IN THIS, THE 2ND OF TWO VIDEOS FILMED ON THURSDAY MARCH 19TH 2020, I TRAVEL TO MY HOME CLUB, WEST CORNWALL GOLF CLUB NEAR ST IVES TO SEE IF GOLF IS STILL AVAILABLE DESPITE THE ONGOING CORONA VIRUS SITUATION...
OBVIOUSLY THINGS HAVE NOW CHANGED BUT THE COMMENTS WITHIN THE VIDEO WERE ACCURATE AT THE TIME...

HI THERE. MY NAME IS JOHN RO OGDEN, BUT OGGIE WILL DO...
I am a newbie golfer, 54 Years old and lets say, hmm a BIG lad... But that doesn't stop me, I have a passion for the sport and although I have lots to learn I want to prove to people that Golf can be enjoyed by anyone, regardless of age, size, shape or experience.
BIG OGGIE GOLF is my new channel dedicated to ALL golfers.
We can't all be professional or scratch standard and many of us will never get close, but we can still have FUN.
So there will be regular Vlogs, Product reviews and Golf Course reviews from around the UK as well as Worldwide.
We will meet many golfers and golf fans along the way and I hope you will get to see things a little differently from the usual Golf TH-cam Channels out there.
There will also be lots of fun to be had and once the channel is established regular Competitions for Channel subscribers to take part in.
Golf sometimes gets a bad press and whilst occasionally that might be justified I hope to show it as not quite as stuffy and stereotyped as one would imagine.
There will also be my thoughts on what makes golf seem so stressful for people just starting out, and I will be looking at ways of making that all important first step a little easier.

Why thank you very much David x I am flattered by that comment x I always hope to try and stay positive whenever possible and as someone who has problems with depression it’s something I try and showcase as much as possible. A gentle but positive attitude to life without too much stress x

Good stuff, Oggie. Ah, I remember the dim and distant days of being able to play golf. I'm on holiday this week and have used my one-a-day exercise allowance to go for a walk on my course. Whoever said golf is a good walk spoiled never walked a course wishing they could hit a few balls. :)

@@royconstant9642 Nothing at all wrong with a bit of light-hearted smartarseery. In the same spirit; although it's usually attributed to Twain, that's very likely not the case. I always believed it was Twain until it came up on an episode of QI, where it seemed doubtful, at best. :)

I know, I shouldn’t have laughed too, but that’s just the way he is.. he isn’t happy now though, he had a text from NHS saying due to his asthma he has to isolate for 12 weeks now. Personally I am pleased he is... I what him safe and sound x
I fully agree with you in all that you say, I think it’s a shame we still can’t get out on the course for all the benefits you have mentioned, great to see a good course being played instead.

If I'm spared I look forward to getting out and playing golf again, though I suspect that it is going to be several months before the restriction can be relaxed.

@@BIGOGGIEGOLF I sincerely hope that you are correct John. Though being realistic tens of thousands of us in the UK won't survive the virus and I suspect that the World will be a very different place at the end of this crisis.
But I agree with you that we need to sit tight, be patient and show each other compassion in the months ahead.

John but i think ive had 2 games of golf since last September and im not getting any younger lol, All the rubbish weather we’ve had other the past few months to stop us playing and then all of a sudden hey some lovely sunshine and this dam virus stops us lol, John i do so appreciate the vids that you are putting out i think i may have gone crazy had it not been for you few fantastic people that do this and i so look forward to watching them they remind me of what ive got to look forward to so any amount of content you put out is great and a big thank you from me. Seems ages already since the lock down and courses closed. Have to check my clubs to see they are not rusting. I’ve read that it might take a while after the courses are allowed to open for the greenkeeping staff to get the courses ready.
Well from what I know currently green keepers are still working to try and keep the courses in some kind of condition but yes I agree that it may be a while before they are back up and running properly
What a lovely course. Have fond memories of playing there in my RAF days based at RNAS Culdrose back in the 90s

Seems a long time ago we could go to the course. I'm okay with videos till the end of May and then I'm out.
I have a few more left but after that it’s rambling chat ha ha x no change there then... lol
@@BIGOGGIEGOLF I've spaced mine out a bit and then I'm going to infill with chat and garden golf a bit. I can just stretch into June. Maybe. Going to knock out a "Look at who I watch" video tonight and then invite other small youtubers to do the same. Maybe get some subs out of it.
Being that i'm not allowed at weekends and not at all now!! what are the five day fee's for your club John, 7 day seems reasonable up
against some clubs near me, over £1200 at some. I pay £ 550 for five day plus county handicap fee. Courses are ideal for a walk, playing or not and to see wildlife inc pheasants, peacocks,deer, squirrels and many types of birds. That's my coarse, most links courses you are dodging getting

Hi there my friend I will need to check on prices but I think West Cornwall do a full membership at around £695 and then a flexible membership which is based around credits to play at various times of the day which is I think £450 with an option to purchase more credits should you need them later on in the year. The issue we get here is an occasional snake (adders) but very rare and numerous gulls who are brilliant at stealing food from your golf bag ha ha. I am afraid that Matt is still owed a pasty or two and I haven’t heard from him this week but I do have a few more videos created and two inc him x

Oh some years ago I lived near Liskeard in a tiny place called Rosecraddock near St Clear, moved away from Cornwall and travelled a bit but eventually came back to live at this end. Yes of course we can collaborate anytime. Email me bigoggiegolf@gmail.com

Golf can’t be allowed because people would need to drive to the courses and that’s not allowed

Hmm I would need to check but about 700 a year for full membership with a number of other options at cheaper rates.
