This is great to see. It is usually done by the Scottish Regiments. The Black Watch, Royal Highland Fusiliers, Scots Guards etc. Great Regiment and Band.🇬🇧🏴🏴🇬🇧
This is going to be a very interesting change of pace. They are well known for their quick pace and of course the bugles. Welcome to Edinburgh boys. Tks H for another excellent video...think they will keep you busy and look forward to more videos.
British Army Band Catterick, based in Catterick Garrison, is one of two Regular Army Brass Bands. The band was formed in 2019, bringing together musicians from the bands of The Royal Armoured Corps, The King’s Division and The Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. British Army Band Catterick provides a variety of musical ensembles in addition to its marching band capability, including brass quintets and a contemporary rock band. (information from internet)
all of the tunics are green however his is a lighter green meaning that its a new tunic as over time they loose their colour or it depends what tailoring firm the riflemen went to
I've come to the conclusion that all regiments and corps except the Guards should adopt the Ghurka Light Infantry drill where there is no bending of the knee in the turns and the halt. It's very similar to the Rifles drill here but less "rigorous" if that helps! Now any veterans out there, please don't get angry just look up the Ghurka Logistics Regts Attestation parade their drill is perfect, snappy and slick. Just saying...
At risk of opening up a nutty debate, rifle regiment drill started to change in 1958 with the formation of The Green Jackets Brigade prior to this it was All Arms Drill with variations, pace and rifles at the trail. 🥸
@@johnsabini2330 The term 'All Arms' is the catch all for the British army, the 'All Arms Drill Manual' covers drill movements and procedures for the British army including the Guards and the Light Division, who have and always have had a separate way of carrying out drill movements that stem from battlefield actions, these movements and commands have changed little in over two hundred years accept to take into account the change of personal weapons and the adaptions of drill movements to suit Light Infantry drill, it's called Light Infantry drill because it evolved within Light Infantry regiments as far back as the American wars, and was adopted by all Light Infantry as was the Bugle Horn, the cap badge of the Light Infantry
It's a ceremonial Guard Mount, not a paid performance. The stands are built up and ready on the Castle Esplanade for the Tattoo which starts on Thursday 1st August ( I'll be there 👍) and runs nightly for 3 weeks ( except Sundays ).
They are professional media, there at the invitation of HQ Scotland. The Army is aware of the need to generate favourable coverage, even if you aren't.
Lots of noisy brass but frequently out of tune! Sadly out of tune at start of inspection music. Lacked any zip accompanying the bugles. Not much of advert for an all brass band - one dimentional sound and dubious musicianship!

Welcome to Edinburgh boys? Unless someone moved Dreghorn bks, The Rifles have been in Edinburgh for years....
@@AirplaneDoctor_ I think the band is from England. They don't wear kilts :-)
@@haizhens-hutThe band is, but he was referring to the Rifles who have been in Edinburgh for years.
Haizhen is going to need her running shoes to keep up with these troops.

And what is the object or advantage of the change you propose !
It's Light Infantry/Rifle drill, they were doing it long before the Gurkhas adopted it.
Imagine a commenter on YT thinking they're going to change the traditions of the British Army😂😂😂😂

Why no audience?
The crowd all stood behind the barrier. The seats are for the coming Edinburgh Tattoo.

No, it's just a Castle Guard Mount.
This band sounds great. But why didn’t the bugles tune to them?
You can't tune a bugle - no sliders. The most is to shift the mouthpiece in/out a bit.
1:24 hahahaha!

Wish we didn't have all these photographer/film clowns getting in the way.
