need to get Sonny T's vocals on the ballad for the next album. Sierra's solo combined with your signature funk elements are a great mix!
I like the camera person. Nice job 👍
That settles it. I'm buying tickets to go see these guys this fall. They're coming to town on my birthday too 🥳
Update: I did see Cory and co perform on my birthday and it was fucking amazing. Although they didn't play this song :(
Cory and friends NEVER disappoints
🇯🇵これ、最高に大好き!
少し楽に弾いているコリーさんもいいですね!
シエラさんノリ最高!
ソニーさんはもうベースの域を超えていらっしゃる!アメージング🎉
My Best Song❤🎉❤🎉
Thank goodness you listened to Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. Now you not only carry the torch for smooth jazz 😄 but also whatever you call bluegrass instruments combined with other for this fusion of just pure magic. This really is so uplifting. I love everything about this. Brilliant musicianship, production, composition, arrangement, mix. Can’t say enough good things about what Cory and his brilliant band is blessing us with.
Was just thinking, this could be side B of Flight of the Cosmic Hippo!
@@jdkrones1039 😂😂 Totally
this band brings out the best performances out of all collaborators.
Love it. Sierra KILLS!
The Best!
Outstanding audio of a another amazing performance thanks 🙏.
Love Sonny´s bass solo
simply THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh I can't wait to see this in OKC. Shoutout to the horn section looking out for each other's microphones
Absolutely speechless! I could listen and watch this forever!
Amazing jazzistic's world music. Bélafleck and Flecktones Style.
Great song! Sierra Hull 👍👍🎵🎼🎵💪💪
Billy strings guest was 1st yt feed sent. new to Cory's band,so refreshing, happy sounds, love the guest star approach, Sierra is amazing
Absolute pure joy! Love this so much!
The love that y'all have for your music and each other is so potent it almost doesn't matter that you all happen to be world-class musicians.
this perferformance is incredible
Keep it coming!
You are the best kind of music happening today.
Thank you!
Scat bass solo. Sick
Absolutely amazing group of musicians, wow! Keep the musical works of art coming.
Sonny T 🤘
Pure unadulterated happiness
Funklicious!
Cool song! Very Bela Fleck and Flecktones :)
Cant wait to see them live (again)
Sounds just like The Flecktones! Had to double check to make sure it wasn't
I love it! A mix of country and funk.
Pure, uncut joy...
I so LOVE the single camera feature of all the Vulf videos.... the quick camera switching of 90's-2000's concert video was unwatchable to me.... gave me anxiety! With single camera, I simply feel like "I'm there". I don't have some video editor trying to create fake excitement by switching cameras every 2 seconds.
Dope!
Beautiful performance! Sierra is a brilliant player so clean and precise and the way she nods her head, whilst ripping those licks, like 'yeah, I know I'm a badass'!
The horns feel mixed a little low this recording, but maybe it's intentional to hear Sierra's fire on the mandolin.
Came for Sonny, stayed for the Wongnotes.
A Bop! Chill, upbeat and fun! A lovely tune!
I immediately thought this would be an Ozzy Osbourne cover 🙃. This is an awesome tune. Looking forward to learning from you a bit at the G4 Experience.
Pure joy!
Came into this not expecting the funky mando solo but man 🔥 🔥 🔥
Loved this tune live! I'm glad it's online now.
Sonny T. Though !!
Great!!! Wonderful people and wonderful music !!!
wow!!!
Wonderful. Perfect.
My mind is totally blown. This is fantastic!
Well Played, Epic Performance!
Phraser girl!!!!
Brilliant!!!
KILLIN!!!
Very cool Cory!
i love her and this tune.more please.
I can't stop listening any pice of ur work cory❤😘😘😍 my favourite
I wanna play like ur touches
incredible
Be versatile!
Cant stop listening!!
That’s some sweet music ❤❤❤
The bass part reminds me a lot of Rice With the Angels by Jonas Hellborg with the absolute legend Shawn Lane on guitar.
What kind of gear does Sonny use to get that awesome punchy crispy sound for his solo at 3:00?
What a lovely uplifting composition! Sierra, you are such an outstanding musician, your storytelling with your instrument is top notch and... this band is the definition of ...support!!! Can I please mention Sonny T again?
That was fire! It’s going on the playlist! 🔥
Amazing performance !
Oh my freaking gaaawd! This is sooo good 😀
Just brilliant, and massively smile-inducing! Thanks to the band for extraordinary performances all around. About the only thing that would have improved this is... less artificial smoke! -Tom
Fantastic music! Bravo!
a job done well Cory
Amazing !
Sonny T is HIM
I love it ❤ MORE !
damn
Nice
DMB vibes on this one
