The scam isn’t to get you to pay for the stuff you didn’t order. It’s just a way for the seller to pump up their reviews. They don’t care what you do with what you get.
Here’s a scam someone tried on me yesterday. I had ordered deluxe invitation envelopes from Amazon, and the same day I received the envelopes I also received an email with a link to what was allegedly the US Postal Service selling discount stamps. I thought it was too good to be true, and too coincidental; did a little research, and sure enough - the post office does NOT sell discounted stamps.
@@bradleysaito4393 They do discount to corp clients. The bulk mailers that are mailed, full of advertising, are all discounted. Shipping packages are discounted as well. Remember when Trump was targeting Amazon for their use of the Postal Service a few years back? Saying the Postal Service was losing money because of it. When in fact they was making money, especially due to the bulk of packages Amazon was shipping with them.
They don’t want it back and don’t care about being paid (and 99% of the time the stuff was already paid for). It’s a scam to pump up the seller’s reviews.
DO NOT contact seller or retailer about the mistake. Ignore it or donate it. If they want it back, they must ask for it. Then tell them to come and get it. Don't tell them your address, that is not your problem.
Any products that you didn’t order are yours to keep . That rule is used to stop this scam . Donate to your homeless shelter and record and get a receipt
I remember when you had to PAY to return the package. A lot of times it was just something small like a pen, so many times people just kept it but then had to PAY for itl Became such a problem Congress passed the law making returns free for us, billable to original sender.
The previous owners of our house has this issue. From time to time we get an item or two. Right address but wrong people. Not sure if we are being 'scammed' because it's not our names on it. Our address sure, but that's public info.
That happens to anyone who moves into a new home when the previous occupants forgot to update their info at various businesses. I’ve gotten boxes with dog medicine, important letters, etc. It has nothing to do with scams it’s just forgetfulness.
You probably don't want to be on one of those lists. Some people get literal truck loads of stuff over the course of a year and it can become a real problem to dispose of.
Look closely at the director of privacy for norton, sanchez-rola, HE LOOKS LIKE A FAKE CGI GENERATED HUMAN!!! The hair, face, beard has this WEIRD LOOK!!!
Norton does scams also I have had technicians saying something is wrong with my computer and that I need to buy their product, I don’t trust their customer service team this has happened to me twice so I don’t buy their products.
THE IRONY!! You can also add to your list, news channels that create a videos with shocking titles to intrigue you to make the click and boost their 👍🏻 ratings!! (hence the capital font at the start of this message.. please 👍🏻)😂😂
Protip if someone arrives at your address, and is labeled for your address; you can keep it for free. A man in Florida once was mailed a .50 Semi-automatic rifle worth about $10k, he got to keep it despite mail delivery firearms being illegal because of a screw up by the vendor. He returned it and got store credit worth $7,500 or so.
This is true if a person or business ships you something you didn’t order and then wants you to pay for it or return it. You can keep it and not pay. But it’s not legal to keep stuff that was clearly intended for someone else - for instance the post office misdelivered it, or the sender put your address on it accidentally but when you open it you can see who it’s really for.
One problem with the privacy being violated, sure u need to check, but remember if u pay a phone bill your name and address are in the digital white pages. All I have to do is type a name in the online white pages pick a state and the name will come with and address of anyone in the state with that name.
This country is so FOS. How about addressing the criminals instead giving decent people a dissertation on avoiding scammers. I already know what I will do and it won't include listening to this advice.
Put in small delivery GPS app machine in box, if the owner open the box and this smaller GPS machine to delivery services . If this box move to another places , the delivery service with policeman arrested to steal persons.
Seems to me that contacting the seller to return the items would open you up to more fraud. Keeping the package and saying nothing seems safer.
yep
FEDERAL LAW says if you receive something unsolicited, you do NOT have to return it or pay for it.
Exactly
The scam isn’t to get you to pay for the stuff you didn’t order. It’s just a way for the seller to pump up their reviews. They don’t care what you do with what you get.
@@Sashazurunless you go to the site and leave bad reviews!
Only if the package is addressed to you. If it is a misdelivery then you can not keep it.

That's from that Asian ring that made fake stamps. Good investing 👍 they got arrested resently
USPS reported a 6.5B operating loss for FY23, no way that there's anything discounted by USPS! Good catch btw!

Never ceases to amaze me how people always find a way to exploit any circumstance.
leave a scathing review saying how it took 6 months to get the wrong order delivered.
You can keep any unsolicited merchandise ... if they want it, they can send me the RMA and a pre-paid postage, and a box.

Yeahhhh, no. Lol
I jump through no hoops for other people's mistakes. You get nothing further from me.
Are we supposed to trust an interview with a NORTON representative using AI to represent themself?

Free gift, keep it some personal information are already public, that is how they get your name and address.
Someone i know has this going on
135 items sent so far.
He has donated everything !!!!!
And what is that Amazon company doing about this: NOTHING AS USUAL!!??
Your "expert" is from Norton? They are part data sellers workflow
Do not contact the seller. Just throw it out and change your password
1:33 There are a lot of steps to follow just for getting something you didn't order. 😞
so you are getting free product? LOL. sounds like a gift to me. win, win!
Yes, it's a byproduct of how contract law works. If somebody just sends you something, you haven't agreed to any terms at all, so it must be a gift.
Did you people even listen to the whole story? They're giving you free products and then writing fake reviews in YOUR NAME on their website.
@@CrismodinThey’re still free.
Nothing is "free". You'd better be running a credit report. If one person bought your info, so did someone else.
